I waited for what seemed like hours and then they walked in. They greeted me with a smile.

Diggy: What's up man? You good?

Trevor: I don't know.

I shrugged.

Jacob: You'll be fine. Just remember what she said.

Trevor: What happened?

He clapped and then held his arms out.

Diggy: Nicole! Who else?

I smiled and shook his hand.

Trevor: Congratulations. You're sprung.

All of us laughed and Diggy just shook his head.

Diggy: I know you ain't talking man, the way you be all over Autumn. Calling and texting her every time shit hits the fan or when you just wanna talk.

Trevor: Man, I can't even lie. Before I came here, Autumn and I almost-.

I stopped myself and then repositioned my words for Jacob's sake. He loved her just as much as I do, but the respect level is not as high.

Trevor: Got into it.

Diggy just shook his head.

Diggy: Again?

Jacob: It's not that type of issue.

I could hear the warning in his voice and I tried to rethink my words where they wouldn't make him even more upset than he already was. So I shifted my focus back to my grandma.

Trevor: Yeah, but I just keep think bout my Grandma. Like, what am I gon do without her?

Jacob: Yo, what are we gonna do? That woman was the closest thing I had to God. It was like she was an angel walking with us.

Trevor: And she still is. She's not dead yet, Jacob.

Jacob: Don't you think I know that? It's just that something is telling me that-.

Trevor: Don't even say it.

I couldn't bare the thought of losing my grandmother. Not now. The doctor came in soon after and we all went in to see her. I was the first to walk in.

Trevor: Hey Grandma.

I smiled as I walked over to her bedside. Her smile warmed my soul.

Grandma: Hey baby. How are you?

Trevor: I'm doing good. What happened to you?

Grandma: Oh, I just missed a few steps and tripped over my own two feet. But you know Odessa's got me taken care of.

I nodded. Julian Odessa Jackson was my Aunt's full name. But my Grandma only called her Odessa because she was named after Queen Ester in the bible. It was her given name and Julian came from my Grandfather's father's name. Julius. It was a name that would travel great lengths in the world and into an unforgettable family.

Trevor: Yes ma'am.

Grandma: But do you know who's really got me?

Trevor: God.

Grandma: That's right baby. And don't you forget it.

My smile wasn't enough to hold back the tears in my eyes.

Trevor: Grandma.. Grandma, there's just so many things I want to tell you and talk about and I know I won't be able to but I wanna try to now.

Grandma: Calm down, baby. Calm down.

She grabbed a hold of my hands and I felt this chill of ease run through me. I nodded and wiped my eyes.

Trevor: Do you think that Autumn is right for me?

She smiled.

Grandma: Honey, without a shadow of a doubt. If you take good care of her, give her some real love and take things slow, she will be your wife. And that's how it's meant to be. Just don't mess it up.

Trevor: Never.

I shook my head, living in the denial of ever even considering cheating on Autumn. That girl was my life and hopefully, when the time comes, she'll become my wife too.

Grandma: Don't speak with the mouth of a fool, Trevor.

Trevor: Grandma, trust me. I Love Autumn. There ain't no way that I'll ever cheat on her.

The silence became overpowering and I broke it with the memory of Jacob and Diggy.

Trevor: Grandma, I brought two other people to see you.

I said as I went to the door and opened it. They walked in and I was left to ponder everything that she had said to me right then.

Nicole: Oh my gosh! NIGGAAAAAAAA!

Autumn: What? What?

I said as I tried to calm her down. She was excited but freaking out at the same time a dm that's not the best combination. I made her sit down and then take a deep breath before counting.

Autumn: You okay?

She nodded.

Nicole: Yeah, I'm okay.

Autumn: Good. Now tell me what's up.

Nicole: Okay, so you know how Doggy and me go to the gym, right?
