~Trevor~

I was sitting on the floor while looking through some books for college..

Trevor: Man.. I really need to pick a major..

I sighed and got a text from Autumn.

"I'm here." ~Autumn

I got up and unlocked the door. She came in a few minutes later and saw me flipping through some pages of a book.

Autumn: Hey babe.

Trevor: Hey..

She came over to me and I have her a quick kiss before returning to my book. She sat down next to me and started looking through a random book.

Autumn: What are you doing?

Trevor: Major searching.

Autumn: Looks more like job hunting.

I shrugged.

Trevor: I figured that if I found a job that fits what I like to do, then I can major towards that and beyond.

Autumn: Smart.

She nodded and it got quiet again. I noticed that she had no idea what to do, so I asked her a simple question.

Trevor: What'd you do today?

Autumn: I went over Jacob's..

I put the book down and looked at her.

Trevor: He got out?

Autumn: Apparently so..

Trevor: Wow..

Autumn: Yeah, he's staying over his mom's house until he can take care of himself. He looks like he's doing pretty good, so far.

I nodded as I turned my attention back to my book.

Trevor: When did he get out?

Autumn: Today, actually.

Trevor: That's good.. What'd you talk about?

She became uneasy and scratched the back of her head.

Autumn: He uh.. He's going through a lot right now and he just needed someone to talk to..

I nodded and waited for an answer, but one I realized that I wasn't going to get one, I asked her again and put the book down.

Trevor: So what exactly did you talk about?

Autumn: Nothing.

Trevor: Autumn..

I gave her a look that let her know that I was slightly annoyed but at the same time, still very calm.

Autumn: I.. I just don't wanna put his business out there like that..

This does not sound like her at all.. She usually tells me everything with no problem.. I turned towards her and held her hands.

Trevor: Autumn.. You know that you can tell me anything. I'm not everybody and I'm not gonna tell anyone, if that's what you're worried about.

She nodded.

Autumn: He doesn't remember who Helen is, so he cut her off because she lost his baby.

I had to let that sink in. That doesn't make any sense!

Trevor: Wait, wait. Rewind that back, baby. What?

She sighed and started over.

Autumn: He was flipping through his phone and saw messages from Helen, but he didn't remember who she was. He called her when he saw a text about his baby and she told him that she had a miscarriage after trying to get an abortion. So, he cut her off.

Damn.. I thought as I leaned back on the couch.

Trevor: Does he remember who you are?

That came out wrong, but she knew what I meant.

Autumn: He can only remember falling in love with me and our last goodbye.. Parts of it, that is..

Shit.. I know exactly what this means.. I know Jacob and I know that he still loves Autumn, but he knows that Autumn and I are together. That means that so major shit is about to go down. We might lose our brotherhood over this..

Autumn: Trevor? Trevor are you okay?

I shook my head and left the room. If I was gonna keep Autumn, I was gonna have to put up some major walls when it came to Jacob. Especially since I don't know who he is anymore since he lost his memory.. He could be the player that can steal Autumn away from me or he could be the kid that's sincere.. I just have to find out for myself.. I called him and he answered.

Jacob: Ayo, what up Trev?

Trevor: Hey man. I heard you got outta jail.

He chuckled on the other line.

Jacob: Yeah man, I'm free! I'm glad to be out this hellhole.

I nodded.

Trevor: So what's been going on, man?

Jacob: Nothing, man. I just been hit with some stuff from Helen.. She lost my baby cause she was sleeping around.

Trevor: Sorry about that man.

Jacob: That ain't what made me mad, though. What made me mad was when she said that she tried to get an abortion because she thought I wasn't gon make it.

Trevor: What?

Jacob: That's what I'm saying! I don't even remember you and you already causing bad memories! So I cut her off.

Trevor: Good. You finally dropped her.

I laughed.

Jacob: I needed to. Hell, I was dumb for fuckin' wit her.

Trevor: Right, right.

Jacob: What you been up to?

Trevor: Autumn just came over. She said she just came from your place, so I just decided to give you a call.

Jacob: Yeah, I needed someone to talk to and she was it. I thank God for her.

Trevor: You tell her about Helen, yet?

Jacob: Yeah, I told her when she was over here.

Trevor: Cool, cool. Well, man. Imma see if I can stop by later. If not, I'll hit you up tomorrow.

Jacob: Coo. I'll talk to ya.

Trevor: Peace.

We hung up and I sighed. I can't risk losing her. My world is already falling apart and right now, she, God and my Grandma are my world. I walked back out to the living room to see Autumn focused on a book..

Trevor: Autumn, why are you highlighting my books?

Autumn: I'm highlighting what you overlooked..

I sat down and looked at her.

Trevor: Babe. I appreciate your help, but..

I glanced down at the highlighted material and then read them. Producer, actor, singer, dancer.. All in the arts.. I studied them.. Bachelors degree.. I could do this..

Autumn: What was that?

I looked up at her and grinned.

Trevor: I Love You..

I kissed her and looked back down at the book, not realizing what I just said to her. I promised myself that I wouldn't say those words again unless I knew that she felt the same way.. Thank God she acted like she didn't notice.
