I looked down at her for a moment and then shook my head.

Trevor: I don't know.. Cause I think that If we didn't go through what we did with our ex's, then we probably wouldn't value each other as much as we do now.

She nodded and looked down.

I kissed her forehead and thought about Mark again. That dude made me laugh a lot and now all I have are memories.

I shrugged.

I smiled and he chuckled before lifting my chin.

Diggy: Yeah? Well, let's see how your voice does in the studio.

He teased and walked outside. It was nighttime and I couldn't help but admire the sky. Nature is my true passion, but I don't think Diggy would enjoy it as much.. I got in the car and he turned on the radio. I automatically changed the station until I found a song that I liked. He just looked at me as I jammed to my music.

Nicole: What?

Diggy: Nothing..

He shook his head with a smile.

I said as I turned the music down.

Diggy: You just get really hype when you heard the beat drop and it's cute.

I said before jamming out again but Diggy turned off the radio before looking at me with a serious expression on his face.

I blinked and was slightly confused.

He just shook his head as we came to a red light.

I nodded and didn't bother to turn the radio back on. The ride was kinda silent besides when he tried to tell me that I could turn the radio back on. I just shook my head and said that it was fine. Once we got to the place, my eyes lit up. The house was big! I couldn't even get out, but Diggy didn't mind because he opened my door for me and grabbed me by the hand.

Diggy: Okay Nicole. We're here. Are you okay?

I looked over at him.

Diggy: It's my dad's house.

I said to myself. He just laughed.

He shrugged as we approached the front door. He took out his keys and unlocked the door. The inside was even nicer than the outside. It's hard not to be ghetto when you've never seen houses this nice.. So, I did what any girl like me would do.. I started touching stuff and stopped to look at everything. Diggy literally had to drag me to the studio and that's when shit got real.

Diggy: Nicole, come on. I promise you that I'll give you a tour after we record the song.

We walked into the studio and my face went pale.

Diggy: Nicole, this is my father.

Nicole: Russell Simmons? You mean to tell me that the Reverend Run is your father?

He chuckled.

Diggy: Yeah.

Diggy: Yeah. She's here to help me with this new song that I wrote. It goes to a beat that I produced in the past.

He smiled over at me but I was too busy looking at a reward that Reverend Run won with his group, Run DMC. I grew up on this man's music and now I get to meet him? That's a blessing.

Russell: Nicole?

I turned to face him. He was standing in front of me.

Russell: Who's your favorite artist and why?

Nicole: Well, I like Nicki Minaj and Prince. Only because they're both crazy and their music is amazing. They express themselves without caring in everything they do and I admire that.. But that's not the answer you wanted to hear..

Russell: No..

We laughed and I put my hands on my hips.

Nicole: Well, if you would've asked me what my favorite group was, I would've said Bone Thugs'N Harmony and.. Run DMC.

He looked over at Diggy and saw his seriously expression.

Russell: I like her.

Diggy laughed and shook hands with his dad.

Diggy: I knew you would.

His eyes shifted over to where I was and he smiled.

Diggy: You ready?

Diggy: Let's go.

He grabbed my hand and we walked into the studio. He put on the earphones and handed me a pair. We stood on opposite sides of each other and recorded the song.. Well.. Part of it..

Russell: That's it for tonight y'all. I have to get up in the morning for an interview with Rickey Smiley.

Diggy: Alright pops. See you tomorrow.

Reverend Run saluted us on the way out as Diggy and I were taking off our headphones. I was excited, so I hugged Diggy. I just didn't expect him to pick me up when I did. When he put me down I just couldn't stop smiling.

Nicole: Diggy, I can't believe what just happened!

Diggy: You better believe it!

Nicole: Why didn't you tell me that Reverend Run was you dad?

He shrugged.

Diggy: You never asked.

I rolled my eyes and tried to walk away, but he still had me by the hand.

I turned around with my hands on my hips.

I teased and he smiled.

Diggy: I wanna play a game.

I stood against the wall with my arms crossed.

He nodded and we began the game. We took turns and once we got to the twenty-first question, I had to think a long time before I came up with mine. I took a deep breath before asking.

He chuckled.
