Unsuspected Hero

"Save him... save him... save him..." Chase repeated these two words over and over again in his head as he stared at the bloody sheet of paper in front of him. The words "save him" were written in blood and there were bloody splatters spread across it, soaking it and making it limp.

He had an idea of who left it, actually, he knew who left it, he just didn't know what it meant. Who did he have to save? Where the hell was he supposed to go? He gripped the soaked sheet tighter, making the blood flow onto his hands and staining them red, and took a deep breath.

With tears slowly dripping down his face, he asked the question.

"Who?"

There was no answer, he didn't expect one. He was standing in the middle of an empty room, an empty house at that. It was late at night, he didn't want to go outside. He just wanted to rest, but no, something just had to happen, didn't it?

Even though every cell in his body was telling him not to go outside, he did anyway. He shoved the note into his pocket and ran, ran through the small bundle of trees outside of his house and sprinted to the place besides his own home he knew best, his office.

His office was it's own building, it was pretty large and he had it all to himself. He quickly flicked on the light as soon as he was in and slowly took deep breaths as he leaned against the door.

Then, he heard faint cries. They sounded exactly like Jack.. wait, Jack? That must be who the note was referring to!

He walked around his office and the screams got louder.

"HELP!! SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!"

The voice got more and more strained with every cry.

"Jack??" Chase called out. No answer. Shit.

He ran around some more, looking like a chicken that just lost his head trying to figure out where Jack was. "Jack?? Where are ya buddy?" He didn't care that he was risking his own life while trying to save Jack's.

Then, he came to the basemen. The screams were so audible that hell could hear them. He gasped and practically kicked the door down and ran down, only to be greeted by a figure with a glowing green iris who laughed maniacally as soon as Chase placed his foot on the bottom step.

"Glad you could make it, Chase." He laughed.

"Anti, let Jack go." Chase demanded with no emotion. "Or what?" Anti stepped to the side a little bit  to reveal Jack, all bloody and torn apart. Well, his clothes anyway. His clothes had tips and tears in them, blood soaked the skin behind almost every single one. A bloody rag covered his mouth and his neck had a shallow cut all the way across it, not enough for too much blood ti escape, but painful none the less.

His head hung down and he didn't say a word, he didn't dare.

"Well, are you gonna save your friend?" Anti asked in a mocking tone.

"I.. um.." Chase stuttered.

Anti smirked and grabbed Chase's arm, putting his knife up to his neck, making a cut in it as he squeezed his arm tightly. "Pussy, are we?"

Chase ripped his arm out of Anti's grasp and roughly sighed. "You don't hurt my friend Anti." He grabbed his wrist and ripped his knife out of his hand so fast that Anti didn't have any time to react. "Now you're gonna pay, you glitch.. bitch."

Anti quickly threw Chase to the ground, making him hit his back and head against the wall behind him, as Anti glitched away from him and held Jack tightly, making him wince.  "He's too far gone, what's the point?" Anti chuckled. Chase stared down at the shiny, bloody knife in his hand. "I must.. save my friend.."

Chase took another deep breath and ran, almost jumped towards Anti and threw him on the ground. Before he could stand up he pinned him to the cold surface beneath them. Anti struggled to get out of Chase's grasp, but at that moment, Chase had become stronger than him. "Time to die by the wrath of your own knife." Chase growled before stabbing the knife into Anti's chest, watching mass amounts of blood spill out. Chase smiled as he stood up and places his foot on Anti's stomach, putting loads of pressure on it. "That'll teach you to not mess with Jack.. bitch." Chase said before rushing over to jack, who appeared to be dead.

Chase carefully lifted Jack's head up as tears threatened to fall from his eyes. To his relief, he was still alive. He carefully peeled off the rag that was covering his mouth. "Jack.. you're getting out of here." He bit his lip. Jack weakly smiled. Jack noticed that Chase was all beat up and blood was coming from his lip and neck. "Are you okay Chase??" Jack frantically asked.

"Jack I'm fine, you're in worse condition than I am." Chase replied quickly, rubbing some of the bruises on his face. "Now come on, let's get you out of here." Chase quickly undid the chains that were holding Jack down and helped him stand up, finding a cloth and putting it over Jack's neck to help stop some of the bleeding.

"Chase?" Jack looked at Chase before they headed up.

"Yeah?" Chase replied with a hint of confusion.

"I don't think anyone, not even me would've guessed that you would be a hero."

Chase shrugged. "Couldn't let ya die. We're all here for each other when Anti tries to attack, am I right?"

Jack chuckled weakly. "Right."

This one was kinda crappy I know, sorry :P
