A night in Vietnam
They finished their job. The reason why they were both here together completed. A beautiful night to showcase the relationship between South Korea and Vietnam, a bond forged over a passion for music. Irene walked up to the stairs of the hotel, annoyed by the fact that the elevator was out of commission. She swore light under her breath, wanting to take of the heels that were causing a strong ache with ever step she took. She nodded to her manager, catching from the corner of her eye Jackson returning with his manager.
Their groups had respectively flown back to Korea but her and Jackson's flight had been extended for a day so that the staff could thank them for their hard work whilst presenting.
She opened the door to cold room, her eye brows creasing slightly as she walked up the AC slamming the buttons furiously before giving up. It felt like Antarctica and this was the last thing she needed right now. She grabbed some clothes from her suitcase. A black Adidas sweatshirt and a matching pair of leggings now adorning her figure as she ditched the white dress that had graced her form all evening. She folded the material neatly placing it back in the cover she had been given before jumping and collapsing into the white fluffy pillows around her head. She shuddered slightly trying to gain some warmth, the crisp coolness keeping her tired eyes from closing. She sat up slightly a knock to her door resounding.
She got up opening it to reveal Jackson, a dazzling smile on his face as he looked at her, the two matching in sweatshirts. She watched as he rubbed the back of his neck uttering a small greeting to her. "I was wondering if you wanted to come out, that's if you aren't tired. I'm sorry of course you are. Sorry for disturbing you." "Wait." She called out softly his eyes picking up to hers as she offered him a bright smile to ease his uneasiness. "I'd love that." She spoke turning around to grab a hat and a small bag for her phone and cards.
She saw the smile he passed her, her heart skipping a beat slightly as he extended a hand to her, her own leading into his touch before she could even register in her mind what she was doing. But regardless, she trusted him. He smirked at her slightly before taking off, his hand pulling her along the hallway, his feet picking up the pace as the two ran hand in hand, laughter coursing through the air as they did. They ran out the hotel, past their managers before the breeze of the night hit them. Irene closed her eyes momentarily, inhaling the air as she turned to him. "So where too?" He looked at her as she wrapped an arm onto the one that held her hand snuggling to him for warmth. "Depends on what your up for." He spoke looking at her with a smile. She looked up at him. "Anything." She responded. "Wow you trust me that much?" He spoke tenderly, laughing slightly as she looked up at him. "More than you know." Was her response ditching his hand before running again, his own feet following her as they entered the car park, Jackson sitting down on a motorcycle. She eyed him wearily as he handed her a helmet, helping her strap it to her head before sitting down and nodding for her to climb onto the back. He turned slightly. "Hold onto me Rene." He said winking slightly as he started it up, Irene taken off guard as she held him hesitantly. He kicked off the ground, zooming off at high speed, feeling her small petite hands wrap around him, clinging for dear life. He laughed over the air, telling her to look, laughing more when she shook her head no. He prodded her gently, slowing down slightly for her enjoyment watching from the mirror as she smiled, their destination for the night finally reached.
He handed his keys over to a man who hugged him, Irene's features displaying a small smile as she took the helmet off. Jackson walked back to her, helping her smooth her hair down, his hands resting on either side as she looked up at him caught of guard again. He took her hand in his own, the instant warmth providing her comfort as she let him drag her to an exhibition.
He talked about the art on display, he talked about music, he talked about his passions and through it all Irene listened, asking questions now and then, and genuinely becoming more and more intrigued about the man behind his title, the title of Jackson Wang.
He stood in front of another painting asking her what she saw. And yet her words fell short. She couldn't answer him. It looked like a mess in her opinion and she voiced it, earning a round of laughter from him as he held her in front of him, his mouth ghosting her ear as he pointed out to her what to look for, the images, the perceptions he made were beautiful, telling her a story in a story as they passed from art work to art work. They stood in front of another, Irene asking if she could try, gaining a nod and a small smile as she looked back at the painting. "Depression." Was the word she uttered. "A battle, an internal battle that they are losing." She read between the lines, Jackson's eyes softening slightly as he watched her eyes water slightly, his heart knowing that she had been feeling like this. He took her hand back in his own, watching as she tried to hide the crack in her facade. "I suffered from that." He spoke out, his eyes trained onto the picture in front of him. "Depression." He spoke again, Irene's eyes widening. She hadn't noticed that about him, nor had she ever suspected that such a warm human being was capable of such dark feelings. But it made sense to her now. Why he was the way he was. Because he never wanted to burden those around him. She squeezed his hand. "I was in a dark place. Nothing I did was good enough, and my moods would change like the moon. I wasn't happy. I was always searching for more, but I found something to hold onto. I found my passion for music, I found a want, a drive to be more and that became my goal. That rid me off the doubtful voices and the hate." She looked up at him with admiration, his hazel eyes turning to meet hers, his hand squeezing hers. "You'll get through it irene. Baby steps, but you'll do it. Your one of the strongest people I've ever met and I pray that you find something to hold onto because you deserve it." Her eyes began to water slightly. "Thank you." She whispered. "That was exactly what I needed to hear." She continued. He smiled at her asking for her phone before typing in his number and saving it with different emojis that brought a smile to her face. "Whenever you need me, I'll be there." He spoke to her tenderly, his hand ghosting her face to wipe away the stray tear that she hadn't known had fallen. He pressed call on his name, in order to save her number, Irene practically jumping on him to see what he had saved her as, their laughter ringing out before they were asked to leave.
He dragged her to a nearby restaurant, ordering his favourite food for her to try watching as she looked around at the small amounts of people who were scattered around the streets. "It's beautiful." She whispered, appreciating the small ounces of beauty that the city displayed. He smiled at her as she turned to him. "Thank you." She spoke as he raised an eye brow. "What for?" "For the whole thing with San-E. I wanted to thank you early but I didn't get the chance to...I really appreciate it." She spoke softly as she looked down slightly. He grabbed her hand watching as she looked up to him. "You don't need to thank me for that Irene. He was out of line and I'm glad I was there to make sure you were safe, I'm just sorry I wasn't there when he placed his arm around you." Irene shook her head. "It's fine Jackson. The fact that you intervened was more than enough. I'm used to it. They say I'm beautiful, they see me just for my face and my body and they abuse it as much as they want, it's been worse but the point is I'm grateful that you stood up for me. No one has done that before." He looked at her. "Your more than just a face Irene. So much more. Let them sleep on your talent, but prove them wrong, make them eat their words and do it in such away that, the beautiful smile you posses never falls. Your beauty and brains so show them that queen like style and aura that you have." She smiled up at him. "You're really good at these pep talks Wang, can I hire you as a personal cheerleader." He laughed. "Of course, any time." She smiled as the two continued to laugh and joke, their flirting catching each other off guard as they ate their meal. A comfort reached that neither had been able to achieve with anyone else. The small looks, the small touches, both noted as they smiled up at each other before moving off. "One more place and then I think we should head back." he spoke. "It's getting quite late and we are needed tomorrow as well." She nodded in agreement as he took her hand in his again, the two enjoying their walk as they told each other things that they hadn't told anyone. The moment was perfect. He led her up a set of stairs in an abandoned building. "Is this where you kill me." she joked, emitting another laugh from him as they climbed further up, Jackson opening a door and jumping out before sticking a hand back into pull her up, a beautiful view of the entire city below them. Irene smiled her hands going out to feel the air as she leaned against the railing, Jackson hands on either side of her as he pointed things out, watching her in amusement at her excitement. She jumped up and down for pictures, the two having a mini photo shoot before looking back at the city. "It's so quite." She spoke looking down as he wrapped his arms around her to keep her warm. She leaned back into him as the two settled into silence enjoying the moment of peace with each other. Irene smiled as she turned slightly in his arm. "We should head back." He whispered looking down at his phone. And as his head moved back to watch her, her lips had pressed against his, one hand tangling into his hair as she the other held his arm that was on her waist. He froze momentarily before finally responding, their lips fighting for dominance as they worked at each other. Irene smiled into the kiss feeling him do the same, before they parted. "I wanted to do that all night." She spoke truthfully watching as he smirked back at her. "And we have the rest of the night to continue to do just that." He responded.
They reached the hotel. Irene joining him in his much more warmer room to do just what they planned to do.
But,
What happens in Vietnam stays in Vietnam.
The end
