Jack's POV

It's the day after Draco insulted Buckbeak and his arm apparently still hurts. We're in potions and he sits right next Harry & Ron at the same table. Hermione and I having sit on the table next to them instead. Which is weird as he usually sits in the front row in Potions. Today we're doing a new potion, the shrinking solution. Now Draco reveals his true reason for sitting at Harry and Ron's table.

"Sir, I'll need help cutting up these daisy roots, because of my arm" Draco states.

"Cut Draco's roots Weasley" Snape orders. Ron grows brick red.

"There's nothing wrong with your arm" Ron grumbles.

"Weasley, you heard Professor Snape; cut up these roots" Draco says smugly. Ron cut them roughly so that they were all different sizes before giving them to Draco. Who of course complained to Snape. Who ordered Ron to switch his precisely cut roots with Draco's. He then told Harry to skin Draco'sshrivelfig.

A few cauldrons away, Neville was in trouble. Neville regularly went to pieces in Potions lessons; it was his worst subject, and his great fear of Professor Snape made things ten times worse. His potion, which was supposed to be a bright, acid green, had turned orange. "Orange, Longbottom" Snape says, ladling some up and allowing to splash back into the cauldron. So that everyone in the room could see.

"Orange. Tell me, boy, does anything penetrate that thick skull of yours? Didn't you hear me say, quite clearly, that only one cat spleen was needed? Didn't I state plainly that a dash of leech juice would suffice? What do I have to do to make you understand, Longbottom?" he asks Neville.

Neville was pink and trembling. He looked as though he was on the verge of tears. "Please, sir please, Jack and I can help Neville put it right" Hermione states. I nod my head in agreement.

"I don't remember asking you to show off, Miss Granger" Snape sneers. "Longbottom, at the end of this lesson we will feed a few drops of this potion to your toad and see what happens. Perhaps that will encourage you to do it properly" he states. Neville begs for my help and I give him silent tips while Hermione continues on with our potions.

"Hey, Harry, Jack have you heard? Daily Prophet this morning — they reckon Sirius Black's been sighted" Seamus says as he burrows Harry's brass scales.

"Where?" Harry asks him.

"Duff town, a muggle sported him and called the hotline" Seamus states. I groan in annoyance, no way I'll be allowed to go to Hogsmeade now.  Class ends and we all gather around Neville's cauldron so that Snape can test his potion.

"Watch what happens to Longbottom's toad. If he has managed to produce a Shrinking Solution, it will shrink to a tadpole. If, as I don't doubt, he has done it wrong, his toad is likely to be poisoned" Snape explains.  He trickled a few drops of the potion down Trevor's throat.There was a moment of hushed silence, in which Trevor gulped; then there was a small pop, and Trevor the tadpole was wriggling in Snape's palm.

Snape turns Trevor pack into a toad before turning to me. "Five points from Gryffindor" he states. "When I told Miss Grange not to help Longbottom, the same went to you" he says. "Class dismissed" he he announces. Once Hermione and I left we hide in a dark corner using our time turners. Once we finished our Ancient Runes class we ran back to the Potions corridor.

Then ran up the stairs to the entrance hall where Harry and Ron were waiting for us. "How did you do that?" Ron asks us confused. Hermione and I ask 'what?' at the same time. "One minute you were right behind us, the next moment, you were back at the bottom of the stairs again" he states.

"Oh we forgot something and went back to..." I start to say. When Hermione exclaims 'oh no!'. We turn to see her bag had split open. Told her she should of used the extension charm.

"Why are you carrying all these around with you?" Ron asks her.

"You know how many subjects Jack and I are taking. Couldn't hold these for me, could you?" she asks handing me her books. I do so and she repairs her bag. She places the books back inside and we go to lunch.

Hermione and I had Muggle Studies before going back in time for DADA. We arrived in DADA classroom to see Uncle Remus leading the others to the staff break room. Where Uncle Snape left once we entered. We stand in front of a cupboard with something stuck inside. "Would anyone like to venture a guess as to what is inside?" he asks us.

"That's a boggart that is" Dead states.

"Very good, now can anyone tell me what a boggart looks like?" Lupin asks.

"No one knows!" Hermione and I state. "Boggarts are shape-shifters, the take the form of whatever a particular person fears most" Hermione explains. "That's what makes them so..." I start to say.

"So terrifying yes" he states. He then tells us the incantation used to defeat a boggart and how to use it. He has Neville demonstrate as a boggart Snape and made it wear his grandmother's clothes. Everyone laughed and then we line up to take turns against it. Dean goes next and it turns into severed hand and he used the spell making it get caught in  a mouse trap. Ron goes next and a giant spider appears. He made roller-skates appear on its feet and it couldn't stay up.

Then Padma goes up and a giant snake appears. She turns it into a Jack in the Box. Harry went to go next but Lupin blocked his way. The boggart turned into a full moon and he turned it into a deflating balloon. Neville then finished it off and it disappeared for good. Lupin gave everyone who went against the boggart five points, Neville ten for facing it twice. Then gave Dean, Hermione and I five points each for answering the questions at the start of class.

"Very well, everyone, an excellent lesson. Homework, kindly read the chapter on Boggarts and summarize it for me...to be handed in on Monday. That will be all" Lupin states and the others leave.

"Uncle, why didn't you let Harry face the boggart?" I ask him confused.

"I'd think that would be obvious Jack, if Voldemort suddenly appeared there would be panic" he states.

"Ok, well I got homework to do" I say going to leave. Only to have McGonagall and Snape block my way. "Can I help you professors?" I ask sweetly.

"You know very well what this is about" Snape tells me. I sigh as I sit down in a chair. "With Black so close, we have deemed it unsafe for you to go to Hogsmeade" he states.

"But I was really looking forward to seeing the Shrieking Shack" I whine.

"You can go after Black is caught" McGonagall states. "But as of now you are banned from visiting Hogsmeade" she tells me.

"Both officially and unofficially" Lupin states. I give him an innocent smile. "Now run along and do your homework" he tells me and I leave them. Going to the library and join Hermione we started to do our homework.
