Ch. 8: Rise of the Antipocalypse
As Antisepticeye hovered and shot through the city night like a ray of electricity, Jacksepticeye closely followed behind, swinging hard and fast and charging along the buildings whenever needed. Anti's maneuvering was oddly strange though, like everything else about him, but fast nonetheless. It was as if he was mocking the septic slinging superhero. This theory was confirmed when Anti actually started laughing at Jack as the chase went on.
"Yea keep laughing fly-boy!" Jack shouted. "You'll never be Heath Ledger!" he mockingly added.
Though that didn't really 'insult' the doppelganger, it did manage to spark a reaction nonetheless. Anti continued to take evasive action and laugh for a moment before he started shooting volts of electricity at his pursuer.
"Woah!" Jack shouted as he let himself drop to avoid the hit, before catching himself with another web.
As he kept flying, Anti kept unleashing his rays of lightning, each volt looking to zap the superhero and knock him to the ground. But Jack though was not only quick, but clever. Dodging the streaks of lightning was no easy task, but having even just a single one of them hitting it's target proved to be just as challenging for the villain. The Irishman kept his swing and dodge motion while staying in full pursuit of his nemesis, avoiding every strike with smooth, swift maneuvering while keeping Anti in his sights. That was until, the rays of electricity just stopped and Anti glided his way into one of the buildings.
Jack, not letting up in his chase, followed Antiseptic into the building, crashing through the window and rolling himself into a fighter's stance. Anti now had both feet on the floor as he stood and watched his prey with an ear-to-ear grin, streaks of lightning motioning over his body with spots of light running up his body.
"Yo Anti, I thought demons were supposed to be scarier then the vampires from Twilight" he mocked, resulting in the villain shooting a lightning strike from his hand. But Jack, thanx to his quickness, he was able to dodge the lightning strike. However, knowing how fast electricity can travel, Jack just barely dodged the attack, and was caught by surprise when the next one hit him. The impact of the attack sent the hero flying out another window, but he shot two webs at either side of the newly paved entrance to pull himself back inside. Once he was back inside, Anti tried to follow up in his attack, only for Jack to combine his webs and speed to bring himself right into an attack on the demon.
However, just like Felix's fist and Robin's bullets, he just went straight through the evil doppelganger. Jack ended up just bouncing off his butt and rolling and sliding across the floor. Luckily, the building, or at least the level they were on, was empty and abandoned, like it had been cleared out and nobody else used it or it was just forgotten. So Jack didn't hafta worry about smacking in to anything, but that didn't stop the landing, tumbling and sliding itself from being a bitch. Jack even wound up on the other side of the large room before he finally managed to stop.
"Ow! That was my ass you dickface!" Jack angrily shouted as he slowly regained his feet, Anti just continuing to grin and walking closer as he did.
But by now, Jack was starting to get worried. He couldn't catch him with his webs, he couldn't physically hurt or even touch him in any way, and he could barely even dodge those lightning strikes. This fight was starting to seem damn near impossible. But Jack wasn't gonna let that get to him, he knew the importance of this fight was too big for him to fail, and he would not let that happen.
"I can sense your fear growing, it's only making me stronger!" he stated before Jack began firing web bullets at him, just to see if they would do anything. But all they did was burn and evaporate on impact. "Just like your friend's, just like your family's!" Anti continued, infuriating the Irishman. This had led Jack to just deciding to go all out and give it his best shot, whatever else he had left. But like the other times, nothing landed, and Anti just laughed. "You wanna see something truly scary?" he asked after Jack went right through him and onto the floor. "Let me show you!" he added before Jack turned, and suddenly, Antiseptic's right eye just starting glowing.
Whatever that glow coming from his eye was, the minute Jack's right eye, Septic Sam, caught it, he felt a burning grudging pain in it. Jack first grunted, and then hissed, at the enormous pain he was now feeling in one of his top advantages. He was starting to recover after a minute, but once he reopened his eyes, Anti was gone. Not only was that bad enough, but Jack's vision in his right eye was now screwed up as well. He could still see, but everything was blurry now, and whatever special abilities Septic Sam had, were not working now.
Jack tried to search for Anti all around the building the same way he usually could, but his super eye was useless now, he couldn't find, or hardly even see anything. Not being able to track down his archenemy or see him, jack was starting to get more panicked then he usually would in a situation like this. He spun around all through the room in search for him, knowing Anti wouldn't just run off right when he had Jack in his grasp, and readied himself for the next attack. "Where are you?!" he shouted. "What do you want from me?!"
"Exactly what ur little girlfriend said, for you to join me!" he answered from somewhere around the room. "To be in control of everything! To have everything within my grasp, all the power I want, and for you to give that back to me!" he added vengefully.
Then suddenly, Jack spun around and threw a punch at Anti from the sound of his voice. But again, he only went through the villain, and then felt probably the sharpest and most intense pain he could remember ever feeling. It was the feeling of a knife getting driven into his back, directly to the spine. The Irishman screamed to where his voice shattered every other window in the room and even left a few cracks in the ceiling. It wasn't until he felt the knife yanked out when he stopped, and then collapsed to the floor with no feeling in his legs.
He tried to get up with all of his strength and will, but was only met with more pain. He then peaked over his shoulder at the sound of his demonic attacker walking towards him with the blood covered knife in his hand. "Do you see now why I am meant to rule?" he questioned sinisterly and arrogantly. "Do you see where your love, your hope and ur 'positive mental attitude' gets you?! No-one...is stronger then I am, no-one...is more powerful...then me!" he stated full of pride before grabbing Jack by the back of his suit and teleporting somewhere away.
The experience of getting jolted somewhere else, combined with the pain he was feeling, left Jack dazed and slightly disoriented. But it wasn't enough to keep Jack from recognizing his whereabouts. Anti had taken him to the local newspaper, where many startled reporters and journalists were either backing away or getting their cameras out. "Do you see your reluctant hero now?! How he came so far, but was no match for me?!" he evily went on. "He can't keep you safe, he can't stop me! No-one can!" he then teleported again, keeping Jack in his grasp as he did.
This time, to Robin's police station. They popped up at the top of the stairs inside Robin's unit, in front of everyone in the office, resulting in dozens of officers and detectives scurrying around with pistols drawn. "Do you see what happens when you waste your efforts into being a hero? The price you pay for standing against me?!" he continued, making sure they could all see the weakened, beaten, defenseless hero, striking fear into every last one of them. Jack wanted to do something to stop all of this, but he couldn't, he was deadweight now. "It is pointless, you are all mine now!"
He then teleported himself and Jack to a festival happening south of the city. It was a festival filled with fans of Jacksepticeye, honoring their favorite superhero. They had all already seen the breaking news bulletin that occured just moments ago, and a guy with a phone had live streamed the events at the police station right after. Now, they were here, in front of all of them. The two rivals popped up on the stage in front of the crowd, leaving the whole area with gasps and horrific, disbelieving expressions.
"Listen to me!" he demanded, silencing all in attendance. "You have all seen, first hand, what I am capable of! You have all seen what has happened to your favorite BOY! And you will all see exactly what I have in store for all of you!" he evily stated with a wide grin, continuing to relentlessly scare everyone in the crowd, as well as taking away all of their hope. "I am here now, and you will all know my name, Antisepticeye!" he continued pridefully. "If you are all wondering what I am, if your favorite boy will come back and save you, or if any of YOU can stop me! Well, you can't, there are no strings on me! And for all of you, this isn't over! Ur all just my puppets! This is my world!"
After scaring the crap out of every person he could and tryna make himself out to be a tyrannical god, he teleported Jack back to the rooftop of Schneep's clinic. Anti finally released Jack and pushed him over on his back. Jack's eye was now starting to recover, but he still couldn't move his legs, and that brought back many bad memories. "Just like old times, right?" he grinned. Jack's fury growing stronger but unable to do anything about it, and thus returning the familiar helpless feelings he had all those years ago.
"There is nothing that you, your friends, or anyone else can do to stop me! The only option you have now, is to join me" he offered with a cocky, mischievous grin.
"Go back to hell where you came from!" Jack shot back with a slightly strained voice.
"Look around you, this is hell! This... is where I belong!" he countered.
"You really are delusional, this world... will never be your's, and I'd rather die...then join you" Jack panted with gritted teeth.
"Well, since you insist" Anti shrugged before raising the knife. "Say goodbye!" but then, Schneep appeared from behind and boldly stabbed the demon in the back with his scalpel, and it actually connected too. But all it did was stop Anti, it didn't seem like it had any real effect on him. He reached back and just yanked the tool out, without even grunting or wincing, and turning towards the now frightened doctor. "Who do you think you've been watching all this time?" and then stabbed the surgeon in the heart with the scalpel.
"NOOOOO!!!" Jack screamed, but to no avail. Schneep collapsed before his eyes, and all Jack could do was lie there and watch helplessly.
Then, the villain turned his attention back to Jack. "See? That doctor thought he could safe you, but he was weak!" Anti mocked, and whatever sorrow and heartbreak Jack received was now turning into full on, absolute rage. He gave his nemesis the most intense death stare that he could've possibly, and had ever, given anyone. "If you wanted him back so badly, then why didn't you save him? You could have stopped me, but you just watched, as THIS HAPPENED!"
"Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Jack had had enough, and just started screaming his rage out, also realizing that he hadn't tried that before. But whatever it was doing to Anti, it was working. He was covering his ears and somehow, the super sonic scream was like disrupting him. It got even worse for him when Signe returned and started shooting her own streaks of lightning at him. Jack never would've thought using lightning against lightning would've worked, but it was.
The scream and the lightning were all tearing at the villain, until he was finally knocked away by a flying fist that somehow managed to connect this time. Anti almost fell off the building, but he caught himself and started hovering again. He then just looked back down at Jack, grinned from ear-to-ear and said, "Enjoy the show" before disappearing again.
Once he was gone, Signe and Felix ran to Jack's aid, but he was crawling towards his cousin's body. "Schneep! Schneep, look at me!" he demanded with tears forming in his eyes, removing his mask before lightly tapping his cousin's cheeks until the doc's eyes reopened.
"J-Jack, I tried" he strained with blood in his mouth.
"Ssshhh, you did good, now please just stay with me" he pleadingly sobbed.
"It's ok cuz" he assured. "Zank you, you never gave up on me" he quietly said, the blood muffling his voice, but not to the point where Jack couldn't hear. "Now, do not....give up....on anyone else, not even... yourself" he kindly requested, and Jack had no words, only streams of water beginning to run down his cheek. "I love you couzin" and those were the last words Schneep could utter out, before taking his final breath.
Jack could no longer speak at all, only cry at the loss of his cousin, and one of his life-long best friends. After everything they had been through together, his cousin, his best friend, the man who had saved his life and stuck with him no matter what, Doctor Schneeplestein, was now gone. Jack could only bury his face in the body of his cousin and cry uncontrollably. Signe herself, had tears in her eyes as she got on her knees and placed a hand on Jack's shoulder. And Felix, out of both sympathy and respect, knelt down to one knee, for Jack and Schneep.
"I'm so sorry Jack" Signe cried.
"I'm sorry too bro" Pewds chimed in. "I only knew him tonight, but that man's probably one of the bravest I have ever seen" he honored, but Jack still couldn't answer, only continue to grief and cry.
However, his attention was soon drawn away by something, something that sounded like marching in the streets. He raised his head off of the surgeon and wiped the water off of his eyes before turning over to the late night city streets. Septic Sam had fully recovered now and this allowed Jack to see what was happening, despite being in the center of a rooftop. What he saw, out of everything he had ever seen, was the creepiest and most shocking thing he had witnessed in his life. It was all of the people in the city, marching together as one, with eyes completely covered in black.
That must've been why Antiseptic was jumping around with Jack, to create enough fear and doubt to take control of everyone in the city. He had done it, he took over everyone's minds, he won. And this was confirmed when they all stopped marching and in one big unison, simultaneously said,
"Now, I am in control!"
"Oh shite balls"
