Ch. 1: Title/Coming Home
Nighttime, somewhere off the coast of Belfast, Ireland. Members of an Irish mob family were currently bringing in a shipment of automatic rifles smuggled overseas. While the boss and his guards were talking with the guys in charge of the shipping inside the trailer, many of his henchmen and thugs-for-hire were carrying the boxes of guns from the shipping containers to the trucks. However, they were unaware of the other Irishman, a green suited one to be exact, that had just rushed in.
"WHAT'RE YOU GUYS DOING?!" Jack shouted, alarming the nicely suited criminals and causing them to drop the boxes they were carrying. "Uh, oops" Jack laughed as they all stared in confusion and horror. Jack was just casually leaning against a stack off boxes, wearing the same green and black with a little bit of blue suit. Only instead of the gloves he previously had, he now had green mermaid gauntlets concealing his lower hands and wrist like Mark did. "Wow, no need to look so scared bro" he mocked at the horrific expressions they had, until one got angry and drew out his pistol, only for it to be snatched away by Jack's septic web. "Let's shake, rattle and roll bitches"
Jack flipped over the attacker as he came charging in for a tackle. Then, shot webs at the back of his shoulders as he flipped before yanking and throwing him at one of his friends, causing both of them to smack right into another container. Jack then followed his attack with a jumping spinning heal kick to knock out another mobster. He then shot webs at another gangster to pull him straight into a kick that sent him flying away. The final attacker then went up to Jack with a drawn pistol, to which Jack ducked and countered with a spin kick.
"Yeah baby!" he triumphantly celebrated. But then, three of their other friends arrived and started firing off on Jack. He quickly sped away to avoid the hits and circled around to knock em out with his infamous running slaps. "Woo!" he cheered again, until a guy came up from behind with a gun to Jack's head. The crime fighter flipped in a way where he was able to capture the assailant's arm, taking him down before snapping his arm with ease and making him scream. "Wow, you look dead inside" Jack noted before knocking him out with a punt.
"So uh, am I the best yet?" Jack wondered with a shrug, until bullets started flying over his head. "Wwaaahhh!" he screamed as he sped around and behind the attackers, who were quick to follow his movements. "Wait, wait!" he held out his hands in defense. "All this violence is meaningless, can't we just talk it out?" he offered, but all he got in return was looks of confusion and some slight, mocking laughs. "Well, in that case, high fives all around" he held up his hands, increasing their confusion until Jack sped around and knocked out all of them at once. "Oh, sorry, I fergot to mention I tend to high five people in the face. I don't know why, it's just a habbit I guess"
Now that all of the gunfire and chaos was no longer happening, the mafia boss and everybody in the trailer came rushing out with their pistols out. "What in the hell is-oh shite" the boss himself gasped when he saw all of his men unconscious. His attention was quickly drawn by police sirens rushing up, stopping in front of the criminals before the officers jumped out with guns raised and shouting orders at the thugs. Jack looked on from a crane that was hanging over on the side as the head honcho and his boys surrendered and were taken in by the police. "Now that's what I call a fun time" he nodded.
Jack: Journey of the Septiceye
X
Brighton, England. The next day...
In this city, Jack has a half Irish, half German cousin named Doctor Henrik Von Schneeplestein, or Schneep as Jack calls him. Schneep is a surgeon who runs his very own medical clinic and is considered to be better then most hospitals, despite a few allegations that he isn't really licensed. If that's not weird enough, he and Jack looked exactly like each other too. Nonetheless, he was a brilliantly unorthodox doctor with a great business and he and Jack were really close. Jack had helped Schneep many years ago after he and his wife had a bad falling out and kept him from losing his cool, let alone his business and Schneep was the one who operated on Jack and saved his life after the horrific attack. He was also the only person outside of Jack's friends back in America that knew about his "secret identity."
Jack had called him the previous night to let him know he was coming home and asked if he could stay at his place for a short while. Schneep didn't hesitate to agree, being the kind of guy who would happily do anything for Jack. He knew it was him the minute he heard a knock on the door. "Jackie boy!" he cheered once he opened the door.
"Schneep!" Jack cheered back as he brought his cousin in for a hug.
"It is so good to see you cuz" the doctor acknowledged. "Please, come in" he granted and Jack entered. Schneep also happened to live right above where his medical clinic was and had a really nice apartment with his office. Jack and his cousin sat on opposite sides of his office desk. "So, how's the hero life been going?" Schneep asked.
"Going good, I've been doing a lot lately" he nodded with a smile.
"So I've heard, taking on zat mob boss and his people was a big move" Schneep noted.
"Yea, but I still haven't found him yet, that mission I've been on?" Jack questioned notably with a frown.
"Don't worry Jack, you will find that spawn of hell soon enough" he assured optimistically. "But you need some stability in your life, you can't just fight crime and hunt demonic figures twenty-four seven" he informed. "You need somezing that can give you rest and peace, somezing to hold on to when dis is over" he went on notably.
"Like what, a girlfriend?" Jack laughed.
"Maybe zat, friends, good company or even a regular job" he suggested. "Just something to enjoy and bring light to your life, not just spending your days hunting demons and taking on the worst of people" he stated. "Cos believe me, that's no life to live at all and it will tear you from the inside out" he continued importantly.
Jack was silent for a momemt, considering his kind cousin's words, and then checked the time. "I'll keep that in mind, I gotta unpack and then go see Robin" he replied and stood to start with his priorities.
"Alright, just zink about it Jack" Schneep pleaded.
"I will, I promise" Jack laughed.
X
Not far from Schneep's clinic and home, in downtown Brighton, was a hotel called the Majestic. It was extremely large, had several different ball rooms, galleries, stores and just a fun, fancy place to be. It's the same hotel Jack not only lived in, but professionally managed as well. It was also the one Jack's good pal Robin, a local police officer, stayed in the last time Jack was here. Now, he was returning to seek out his best friend and some help with him.
Jack walked through the giant front doors of the enormous skyscraper home that could easily fit maybe five hundred or more people in it and couldn't help but stop to enjoy the familiarity. He was left in awe of the familiar lobby, having missed this place and now feeling right back at home. He continued to gaze around at the beautiful and familiar area, loving the remembrance and comforting feeling. That was until he heard, "Sean McLoughlin?" and turned to see the hotel owner herself, a well suited, not much older English woman and a family friend, approach. "Why It is! How are you?" she asked ecstatically.
"I'm good, how are you?" he smiled as he shook the lady's hand.
"Much better now, what can I do for you?" she kindly asked.
"Um, I'm looking fer Robin actually" he noted.
"Oh, I'm afraid he has a his own home now" she informed. "He's an inspector now" she added.
"An inspector?" Jack asked in amazement.
"Yes, I hear he's quite the case worker" she continued. "Why don't you wait right here and I'll give him a ring, he'll be delighted to see you"
"Alright, I think I'll visit the art gallery while ur at it" he stated.
"Go right ahead, you know where it is" she smiled and Jack headed for the escalator to get to the third floor.
Jack made his way down the art gallery, admiring every painting, sculpture, and all the other beautiful pieces of art work around. It seemed that they had some sort of event going on today regarding the art gallery. They didn't just have admirers or even the usual stuff today, they had all sorts of artist and more different types of art work then they usually had. There was one in particular that really caught Jack's eye, it was a painting of himself, or Jacksepticeye to be exact. It was him with his suit and mask and everything, and it was done to perfection.
Jack stepped closer to the absolutely perfect painting of him, scoffing in amazement at how well it was done. "You like the painting?" he heard a female voice ask and turned to see a young girl around his age sitting in a chair next to him.
"I love it, it's perfectly well done" he replied, causing her to blush. "Are you the artist?" he asked.
"Yes, I am" she nodded, standing from her chair. "Signe Hansen" he offered her hand. "And ur Sean McLoughlin, arent you?" she checked curiously.
"Yes, and I know you too, I've seen ur work before, it's great" he complimented as he shook her hand, making her blush again. "But how do you know me?"
"Well, ur kind of a legend around here" she stated happily.
"Oooo, I'm flattered" he crossed his arms and made himself look cool, making her giggle. "But it's really cool to meet you"
"Likewise, and I'm flattered you enjoy my painting" she replied. "Are you a fan of his?" she tilted towards the character in her drawing.
"Uh, you could say that" he smiled and she giggled. "What about you?"
"An admirer really" she nodded. "He's different in many ways and he does good things, he's really admirable in every way" she stated, and now Jack had to hide his own blush.
"Well, admirers are good, and I'm sure he would've loved to hear that" he stated gratefully.
"Thanx" she smiled before glancing between him and her art work. "You know, you and him look very similar" she noted interestingly.
Now Jack was starting to get slightly nervous. "Really?" he asked like he was surprised and flattered. He took a quick glance at the painting to try and play this off cool. "Huh, we do, never noticed that before" he covered. "I guess I just have...one of those faces, which is actually what they all tend to say I guess" he awkwardly went on.
Signe giggled at his awkwardness. "Plus, isn't Jack considered a nickname for Sean in Ireland?" she asked, slightly intrigued and interested.
"As a matter of fact, most of my friends call me Jack" he nodded. "Why the sudden interest?" he wondered, slightly worried. "You think I'm him?"
"Are you?" she playfully interrogated, but then the two just giggled. "No but seriously, I just think it's interesting and amzing how similar you two look" she explained.
"Maybe it's just the painting" he shrugged.
Signe took a minute to think and consider her options. "Well then, how bout I just draw you?" she offered, surprising the Irishman. "You wearing Jacksepticeye's outfit and see?" she confirmed, Jack was surprised that she would offer to draw him.
"Right now?" he asked.
"Yea, I'm a really quick drawer, won't take long at all" she promised. "There's also that thing right behind you if you want to lean against it" she noted, Jack turning to see the square shaped pole supporting the roof. He briefly considered doing this and was actually feeling very up to it. That, and he also remembered what cousin Schneep said earlier and figured this might be a great opportunity.
"Ok" he agreed with a smile.
"Yea?" she checked and he nodded. "Alright, just stand right there and let's get to it" she instructed as she retook her seat, Jack leaning against the stance. The artist quickly dove in her bag and brought out her scrabble book with a pencil and got comfortable before beginning.
"You better draw me pretty" Jack warned.
"Go fuck yourself" she playfully shot back, making him laugh.
Jack had to admit, this girl was beyond adorable. Not only was she cute, she had a fun personality, and it wasn't hard to tell either. He honestly really liked her, she was just fun to be around and it felt really nice to be around someone like her. Plus, somehow, being a model for her was actually quite amusing. She wasn't kidding when she said she drew fast, because it was only about ten, maybe fifteen, minutes before she was done.
"That's it, it's done" she happily informed, Jack bouncing himself off the pole and looked to see her work. "I hafta say, you two could be twins" she noted as she showed Jack her terrific work of him wearing the super suit. He glanced between the two different pieces of art work, easily noticing the similarities between the two. "Ur quite the natural too" she kindly added with a sweet, adorable smile.
"Thankyou, we really do lookalike" he nodded with a smile.
"I told you" she smiled, very pleased with herself. "You make a pretty good model" she acknowledged, now seeming a little shy.
"You make a pretty good artist" he complimented back, making her blush again.
"Maybe we can...do some more or even just hang out later? See what else we're good at?" she shyly offered, and words could not describe how badly Jack wanted to accept.
"I would love that, I really would" he nodded. "But I've got a really busy day today" he regrettably informed.
"Well, in that case" she quickly wrote something on her drawing of Jack before tearing it off and handing it to him. "You can hold on to this as a token, and for when ur not too busy" she stated with a smile.
Jack took the drawing and noticed she wrote her number down on the upper right cormer. "I'll hold on to this" he nodded and she smiled gratefully. "You sure you don't want this?" he quickly checked.
"Ah don't worry, I've got my own" she nodded towards the painting on the wall. "Got to go, I'll see you later" she smiled before she began walking down ghe hall.
"You too" Jack called back, feeling his heart thumbing as she peaked over her shoulder while walking. Jack feeling proud that he made a good impression and whistling at how amazing that was, how amazing she was at that.
After she was gone, the hotel owner arrived to inform him that Robin was on his way. Jack thanked her for the good news and decided to pay a visit to another area he was exceptionally fond of. That area was a room on one of the higher floors, the music room. There, Jack found something he missed all too much and was very ecstatic to see again, his own personal drumset. "Nnnooo way" he geeked out, feeling even more joyous now.
A few minutes later, Robin walked in to witness Jack drumming out the end of one his favorite songs, Chop Suey. Jack came to the end of the song and smiled upon seeing his good friend, setting down the sticks and removing his head sets. "Ur a little rusty" Robin informed.
"Well it's been a while" Jack shrugged and robin laughed. "Come here man" Jack rose from the seat and walked around the drumset to give his good friend a hug.
"It's so good to see you brotha" Robin happily stated as he accepted the hug. "Wow, I can't believe this, I mean look at you" he enthusiastically gestured to Jack's whole body.
"What? You didn't hear I was walking and talking again?" Jack asked.
"I heard about it, I just wasn't sure to believe it or not" he noted. "How did you do it?"
"I guess it's one of the benefits of having a rich caregiver" he shrugged.
"That's great" Robin laughed. "So how have you been man?"
"I've been doing good, really busy too" he replied. "Sorry I didn't come to see you sooner, I had to take care of some stuff back in Ireland" he informed.
"Hey that's fine, I'm just glad ur here now" he assured. "You look like you've been doing good"
"Thanx and so do you" he complimented. "I heard ur a regular Sherlock Holmes now" he noted and Robin laughed.
"Are you really surprised?" he asked. "We did used to joke about it a lot"
"And you did pretty well even before now" he added.
"So, you wanna get a drink or something?" he offered.
"Actually, I'm not just hear to catch up and socialize" he regrettably noted. "I'm also wanting to use your detective skills"
Robin furrowed his eyebrows in surprise and intrigue. "I'm listening, what's up?" he crossed his arms.
"Are you the one working that Panabaker case? Where the woman was accused of killing her family?" he asked.
"It's one of em" robin nodded.
"I'd like to help out, I think her case might be either connected or similar with my family's murder" Jack stated.
Robin seemed a little surprised that this was where Jack was going with this and had been following. He wasn't sure how exactly this would help, but knew it would be better to go ahead and sort this out with Jack. "Well, I'm not doing anything else today" he noted. "Why don't we go down to the station and talk it over?" he suggested and Jack nodded.
X
Half an hour later, Jack was now in Robin's office at the police plaza, sitting at his desk while Robin brought the case files. "These are everything we have on Clarissa Panabaker" he informed as he laid out every piece of information for Jack. "Don't look past that yellow tag there please, those are the crime scene photos and they're fairly graphic" he urgently added.
"Thanx for the warnin" Jack laughed as he looked through the pages and Robin sat across from him.
"So far, everything we have points directly at her" he continued as Jack looked through everything. "However, the weird thing is that she claims that it was something else, something that was like....controlling her or whatever" he went on. "But what makes you think this is anything like you and ur family?"
"Because I think she might be telling the truth" he answered, surprising the inspector. "The things she described, they sound like some of the stuff I experienced myself" he explained.
"How so?" Robin asked confusenly, still not fully sure as to where he was going with this.
Jack tried to figure out a way he could explain so he would understand, knowing how crazy all of this would sound. "What if I told you that what killed my family was something a lot stranger and different then what you would expect?" he questioned, increasing Robin's confusion. "Like, I'll put it to you this way, did you hear about all those superheroes that have been popping up?" he asked.
"Hasn't everybody?" he laughed. "That shit is crazy"
"Safe to say ur perception on reality took a dramatic change" Jack nodded.
"Yea, a weird one at that" he scoffed.
"Well what if I told you that was killed my family was just as weird, or as different as them?" he asked.
Now Robin was starting to get the bigger picture of where Jack was going with this. "What're you saying? That the thing that killed ur family was like a.....a super villain?" he finally broke a question that Jack was waiting for.
"Actually, believe or not, he's something even worse then that" Jack stated, catching Robin by surprise.
Robin took a minute to try and contemplate all of this, he knew he was gonna hafta keep as opened of a mind as he could for what he was sure he was about to hear. He let out a deep sigh as he leaned further back in his chair, ready to listen. "Ok, start at the beginning, and tell me everything" he instructed, and so Jack did. "Ok, so this thing that attacked you and killed ur family is a demon?" he asked as he paced around the desk, tryna wrap his head around all of this.
"I know it sounds crazy, but I swear it's the truth" he urged, the detective still pacing back and forth on his side of the desk. "Rob, I know trying to believe all of this to be true isn't easy, but all I'm asking is that you believe in me, like you were the only cop who believed I was innocent" he pleaded.
Robin finally stopped pacing and looked Jack straight in the eyes before letting out another breath through the nose. "I do Jack, I don't know how because this shit is too weird, but I believe ya" he nodded assuringly. "Just what exactly makes you think this thing...is somehow what caused what happened to miss Panabaker and her family?" he questioned.
"Because that's what I've been doing since I got better, tracking him down" he informed before digging into the bag he brought with him and took out all of his own notes. "I've been following every event that has happened and seems related to him" he stated as he showed robin the map with all the pines in it with news articles and pieces of info regarding each of the cases. "These are all the massacre cases that are in relation to families, friend groups, work colleagues, etcetera" he went on. "All supposedly caused by law abiding citizens and community members, all have claimed to have had some nightmarish experience beforehand and none of which have personally had or have a relative that's had a history of mental illness" he stated clearly and notably.
"My God" Robin sighed as he looked through everything Jack gathered. "And there's even a pattern too" he noted and Jack leaned closer. "See? All of the people he's done this to are well known, respected, admirable, and fully loved people" he informed. "And it looks like these....accurances are happening more frequently, like he's preparing for something"
"Like what?" Jack asked.
"I don't know, but we're gonna find out" he promised. "It's gonna take more then some bizarre theory to prove Panabaker's innocence, but we'll continue to work on all of this and maybe we can even get ur family's case reopened, and we'll just go from there" he stated notably.
Jack blew out a breath in relief, happy to have gotten Robin to understand and help him out. "Thankyou, this really means a lot to me" he stated whole-heartedly.
"Hey, anything for a brother" he assured and gave Jack a bro-shake. Then, their attention was caught by a knock on Robin's door. "Excuse me" he said before going outside the door and closing it behind him. Jack continued to look at everything laid out on the desk in front of him for a moment before glancing over his shoulder. Robin was talking with one of his colleagues and he seemed distressed, waving his arms around and such. Jack rose from his chair with furrowed eyebrows before a minute later when Robin walked back in. "I'm sorry Jack, we're gonna hafta pick this up some other time" he regrettably informed as picked up everything he had on the desk.
"No it's fine, ur a busy guy" he nodded understandably. "Is everything ok?" he quickly checked in concern.
"Ugh" he sighed. "Remember when I said this was one of the cases I was working?" he checked and Jack nodded. "Well, this other one I'm working on is a secretary testifying against her crooked business man of a boss and somehow...his damn lawers got the trial moved to an hour in a half from now" he informed.
"And that's bad?" Jack asked.
"It is when you don't have enough time to get a decent security team to guard the witness" he nodded.
"I wouldn't worry, ur a pretty bad arse detective" he positively noted.
"Ha, thanx" he laughed. "I just hope that if there's any attempt on her life, they're really sloppy ones" he hoped as he strapped on his jacket and rushed out the door.
But then, Jack just smirked and said, "I wouldn't worry about it" WHOOSH!
X
As Robin and all of his fellow officers got his witness into the safely secured van, Jack, who was now suited up, kept a protective watch over the group. He crouched down on the ledge of a building just down the street from the line of vehicles and watched as they began to drive off. "Alright Sam, do ur thing" he stated and his right eye, the one he calls septic Sam, began to show him everything he wanted to see.
Septic Sam revealed all of the people inside the buildings that were close by, as well as their outline and colors to determine whether they were good or bad and what they were all doing. For a moment, he was seeing mostly greens, any person that was glowing red wasn't really doing much. But then, Jack noticed one red person in particular that had a sniper and was setting up right by a window. "Alright, here we go!!" he called as he jumped off the ledge and began shooting his septic webs and swinging along the city. And while he swung, Robin and the witness continued to anxiously sit and wait while Robin's colleagues drove them to their destination, unaware of the events about to take place around them.
The line of police cars were drawing closer and closer, and the sniper was now set up and ready. First, he'll take out the driver, and once she steps out, the witness. The main car was coming, he had it right in his sights, but then there was suddenly an eye blocking his vision. He pulled back to see what it was, and then froze at the sight of Jacksepticeye hanging upside down. "Peekaboo!" he shouted before flipping in, smashing through the window, kicking the sniper up against the wall and trapping him there with his webs. "All I wanted was a Spiderman kiss" he shrugged.
Meanwhile, Robin and the others drove along their route and kept an insightful watch around them. Robin was sitting to the left of the witness, staring right out the window and glancing at nearly every window and rooftop they saw. He peaked further down one rooftop of a large building they were passing and saw a sniper on the roof, and they were only moving closer to him. "Heads up! We got a-" he stopped when suddenly a black and green blur rushed in and within a split second, the sniper was hanging from the ledge while trapped in some type of webbing.
"What? What is it?" one of his colleagues on the radio called.
"Uh, nothing, false alarm" he retracted, not knowing what the hell just happened but not complaining.
What he didn't know, was all around them, there were assassins that were picked off one by one by Jack. That was until they made it safe to the courthouse. However, across the street from the courthouse was a large chapel. Inside the church bell tower, the last hitman was awaiting the arrival of his mark. He saw her exit the van, walk up the stairs, had her right where he wanted her, and then, "Hey" a voice whispered from behind him, causing him to freeze in fear. "You wanna know what my deepest, darkest secret is?"
Wait for it.
"Aaaaaahhhhhhhh!" Jack's super sonic scream not only deafend the assassin, but the sound ways sent him screaming outta the tower. The people below, Robin included, watched as the screaming man fell closer and closer to the concrete sidewalk. But just before he hit it, he was caught by a string of web. As he struggled, screamed and completely freaked out, Robin and the general public peaked up in time to see the green suited superhero swing away, giving Robin a salute as he did.
Jack made it to an abandoned rooftop, where he stashed his regular clothes and stuff, and rook a seat on the edge. He took his phone outta the bag and checked the time to see that it was only late afternoon. He realized he had the rest of the day to himself now, and decided to take cousin Schneep's advice and give that girl Signe a call.
"Hey, it's me, Jack" he stated after dialing her number. "Sean McLoughlin? The superhero lookalike from the gallery? Yea, it's me" he smiled. "Yea, as it turns out, I'm not as busy as I thought I was today"

"Now, this Jacksepticeye is of great importance to us, and we just confirmed that he is now here in Brighton. And we are also aware that you have a history with him, mister..."
