I looked in shock as I looked at my soul.
It was no longer the normal white monster soul I was used to. Instead, most of it was filled with blackness.. Hate..

"I see you are admiring my work. What do you think?" He said grinning at me.

"You said you would turn things back the way they were!" I said, starting to panic.

"I did... Don't you remember the old days?" He said as his grin widened more, if possible.

I just looked down at my boots, we sat there in a long awkward silence before finally I broke the scream.
"So... Why did you bring me here? What is it that you want me to do?"

"First thing... well let's see.. Boss wanted me to try and train you... but let's have some fun instead. Make sure you aren't just a pile of rubble." He laughed a bit before continuing. "There is a village not too far from here. I want you to burn it down to the ground." I was hesitant for a moment.

This wasn't part of our deal... yet somehow.. It was. How did he know of those past events... Those.... Those shattered memories. I did not want to destroy a whole village. I only wanted a little revenge on my Ex's.. I tried to think quickly of a way to get out of this.

"How exactly do you plan on me to burn down the village, if I have nothing that can burn down the village?"

"I am sure you have your ways.. Just look in the book I assigned to you."

"That was you...?"

"Did you really think that Error would give you such powerful information?" No.. I knew Error had not given me the book, but out of everyone who gifted me it, why him... what was he planning?

I hesitantly picked up the book. I don't know if it was just me but it seemed bigger. I wiped the dirt from the field off the book, and looked in fear.

"Like I said.. I am sure you will have plenty of information. If you need more, I can easily get more from a friend.. He has plenty of free time." The book no longer had a 4 on it. Instead it had an infinite symbol on it. The book seemed much thicker and heavier.

"Well? We don't have forever.." He laughed for a second, "Or at least you don't."

"Oh- um.. I think I found something to use... but just a question... this isn't going to happen or anything. But let's say I don't burn down the village, what would you do?"

"Well, I would see what the boss would like to do with you, and if he gives you to me.. I might make you change.."

("Wait- could've this been an alternate timeline?!" Well.. I have been told to make an alternate timeline about this.. "Oh stars.. Well good thing I was there to take over..." Was that..? "Shut up, and continue please, I think they are getting bored from you just talking about what you might work on.." Okay.. Jeez, why did I make you so mean... "What?" Nothing!)

I took a second to think before sighing and looking through the book to see if there was anything I could use, to do this quickly.
I stopped about a few pages in. "Black Torch" was titled at the top of the page. It was located in a place called Gravity Falls though.. "Um.. Bill? I Found something but it is in a place called Gravity Falls." "Ah Gravity Falls.. It would be good to go back, maybe say hello to Pine Tree.." He laughed, "What did you need me to get for you there?"
"Something called the Black Torch." Just as I said Black Torch, Bill snapped his fingers and suddenly there was a Black Torch in my hands. "How did you.." He interrupted me and pushed me in a direction, I am guessing the direction where the village was. "I will be right back. There should be some matches in your pocket." "Oh, one last thing.

I gulped at his scary voice and headed in the direction he pushed me to.

After a while it didn't take me long to see the small village in the distance. The field seemed to end and there was a giant field of flowers leading to the village.
Now I felt bad.. Why did I have to burn down such a cute town like this? I just hope that everyone here is a bad person so I feel less guilt..

I took a breath before heading to the village.

???'s P.O.V.

I was brushing some dust off my outfit, it fit quite nicely, and was much comfier than that old uniform.I grabbed a few things from the pockets of my old outfit, then I looked at myself in the mirror and smiled at myself. For once, I actually thought I looked nice. I closed my eyes for a few seconds to take in the peaceful quietness. No pissed off generals to yell at me.. My peaceful moment was interrupted by knocking.

"Hey, am I bothering you?" I heard Layla at the door.

"No, you aren't bothering me. I was about to come out, did you need me?" I said as I opened the door to reveal the small girl.

"Nah, I was just making sure everything was okay, and that I wasn't just hallucinating." I smiled at her, and patted her on the head. "Oh! These are for you, some people saw you walk in and said 'Can you hand these to Benefit?'" She said handing me a few multicolored flowers.

I looked at her with confusion while I took the flowers. "Benefit? Are you sure these aren't meant for someone else?"

Now she looked confused. "That is what everyone calls you, but since you seem like you don't recognize that name... Do you remember your name from before you turned into.... That?"

"Yes I remember my name" I said slightly offended.

"Then let's restart... " she said as she stared at me before blinking , then smiling at me. "Hi, Im Layla, what is your name?" I smiled as she introduced herself.

"Hello, Layla, I am Isaac, it is a pleasure to meet you!"

"Isaac, huh? Nah, I like Benefit. You should stick with it. Benefit, Tyche's apprentice sounds much cooler than Isaac, Tyche's apprentice." That tone she spoke in just now.. It is just like his..

"Okay, I will stay with Benefit, just for you." Without thinking I kneeled down to her and hugged her.

"Woah- Are you okay, buddy?"

"Yeah, sorry," I said as I let go of her. I lost my smile for a bit. "Will you give me a tour of town?" I said trying to get my mind off him.

"Oh- of course!" She said before she grabbed my hand and pulled me towards the door.

"Woah- Slow down!" She turned and looked at me before realizing that I was close to collapsing.

"Oh sorry.. It isn't everyday you get to show your hero around town.."

"Oh? How am I your hero? I am just an ordinary person.."

"Well, here.. In this little village, your everyone's hero. You were the one who protected everyone from The Corruption. Well, and ever since that day, no one from the Corruption has been spotted near here, and lots of good things have been happening to the village. That is why you are named Benefit and- Oh sorry.. I am rambling.. We should get going. This way, before it gets too dark to see anything!"

Blue's P.O.V.

I approached the village, it seemed oddly familiar. I shook it off, and pulled out one of the matches. I walked up to the side of a small building and rubbed the match against the wall of the building, and it created a small flame. Very, very small compared to the torch.. How was I going to light this torch with such a small flame?I thought as I put the small fire on the tip of the torch.

The second I set the match near the torch it burst into a big flame. I studied the flame, it was a black flame, and it seemed to give off much more heat than normal. I set the flame near the wooden house, but I hesitated.

Did I really want to do this? No.. I can't do this.. I looked at the setting sun. I pulled the torch back to me. This isn't right.. I could kill so many innocent people.. I should tell Bill I lost the torch. I picked up some dirt and sprinkled it onto the fire. I watched as the black flame slowly died. When the flame was gone, I went back over to the field, and covered it with dirt. Before I left, I triple checked that Bill wouldn't find it.
I headed towards the field I woke up in. Worried what Bill would do to me. At least the village is okay..

~-Time Skip-~

I headed toward the spot, as I approached I saw Bill sitting in the air with a drink in his hand. It didn't take him long to notice me. (I wish my senpai noticed me... "Oh my stars! Narrator that is not what I meant and you know it!" Im so lonely..)

"Well?" He said impatiently.

"Well.. I kinda lost the torch.. So I don't think we can continue this.." I lied, trying my hardest to sound convincing. He gave me a glare that sent a shiver down my spine.

"Right.. And where exactly did you lose it?"

"U-um.. Around the village?"

"Hey.. Blueberry. Do you think I like being lied to?" I was starting to get scared now. Bill snapped his hands and there was the torch. Some dirt fell off it every now and again. "Here, don't lose it again.." I hesitantly grabbed it, I think he saw me hesitate, because one I had the torch in my grasp he was silent.. An eerie silent. "Tell me Blueberry.. Do you want to burn down the village?"

"No.. not really." I said, hoping he wouldn't turn me into a frog or something like that.

"Well then. How about this.. One last deal. You won't have to burn down the village, does that work for you?" I hesitated, last time this happened he found a loophole. I am going to try and make sure that doesn't happen.

"You and I, both of us won't be able to burn down the village... and, what do you want from this?"

"Nothing, you are just as I expected.. You are still a Swap Sans.. you have no use to us, and if these are the terms of the deal you want, so be it." He smiled as he held out his hand and that blue flame appeared around it again.

"Do we have a deal?" He said eerily. I reached out my hand to his, and shook it.
Then... Darkness.



???'s P.O.V.



"Ah.. it has been forever.. Thanks for that, friend."
"No problem.. He wasn't following orders so.. I guess I had no choice."
"Yep.. Anyways, do you still want me to burn down the village?"
"If you want, but that was just a test for your host."
"Meh, Imma do it cuz why not."
I headed towards the village, pulling out the match and lighting the torch. As the village was in view, I lit up the field behind me, so that the people in the village would have nowhere to run. I swiftly headed closer to the village and lit up a house before anyone could realize the field was on fire. The fire spread faster than I expected. Now I am glad Host did all that training. I teleported on a small hill, with many candles and valuables. I watched as the fire spread, and soon, the screams spread just as fast. I set the values behind me on fire too, because why not. It didn't take long for Bill to join the party, and watch all the fun play out. I laughed out loud as all the screams filled my hearing. This was fun..


Benefit's P.O.V.

~-A few minutes before-~

"And this is my favorite place in the whole town! The Good Luck cafe. I always go here after visits with you." The place gave me a calm, safe vibe.
We walked around for a bit after that, just chilling in town square, getting flowers every now and again.

"Do you smell that?" Layla said suddenly. I didn't think I had a sense of smell, but I tried to see if I could. Nope, I couldn't smell anything.

"No.. I can't smell.."
"Well, I think I smell smoke.. Look! There even is smoke over there. Let's go check it out.." I had a bad feeling about this, but I went along with her. It didn't take us long to get to the smoke and see... black fire? Wait... that reminds me of the kind I saw at Luci's! Then it hit me.

"We need to get everyone out of here, NOW!" I said in a worried tone. Before Layla could say anything, screams could be heard. "Get to safety. Don't go near water or the fire! Try to get away from the village!!"

"Why?" She said in a fearful tone.

"No time! Did you hear me everyone? Evacuate!! Get as far away as you can from the village as you can!" I said as loud as I could.

They all followed my orders and tried to flee. I dropped the flowers I was given from before and turned to where the fire was fast. I ran up to it. I am the village's protector, I am going to try and save as many people as I can. I entered a burning building, and saw two ladies, coughing on the ground. I pickled them up and set them outside, before telling them you get away from the village. Luckily they still coil walk so they supported each other as they headed away from the flames. As I looked around, the whole village was in flames, this was spreading faster than it should have.

I ran into another building and grabbed everyone inside, as I was heading out, one of the boards landed on me, pining me onto the ground. I let some of the people go, as they were coughing harder and harder. I kept pushing and pushing before I finally got the board off of me. There was no time. I couldn't save anyone else, I needed to get these people out.

I headed toward the field, hoping that everyone got through before that could catch on fire. But when I got there, I saw a group of people were trapped in a ring of fire. Some of the people were starting to catch on fire, I was starting to freak out, what do I do now?! I flitched.. One of those faces looked familiar. Wait- Layla. "No!" I screamed as I raced over to the field. I Ran through the fire not caring about the consequences. I kept running and running. I closed my eyes so I wouldn't get blind from the curses. I opened my arms with someone, the people in them already. Just running through the group of people. I grabbed everyone I could, and ended on the other side of the fire.

I pulled out my dagger and cut down the field, and made a gush of wind making sure there was no way the fire would be any farther than it did. Now that I have these people out, I can try and save those other people in the fire. I don't know if I got Layla, but at this point I didn't care, I needed to save those other people. I sliced the air with a blade, causing some of the fire to go away. I rushed in and grabbed everyone else who was in the fire. I grabbed them and rushed them to the safe place. I took a breather as people were trying to still take in what happened and were screaming from their burns.

"Wait- my mom is still in there!" I heard a familiar voice say, before I could turn to see who, Layla ran into the burning fire.

"No! Layla! Wait!!" I said, rushing right behind her, closing my eyes as I rushed into the fire. I winched as it burned my bones.

It felt like it did last time.. Like I was turning to dust... I tried and tried to find her with my hearing, but I couldn't find her. Soon the pain became too much... I had to leave... I exited the fire, my bones now stained a light grey from the fire. I headed toward the safe place before I looked back at the village, as all the screams turned to fire crackling.

Tears filled my eyes... This was just like last time... Why did she have to die? Why did she have to remind me so much of him.. Why.... Is this what you want Tyche? You want me to suffer? If that is it... then you have succeeded... Just let me die! I thought as I ran into the fire.



???'s P.O.V.

Oh? There seemed to be a kind of hero in this village.. He must be pretty stupid running back into that fire.. Ha! I betcha he doesn't even know the effects of being it in! Well.. Why would I waste a perfectly good opportunity to kill all these survivors.

I turned to a spell page in Bill's book. I mumbled the words and watched as some of them fell to the ground, gasping for air.
I started to laugh again, oh this was just too fun. I think Bill was having fun as well. I turned back to the survivors, and headed towards them, with the torch in my hand. I don't think some of them noticed me because they were too worried for the others that had fallen.

I grabbed some of the tall grass from the field and set it on fire as I threw it in the so called safe place. I did the repetitive thing until they were trapped and starting to burn alive. I laughed at this. Ah.. this was a fun little practice.

Once we get to Lucifer, things will really begin.
