Memorial
The finale of Worst Day will drop tomorrow. This oneshot isn't exactly Izuocha, but if I was to turn it into a complete story it would be so just tell me how this prompt sounds.
The man sat atop the rooftop and watched with a slight smile as the city illuminated the dark skyline. The sight was something to behold and Izuku wanted to take it in, but he had a job to do. The green-haired man reached his right arm out and grabbed a hold of his loaded sandwich and bit into the creation. Midoryia parted his legs as a oily piece of lettuce fell and the vegetable landed between his legs. The man placed his dinner back into its brown wrap and placed a hand on the weapon next to him. The freckled man let out a grunt as he stood up and took three steps back. The short man squinted his eyes as he lined his arm up with the window to the opposing building. Izuku then muttered to himself,"That seems about right." His emerald eyes watched as his breath frosted over from the blistering cold and roaring wind.
Midoryia laid down on his stomach and reached for the rifle next to him. He tucked the black stock into his shoulder and tightened his grip on the deadly weapon. The man leaned his head forward and removed the plastic cap covering the scope with his teeth."There we go." The darkly clothed man then slowly pulled the iron bolt of the rifle back and watched carefully as a round popped out. Izuku reacted quickly and plucked the casing out of the air. You're a slippery one," chuckled Izuku.
The man slid the round back into iron chamber and slid it closed."Simple objective Izuku. One shot one kill- that's it, nothing much..it's what you've been doing for years."
Midoryia took a deep breath and closed his eyes. He opened them moments later and finally leaned into the sight. He peered into the building through the red-tinted scope and studied everything.
Many men wandered around dressed in black tuxes with bow ties fastened a little too tight around their necks. On the servants hands rested silver platters littered with champagne and finger foods. A blond aggressively reached for the alcohol and slurped the refreshment down. The red-eyed man then threw his arm over a red-haired man and began to laugh and shout nonsense. "Looks like he's having a good time," muttered Izuku. Midoryia then continued his scanning of the event. His eyes eventually focused on a green banner and a quick tingle began to emit from the back of his skull, but he quickly moved his rifle and the sensation disappeared along with the banner.
The gunman now was aimed at a frail, yellow haired man with sunken eyes. The man's hands and knees trembled as he moved and Izuku felt pity."Poor guy,I'd be doing you a favor if you were my target."
The moment of truth had finally arrived and a short-haired woman slowly walked up the wooden stair and to the podium. The lady wore a silky white dress and her finger bared a simple, yet elegant wedding ring. The jewel was an unusual emerald, but Izuku didn't think much of it. The woman then put on a shaky smile and allowed a few tears to stream down her rosy-cheeks.
The woman's words were shaky."W-We are gathered here today to celebrate the sacrifice of a great hero." The brunette wiped at her nose."H-He left us three ye-years ago, but to-today should be thrown in celebration of his accomplishment." The chocolate-eyed woman took a deep breath and continued."He accomplished so much from becoming a symbol of peace, to saving lives before he was a hero, he also stole my heart and I can't than the Lord enough for that sweet crime, but most importantly he left Japan with two...st-strong healthy children that will carry his name on with pride- Midoryia."
Izuku had not been able to make out any of the woman's words, but those didn't matter. The messy-haired man stared into the woman's eyes through the scope and slowly applied pressure to the trigger. It was something he had done a thousand times, but as he began to close in on the killing blow a deadly rush of pain invaded his brain. Izuku screamed out in pain and yanked his rifle to the left, and sent a bullet flying through the glass. The bullet landed harmlessly in the floral wallpaper, but that didn't stop the crowd from erupting into a panic.
Izuku wasn't able to witness this as he was rolling around on the rooftop trying to fight of the invasion of foreign images into his brain. The man let out a scream in agony."Dammit, it's happening again !"
