The Emerald Warrior: Origin
In the year 2XXX Earth was visited by an alien colony,' lost in space. The alien colony and Earth began to develop a symbiotic relationship where both could thrive, the colony gave our planet new technology and in turn, Earth gave them a new place to call home and the resources to develop these new technologies.
Izuku Midoriya was in his third year of high school and was currently walking home from school as he thought about how different the world was to the stories he read about of the past. He was walking across a bridge as he mumbled out loud to himself. "Well with advances comes the turbulence," Because despite the progress there were also new obstacles, namely, "The villains."
Izuku was waiting for the light to change at a crosswalk as he continued his conversation with himself. "But just as there's evil there's also a light! The Power Rangers!" They were the ones who always saved the day. Izuku had documented a lot of their exploits in his notebook. It was his dream to one day be a Power Ranger. Except as much as he knew about them he didn't actually know how to become one, he knew about morphers but not how to get one. "Ah, let's face it, I'm too much of a coward. Besides, it's not like there's a school that teaches people how to be heroes, that's just foolish."
He finished his talk to himself as he reached his apartment. There were still a few boxes littered in the living room, signs of only recently settling into the home.
"Mom, I'm home." He headed inside, walking down the hall. He placed his schoolbag on the counter as he passed it. He went to his room and changed out of his school uniform.
"What are you doing?" Finding his mom in her room, organizing the closet.
"Oh, hello Dear, I was just getting rid of some of your father's clutter. I don't want to bring anything unnecessary, into our new home."
"Did you at least ask Dad first?"
"Of course I did, Silly. Do you mind taking that box down to the dumpster, I think I'm just about done. I put everything he doesn't use anymore in there."
"Sure, no problem. I mean it's not like he used them back in our old home." He picked up the cardboard box and made his way back out. He walked down the stairs of his apartment complex, heading to the dumpsters. Inko Midoriya sighed, hearing her son's voice having some frustration in it. She knew he was still adjusting to everything. The new city, the new school, being the new kid.
In a different part of the city, some students were hanging out at the youth center. A blonde wearing a red t-shirt was in the gym area hitting the bench press. A spiky-haired redhead wearing a blue shirt walked up to him, sitting by the empty bench next to him. "Hey, Mirio did you get the notification? There was a powerful reading in town. Uraraka lives in the area so she's checking it out."
Mirio lifted the bar and racked it before sitting up, looking back at him. "Kirishima, do you think, could it be another Power Ranger?" Whispering the last part.
"I don't know but Uraraka will contact us if it's something major."
"Hey, guys check out this new move I learned." A pink alien wearing a yellow shirt called out to them. She was standing on a wrestling mat. She did a corkscrew flip and landed it flawlessly.
"You have no worries, huh Ashido?"
"Nope!"
Izuku had walked around the apartment building, reaching a back alley where the dumpsters were. He almost backtracked seeing one of his classmates also walking to the dumpsters but from the opposite end of the alley. She noticed him and waved. They met up as she threw away a trash bag and he tossed the box away too.
"Hi, you're the new kid in our class. Uh, Deku right? I'm Ochaco Uraraka." She was wearing a pink tank top and she noticed that he was wearing a white T-shirt but on it was the word 'Green.'
"Hehe, no, it's Izuku, Izuku Midoriya. Nice to meet you."
"Likewise. Hey, this might sound weird but-,"
Before she could ask her question they were interrupted by a group of monsters that seemingly came out of nowhere. They had chucked Midoriya into the dumpster and restrained Uraraka. "Nomus!"
They were monsters that were created by villains to hash out their evil deeds. In this case, they were also looking for the power source reading like Uraraka was. They were dragging her away from the alley as they scoured the area. They had dragged her to a park, causing the civilians to flee. Uraraka was able to free an arm and then rammed her elbow into the gut of the nomu restraining her. She was able to break free with a cartwheel kick and started to fight back. Once she was able to get a breather she reached for her communicator and let her team know about the situation.
Izuku was groaning in pain. They weren't gentle when they threw him in. He was rubbing his ribs, looking around. "Wait why can I see if it's closed in here?" As if answering his question, the source of the emerald light radiated more brightly. His green eyes shined with a crackle of lightning once he realized what it was. "A... A morpher!" It was deep in the clutter but he was sure it was it. Although he couldn't tell if it had come out of his dad's box of old things or if it was here all along. Neither option made sense, why would his dad have a morpher and why would his mom want to get rid of something so important or why would anyone for that matter. The morpher's location defied logic.
In that moment, he could feel the morpher calling out to him. He knew once he did this there would be no going back, he would have to face the dangers outside. He would have to confront evil.
And yet, Izuku Midoriya did not hesitate. He reached out for it and announced himself to the world,
"It's morphin' time!"
