𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐓𝐖𝐎 ─ DRAGON RIDES
❝ but it's been 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 ❞
VAENORA AND HELAENA stood in the Dragonpit, with the Dragonkeepers and their dragons infront of them. The two had decided to take a break from their dragon lessons, and instead took to flying them, they had flown them a numerous amount of times, but due to their mothers distain for the 'beasts', as she called them, they were limited to the amount of times they could fly on dragon back.
"Istia remember bona se saddle iksis properly strapped va." (You must remember that the saddle is properly strapped on.) The man said, as some other Dragonkeepers placed the saddles on their dragons.
The man motioned them forward, "Mount zirȳ carefully princesses." (Mount them carefully princesses.)
The two separated, Helaena going to Dreamfyre and Vaenora to Nightfyre. Nightfyre was an emerald beauty, with green scales that reflected like emeralds when put underneath light. And Dreamfyre was a light ocean blue. Both their dragons where alive before they were, born from the same clutch as well, and so both of them were large enough to ride when they were just newborns, they had only gotten to ride them for the first time just now.
The two princesses, climbed aboard their mounts, and settled on their saddles, grabbing hold of two spikes to use as reigns. The dragons moved beneath them as the Dragonkeepers lead them into the open for them to be able to fly.
The Dragonkeepers backed away as the man instructed, "Udrāzma zirȳ naejot sōvegon." (Command them to fly.)
The two leaned forward in their saddles, "Sōvegon." (Fly.) The dragons answered to their riders words, taking off into a run before lifting off into the sky.
Wind flew into their faces, as the dragons flapped their wings and carried the two higher into the sky, the angle causing them to hug themselves onto the back of their dragons, their grips hard on the spikes. Once they were high up, the dragons straightened out, and the girls grew confident enough to sit up and loosen their grips, ever so slightly.
Vaenora grinned and looked over at Helaena, who had a smile of her own as she looked down below to the ground, which looked so small from high up.
Vaenora joined her in her sightseeing, looking down at the city of Kings Landing. "The world looks so small from up here." Vaenora noted, causing Helaena to glance at her with a smile.
"Ilagon." (Down.) The command came softly from her lips, the sound so light that even she could barely hear herself over the wind, but her dragon heard, seeing as Nightfyre began to angle herself down, to descend. At the sight of the dragon flying down, Helaena quickly instructing Dreamfyre to do the same.
Once the two flew down to their decided height, the dragons twisted and turned and caused a display for all those below to witness the graceful and alluring dance between the dragons.
THE TWO GIRLS sat beneath the weirwood tree, collecting bugs that roamed around them. The two didn't look up, even as a branch cracked beneath someones foot.
Queen Alicent Hightower, had a second thought to join her daughters in the Gods wood, overwhelmed by memories from when she were younger, but still, for her daughters she went.
"I saw your dragons." Alicent stated, walking over to stand above the two girls. "They were magnificent." She added, "I'm proud of you." The two faltered in their observation on the bugs that crawled in the palm of their hands.
Alicent squatted down, getting a stronger sent of dragons. It was a familiar sent, that she remembered all too well from her days as the friend of Rhaenyra. She cursed herself as she once more, pushed the memory back deep within her mind, smiling gently at her daughters. "What bugs have you found today, my loves?" Their faces brightened, as they turned to her. She always wondered why the topic had to be around those ugly little creatures that made them speak to her.
Vaenora held a black beetle, and Helaena held a antlion, Alicent slightly shrunk back at the sight of them, but still listened as her girls listed off things they knew about the species. She paused in her questions and Vaenora spoke another one of her riddles, "The great dragon awakes from its sleep, to join the one who mourns and weeps."
Helaena took no notice of her sisters words and continued to tell their mother about the bug. And once she finished, Alicent stood back up. "Come, my loves, you two smell of dragon, and we must prepare for dinner. I have an announcement to make." She slightly faltered before stating her next words, "Rhaenyra and her children will join us."
THE FAMILY DINNER was nothing but silence, except for the sound of cutlery meeting the dishes that held their food, and the whispers that came from Vaenora and Helaena as they dreamily spoke to each other. The two split families had no motive to make conversation with each other, though Vaenora continuously whispered her newest found riddle, to no one but the open air.
Viserys sighed, as he looked on either sides of where his split family sat, before he stood to his feet, gathering their attention.
"Me and Alicent had proposed a betrothal." Viserys stated.
"Yes." Alicent stood up as well, "We have proposed a betrothal between our son Aegon," Alicent looked at the boy, who sat up straighter in his chair, a shocked look on his face. "And our daughter, Helaena."
Aegon gasped, holding a hand to his chest, "I don't want to marry her." Aegon held a tone of disgust to his words, as Alicent looked at him, her eyes squinted sharp.
"This betrothal is final, so its best you stop complaining." Alicent sneered.
Aegon, in fact, did not stop his complaining, instead carried on, muttering about is dissatisfaction with his new found fate. He spared no expense for the girl he spoke of who just sat two seats away from him, with Aemond being a barrier to separate them. Aegon sat there, no longer enjoying his food, instead he began to stab into in to his meat.
Though the sweet Helaena sat silent through it all, ignoring the malicious words that came from Aegon's mouth, no words of her own ever trying to form on her tongue, at the feeling of Vaenoras soft hand held her own, in its tight, comforting grip.
