Chapter 3~Secret Affairs

Alexandria POV~

Its 6:30 and my little brother Nick is getting on my last nerve. He keeps asking me for things like non-stop. Alex get my this , Alex get my that. I have to wait another 3 hours before my mom gets home. She works double shifts because my dad left us when I was 8 and Nick was 4. My mom has to work extra hard to keep up the bills and Nick and I.

Now I bet your thinking. You're sixteen, you can get a job. Well, I've tried, but with a past like mine, no one would want to hire you. With what I've done, nothing good happens really anymore. NIck had finally decided to leave me alone, so I decided to start working on my homework. Midway done, Clarrisa texted me.

Clarrisa~ What happened today with Brad?

Oh crap. Here we go. When she wants to talk about something, she's determined to talk about it. No need to try and change the subject.

Clarrisa~ Hello?! I know you've already looked at the text.

Alexandria~ What do you mean?

Clarrisa~ When you told him off in the car.

Alexandria~ He was being an ass and I wanted him to leave so I did what I did.

Clarrisa never texted me back after I said that. I assume she understands my logic.

Clarrisa POV~

Alexandria~ He was being an ass and I wanted him to leave so I did what I did.

I didn't text her back because I was texting Brad at the same time. I know Alex has a crush on Brad even though she has never told me. But she is easy to read, like a book. And no, I haven't told Brad she likes him, so don't go calling me a bad friend.

Clarrisa~ Meet me at the diner on 5th Avenue.

Brad~ Fine.

I got up and grabbed my keys. When I got to my car, I saw Alexandria walking to my house. Crap! She saw me and waved. I stood there frozen. What am I going to do? I can't let her know I 'm going to meet up with Brad.

"Hey Clar. Where you going?" she asked. Think Clarrisa. "Ummmm... To go see... my dad." I blurted. She looked at me with a confused look on her face. My dad lives all the way in California and I live in North Carolina.

"He's meeting me at the diner." I say hoping she believes me.  "Oh. Can I come? I miss you're dad." she asked. "Sorry. Father daughter time. Maybe next time." I say as I get into my car. I start the car and pull out of my driveway. "I'll text you later." I yell to her.

Finally I tricked Alexandria. Now, time to go talk to Brad.

Alexandria POV~

That was weird. She usually invites me to everything, but I understand though. I walked back home and plopped onto my bed and listened to music. But then I thought, Clarrisa never said anything about her dad coming to visit. She's usually over excited about that.

I thought about it more, but I just brushed it off my mind. I had plenty to worry about. Like if Brad would try to talk to my again or worse if I would fail my math test. Damn math freaks me out man. 

About 15 minutes into me studying, Clarrisa popped back into my head. So I decided to text her. 5 minutes later, no reply. She always texts my back when I start a conversation. So I decided to text her dad. 

Alexandria~ Hey Mr. Rivers. Is Clarrisa still with you?

Mr. Rivers~ Clarrisa isn't with me. I'm still in California. I'll be there next month.

Alexandria~ Oh ok. Bye Mr. Rivers.

Why did Clarrisa lie? Worse, she finally tricked me. I'm untrickable. Is untrickable even a word? Think where did she say she was going? The diner on 5th Avenue. I got into my car and drove over there. I walked in and sat at a booth. "What can I get you sweetie?" the waitress asked. "Just a coffee please." I say.

As she walks away, I see Clarrisa. With a boy, but I can only see the back of his head. I had on a hoodie so I put the hood on and walked to the bathroom which was just behind Clarrisa and the guy. Once I got to the door, I got a good look and the boy.

Brad?!

Why is Clarrisa with Brad? Is it a date? I pulled my hood off and walked to their table. They both looked up at me and stared at me with blank looks on their faces. "WHAT THE HELL CLAR?!?!"
