Taehyung sat outside the hospital, shattered. Jimin who came with him looked at him with tears falling from his eyes well. Taehyung looked so fragile, like he would break if someone touches him. Jimin went near him, wanting to comfort his best friend.

Reaching out for Taehyung, he stopped midway. Retreating his hand, he thought about how heartbroken his friend must be. I mean, he couldn't imagine how it would feel if something happened to Yoongi.

"Tae... It's ok. Jungkook... Jungkook will be fine." Jimin said, his voice cracking. "Hyung... J-Jungkook will wake up, right?" Taehyung asked. "Yeah... He's going to wake up. Nothing will happen to him." Jimin forced smile though the both of them knew this is something no one could be sure of.

"Jungkook has to be alright... He promised to be with me and protect me forever." Taehyung hiccuped, wiping his tears that fell one after another. "Yeah... He's going to be fine." Taehyung said once again, trying to reassure himself this time.

"Kookie will wake up and protect you like he promised, Tae. He will. I know he will." Jimin smiled brokenly. Both of them sat in silence as they waited for the doctor to come out of the Emergency Room.

-Flashback-

Taehyung was just sitting in the library, waiting for Jungkook to pick him up in school. Humming to a soft tune, he flipped through the pages of Percy Jackson, a book series that he absolutely love to read.

He was just to flip another page when his phone rang. Taehyung's eyes widened before he closed his book and placed it neatly back on the bookshelf before bursting through the doors and answering the call.

"Hello?"

"Is this Mr. Kim Taehyung-ssi?"

"Uhm... Yes. Who's this?"

"Do you know Mr. Jeon Jungkook?"

"Yes..? Is something wrong?"

"Mr. Jeon was involved in a serious car accident and is currently undergoing a surgery at the Emergency Room. We'll need you to come by Han Hospital."

"W-what?"

"I'm deeply sorry as this might have been a shocking news to you but we really need to come by."

"I... I'll be there soon."

"Thank you for your cooperation."

Taehyung quickly ended the call and hailed a taxi. "To Han Hospital, please." He said in a shaky voice. The driver nodded and hurried there, sensing Taehyung's voice that it was an emergency. And the destination was hospital too, so he wasted no time on driving there as quick as possible.

Upon reaching the destination, Taehyung gave the driver the money before sprinting into the hospital without taking his change. Rushing to the nearest counter, Taehyung asked if there was anyone named Jeon Jungkook who enrolled here recently.

"Mr. Jeon Jungkook-ssi? He's currently still under going the surgery but I can bring you to the Emergency Waiting Room. This way." The nurse smiled kindly and Taehyung didn't have the heart to reply to her smile.

"Please wait here in the meantime of the surgery." The nurse stated as she took her leave. Taehyung let out a shaky breath as he called the first person that came to mind. "Hello? Jimin hyung? C-can you drop by Han Hospital real quick? J-Jungkook... He..." Taehyung eyes started to gather tears.

"Taehyung? What happened to Jungkook?" Jimin asked worriedly over the other line. "H-he was involved in a serious car accident and he's undergoing surgery right now." Taehyung breathed out while crying.

"Oh my god! I'll be there in a few." Was what Jimin said before he ended the call.

And now the both of them were. Sitting beside each other, panicking. The door from the Emergency Room opened, revealing a doctor that was sweating profusely. Taehyung and Jimin immediately stood up their sits and rushed towards the doctor.

"Doctor, how is he?" Taehyung asked. "He... We tried our best... But his brain organ was slammed hard. He might suffer from memory loss and he will turn blind..." The doctor muttered sadly.

"W-what...?" Was the only thing that left their mouth when they heard the news. "I... Is there anyway for him to see again? Or regain his memory?" Taehyung asked. "Memories can be gained back. His brain organ might have been slammed hard but there was no other damage done. So his memory loss might only be temporary."

"As for regaining his eyes... There really isn't a way except for one... Which I would not recommend you to do." The doctor said. "Which is?" Jimin asked. "Eyes transfer surgery." The doctor said firmly, eyes furrowing.

"As in... Going through a surgery and transferring the eyes?" Taehyung asked. The doctor nodded, "But the surgery has a huge risk. If it goes successfully, you'll still go blind but you'll be alive but you'll go into shock. If it does not go successfully, you might..." He trailed off.

"Might?" Jimin pressed. "You... You might lose your life." The doctor said, voice softer. "That serious?!" Jimin exclaimed, covering his mouth. The doctor nodded sadly, "Unfortunately, yes." Taehyung panicked, "Is there seriously no other way?" He asked.

The doctor shook his head and muttered a 'No.' Taehyung's leg decided to give up right then and he collapsed on the floor. "Taehyung!" Jimin said, squatting to support Taehyung. "N-no... This isn't happening." Taehyung muttered.

"Taehyung..." Jimin said sadly, hugging his best friend. Taehyung burst into tears, "Jungkook can't lose his eyesight... He can't!" Taehyung sobbed. "Taehyung... It's ok..." Jimin tried to comfort him. "No! No, it's not! Jungkook said he wanted to travel the world with me one day and see the beautiful scenario. But now... Now he can't!" Taehyung cried.

"I..." Jimin ran out of words to say as he himself bursts into tears as well. "I'm so sorry." The doctor said. "C-can I go see him?" Taehyung asked, his voice betraying him. The doctor nodded. "We moved him to a room. Follow me."

The two of them followed the doctor down a hallway before the doctor stopped in front of a door. "He's in here." The doctor said and the both of them entered. Jungkook was laying on the bed, with a lot of bandages around him.

"He'll be in coma for a few days since he needs his body to recover, but other than that. He'll be alright." The doctor smiled bitterly. "Alright? How is turning blind alright?!" Taehyung screamed. "Tae, calm down." Jimin hugged Taehyung.

"How am I supposed to calm down?!" Taehyung cried again. "Jungkook wouldn't want to see you in this state, Tae. Be strong, for Kookie's sake. Ok?" Jimin asked. Taehyung just cried as the doctor decided to leave them alone for awhile.

-A Few Days Passed-

Taehyung stayed in hospital that night, taking care of Jungkook. Jimin went back home because he had work tomorrow but he dropped by the next few days occasionally to check on both Taehyung and Jungkook.

Though Taehyung is really depressed with the news, he tried being strong for Jungkook. Sometimes he would break down at the hospital's toilet but quickly wipe away his tears and wash his face before going out again.

Jungkook got better in terms of injuries in those few days of under Taehyung's care which Taehyung was happy for. He would move Jungkook's muscle slightly from time to time just so he wouldnt get a muscle sore when he wakes up because of being unconscious for a few days

Seeing that Jungkook was recovering, Taehyung sat beside Jungkook on a hospital night, looking determined. He pecked Jungkook's lips before exiting the hospital room.

Jungkook's fingers moved.
