As they pulled up the venue Melody got out the car before getting Kingsley out and helping him to the floor. Brielle and Drew followed shortly after and held hands as they all walked towards the grand entrance. Melody held onto Kingsley's hand walking with him.

The location was beautiful!

It was a gorgeous garden with two long tables set up and decorated with fairy lights, flowers and a hum of soft music playing in the background. Groups of people gathered around, all dress smartly and enjoying a glass of champagne.

"Wow, Hazel has really outdone herself here." Drew said sliding his hand around Brielle's waist as they stood at the entrance. Melody smiled and looked down at her son who seemed to be in awe of the decorations.

"Speak of the devil and she arrives!" Melody said as Hazel made her way towards Melody, Brielle and Drew.

"I'm so glad you guys could make it!" She exclaimed pulling each and everyone of them into a hug. Melody returned the hug before pulling away. Hazel leant down and gave Kingsley a big squeeze before looking at everyone. "Everyone is gathering inside for more champagne."

"Well, you don't have to tell me twice." Brielle said before walking with Drew inside. Melody let out a small laugh before looking at Hazel.

"I can't believe you're getting married in 3 weeks." Melody said. Hazel nodded and let out a small breath.

"I know, but I couldn't imagine being with anyone but Roman. He is definitely my soulmate." Hazel replied warning another hug from Melody. The two walked inside with Kingsley running just a few feet ahead.

Melody greeted a few people she knew including her future brother in law, Roman. He seemed a little bit jittery but Melody just put that down to nerves.

"The dinner will start in around 30 minutes, they're just doing some last minute preparations." Roman said before giving a small kiss to Hazel's temple. The two sisters nodded. "Hazel can I just grab you for a moment?"

"Yeah sure, Melody I'll be two minutes."

Roman took Hazel to the side double checking that Melody was out of hearing distance before he spoke.

"We may have a small issue." Roman said. Hazel furrowed her eyebrows looking at her fiancé.

"What's happened?" She asked, concern filling her tone ever so slightly. Roman locked his lips before scratching the back of his head.

"I know I told you he wasn't coming because he had things to do but-"

"Please don't tell me what I think you're about to tell me." Hazel interrupted. Roman smiled awkwardly before nodding.

"Jey's here." Roman stated. Hazel squeezed her eyes shut before shaking her head. "Look, they'll be sat away from each other and-"

"Roman it's not just them." Hazel interrupted once more. "Kingsley.. he's Jey's son." The look on Roman's face looked like he was furious.

"Excuse me?"

"Melody found out she was pregnant the same day that Jey had left, he never gave her an opportunity to tell him. But she always didn't want him to stay with her if he didn't want to, jsut because of Kingsley." Hazel explained. Roman was now visibly more and more uncomfortable.

"So you're telling me that I've met my cousins child before he has? Why didn't you say anything?" Roman yelled in a whisper.

"Because it's not our business to say anything. Melody wanted to keep it a secret! Why do you think she doesn't know your profession or anything like that? I'm trying to protect her." Hazel responded.

"And what about my cousin?" Roman asked sadly. "He's lost 4 years of his child's life because of her selfishness."

"Well maybe if Jey had given her a chance to explain then he wouldn't have. Instead he just up and left." Hazel spat back before walking away from Roman. She had to tell Melody before things got a little out of hand. As she rounded the corner to find her sister, she noticed she was nowhere to be found.

Melody had wandered off to look at the venue and she came across a fountain. She sat on the edge of the fountain and dipped her fingers into the water. She looked off into the distance and saw Kingsley playing with some of the dogs on the grass, that was thankfully dry. She couldn't help but smile at the young boy, but sometimes when she would look at him.. all she'd see was Jey.

She heard a commotion of everyone gathering towards the tables and realised it was time for dinner. She stood up and went to to walk over to Kingsley when a pair of eyes settled on her and caused her heart to almost to stop beating.

It was him. Jey Uso.

Melody watched as Jey ended his conversation with some people before slowly walking over to her, his eyes never leaving hers. The beating of her heart increased at each step he took before he was stood a few feet in front of her.

"Melody Mead." He said. The sound of his voice saying her name nearly made her keel over. The deep gruff in his tone mixed with the look of uncertainty in his eyes was tantalising.

"J-Jey.. what are you doing here?" Melody asked her breath catching in her throat. He looked around before settling his gaze back on to Melody.

"My cousin is getting married so it's only appropriate that I'm here." He replied with a small awkward laugh.

"Roman's your cousin?" Melody asked and Jey nodded. "Hazel's my sister." Jey took a deep breath before pushing his hands into his pockets. Hey was going to say something else before a voice calling out interrupted him.

"Mommy!" Kingsley screamed as he ran over to Melody. Jey's eyes followed Kingsley and you could almost see the cogs turning in his head. "The doggy licked my face!" Melody glanced at Jey before kneeling down to Kingsley and wiping his face lightly with a small laugh.

"That just means he like you baby." Melody said before standing back up and looking at Jey. "Kingsley baby, can you go find auntie Hazel and just stay with her for a moment." Kingsley nodded before running off once again.

"You have a son?" Jey asked, confusion still evident on his face. Melody rubbed her hand on her dress, they had become very clammy. "How old is he?"

"He's 4." Melody replied urgently, she wanted this conversation done with. Jey's brows furrowed even more before realisation settled inside him.

"We broke up 4 and half years ago.." Jey muttered. "You were pregnant-"

"I found out the day you left."

"And you didn't stop me from leaving?" Hey said, his voice raising a slight octave higher.

"Because you obviously didn't want to stay with me and I didn't want me being pregnant force you to stay with me when you weren't happy." Melody spat back in the same tone.

"But this is a child! Does he think I just up and left? Does he think I just abandoned him- hell does he even know I exist?"

"He knows you exist and no I didn't tell him that you abandoned him. I told him you work away from home and that mommy and daddy don't see each other. I told him that you ask about him all the time." Melody responded. She never wanted Kingsley to not know his father but trying to get a four year old to understand was a little more difficult that she had anticipated.

Melody looked around and noticed everyone was sat at the tables and Hazel, Brielle and Roman were all looking at them a little nervously.

"Jey-"

"The dinner is about to start. We should go."
