Rachel was excited for Skylar's first day at Mckinley, but she also knew that her and Skylar had to be careful with meeting each other, otherwise if they got caught Skylar would lose his lacrosse scholarship and Rachel would lose her teaching license. Rachel knew Dalton was one thing but Mckinley was nerve racking for her, but Rachel was more nervous of the girl attention Skylar would get at her old high school. 

Rachel knew that Skylar and the Warblers would all be devastated at losing their beloved school, she knew some of them called Dalton home and a safe haven Skylar especially, she has always wondered why Skylar ended up at Dalton, but she never pried and was waiting for him to tell her in his own time. Rachel took a deep breath as the former Dalton students walked into the choir room with Blaine following behind. Rachel snuck glances at Skylar and the former warblers to make sure they were settling in.

Skylar shifted in his seat uncomfortably as Kitty began to flirt with him especially in front of Rachel because he loved Rachel and only Rachel, but he had to let it happen as he doesn't want Rachel to be in trouble. Skylar noticed Jane roll her eyes and scoff, it was then Skylar turned in his seat and said

"Do you have a problem with us being here Jane?" Jane folded her arms and said

"Yeah its you guys." Skylar shook his head, stood up and said

"Don't sit there and act like you never attended Dalton or even auditioned to be apart of the Warblers, because guess what Haywood you did, do you wanna know the real reason you didn't get past the audition, because of your attitude and because we didn't trust you Jane. Being a warbler means honour, integrity and means to uphold the legacy and traditions whether they are female or male. and you showed none of that. You're a Dalton legacy yourself Haywood and you never did show it because while us guys were talking about you and letting you audition, you came here, how are we supposed to trust you if you turn your back on us." Jane sat silently as she let Skylar's words sink in, and as he sat back down next to Kitty. 

Skylar knew all too well about honour and integrity, Skylar believes that he and his brother Sebastian are doing a better job of honouring their last name better than their own parents, they never want to be like their mum who walked out on them, or their father who left them, the only person to really care and love them besides each other was their  grandmother. Only Spencer and also Thad knew about Skylar and Sebastian's personal life, and Spencer knew what Jane did to the warblers with approaching Rachel for the New Directions while waiting for a result for her to audition over her legacy hurt Skylar a lot, it's why Skylar didn't allow her in the group and only Spencer his co captain knew and understood that. 

Spencer walked out with Skylar after glee had ended and walked to their lockers at their new school, and said

"You doing okay Sky?" Skylar sighed and said

"Yeah. Hearing and seeing that she forgot to audition for us is painful to hear and see it. and she wonders why she didn't get into the group, why we said no." Spencer understood but he also wondered, and said

"Painful because of letting down the group or painful because you saw the warblers as a family and knowing Jane basically turned her back on your family and you don't want to go through the pain of being let down by your family except your brother and your grandmother." Skylar was silent, he closed his eyes and thought of Rachel, he took a deep breath and then said

"The first one obviously Spence." Skylar then turned and softly spoke

"Sorry for snapping at you. Just frustrated. We lost our school and our show choir." Spencer placed his hand on Skylar's shoulder and said

"Relax. Yeah we lost our school, but at least us guys didn't lose each other or our lives Sky that's the main thing, because imagine how your brother and your grandmother would feel and what they would do if they lost you? Plus we are here at a new school getting a second and fresh start, and yeah we lost the warblers, but we are still able to sing and dance and be apart of a show choir it may not be the warblers but New Directions is better than nothing. I know it's most painful for you Sky but at least you're here." Skylar knew Spencer was right, and Spencer continued

"You still have that scholarship for Lacrosse at your dream college, don't let what happened or even your demons determine what you do and don't let them determine your future, even your brother." Skylar then watched Spencer walk away, and knew he shouldn't let it determine him but he couldn't help it as it's a part of him. He was the youngest and Sebastian was gay which their parents didn't exactly like, they were heir to their parents fund, and heir to their grandmother's funds as well. Skylar closed his locker and then walked to class which he shared with Jane and Kitty. He sat in art class with Rachel on his mind and ignoring Jane and Kitty remarks about him. People always labelled him and Sebastian as trust funded kids who get what they want, but it's far from the truth, as far as Skylar and Sebastian are concerned legacy can burn with their family except their nana, their grandad and each other as their nana and their grandad before he passed away were the only ones that love and care about them both. 

As the day ended with him ignoring everyone except Spencer, Skylar drove to see his nana where he was also met with Sebastian and Thad too, and hugged her tight and told her, Sebastian and Thad about what happened at Dalton. Skylar and Sebastian like to see their nana and spend time with her whenever they can. His nana put Skylar and Sebastian in at Dalton because their grandad went there. 

When Skylar arrived at his place after spending time with his nana, Sebastian and Thad. Skylar was greeted with Rachel on his door step. He was happy to see her like always and he also knew that he had to tell Rachel that Sebastian was his older brother. He took her hand and lead her inside where he hugged her tight and whispered

"Can I kiss you?" Rachel stood her toes and kissed him. Skylar kissed her back gently and softly wanting to savour every kiss and every moment with her. Skylar lead her to his sofa and cuddled her tight not wanting to let her to go and to keep his demons at bay.
