SAME DAY,

THE VOLTERRA SQUARE

Lost in a sea of blood-red cloaks, three teenagers made their way towards the tourist entrance of the Volterra castle. It was a rule in the town that the locals were forbidden to enter the Volterra castle. It was unofficial, however, everyone knew not to go near it because of an incident that happened in 1999. It was said that Isabella Martín, the daughter of the town's mayor at the time, and a couple of her school friends went into the castle resulting from a dare one of them suggested. They went in but only one of them came out.

When the mayor was notified of his daughter's disappearance, he organized search parties and called every news station in Volterra to post an amber alert in hopes of someone reporting, but no one ever did. The search lasted for months until peculiar evidence from another case appeared in the research teams' specimen which contained the venom of an unknown entity. Somehow, the search party was lead to the Volterra castle with the leadership of the mayor. Then after five days, the search was abruptly called off and the mayor's daughter was found crouched in the corner of one of the tourist bathrooms, alongside the breathless bodies of her friends.

The effects of the post-traumatic stress broke her mental capacity to function normally, so, reluctantly, the mayor had to admit Isabella into a prestigious mental asylum in the United States of America. To this day, no one knows how the mayor's daughter is doing.

The tourists were bunched into a huddle in front of the entrance as they waited impatiently for the tour guide. Reniece exhaled softly and rolled her eyes in aggravation for two reasons. The first thing was everyone was crowding each other to the point that it almost made Reniece claustrophobic by looking at it. She hates crowds even though she was a social person and loved meeting new people. At the beginning of 2020, Italy's transportation and the government shut down because of a worldwide outbreak called the coronavirus or COVID-19. The illness took thousands of people including some of her neighbors and classmates.

Italy was shut down for months until the government was opened again however, there were laws instilled to prevent more Italians from dying such as social distancing and mandatory vaccinations. There was one downside though not everyone was able to receive the vaccine because it was expensive and most insurances would not cover it. Unlike so many others, Reniece was never in need during that time and that was thanks to an unknown source. When vaccines arrived at the Italian docks, someone from a reputable clinic came to her home and offered her a vaccine.

The second reason was that she watched Javier place another kiss on the brown-haired girl's mouth for the hundredth time that afternoon and wished that they could just get a room already. For the past two hours, Mary and Reniece celebrated by dancing, sampling pastries, and drinking wine. Javier joined them occasionally by taking a small sip of wine from Mary's red solo cup or take a bite out of her Cannolis that had got from a street baker, but besides that, Javier lingered in the background, allowing the two girls to enjoy themselves. They had taken a break earlier from the celebration and sat at one of the seating areas that local restaurants had set up specifically for the Saint Marcus festival, but they did not stay for long, as they wanted to be on time for the tour of the Volterra castle.

Reniece checked the time on her cell phone before putting it back into her pocket. It was about two in the afternoon.

"Hello, pardon me for being late!" Reneice let out a high pitch scream as a bell-like voice sounded from next to her. A beautiful blonde woman turned to her with a perfectly raised eyebrow just as tourists turn to gasp in surprise at the blonde woman's sudden appearance. Reniece just stared at the woman's beauty. The blonde bowed her head politely as she sent Reniece a curt apology. "My apologies. My name is Heidi."

"It's okay," Reniece shook her head and blushed. "Nice to meet you, Heidi. My name is Reniece."

The woman smiles and gently touches Reniece's arm, murmuring something like 'such a pity' as she glances at the cross necklace on her neck. Then she pulls away and turns to the tourist crowd. 'Well, if everyone would follow me." She projected her bell-like voice loud and clear making her way towards the entrance, red bottom heels clicking against the old stone ground. She knocks on the door and a lean brown-haired man opens the door.

The sixteen-year-old girl clears her throat as an uneasy feeling began to manifest in her stomach. Reniece reaches and nervously fiddles with her cross necklace gifted from one of her mothers.

 "Let's start with the tour!"

°°°°°°

Reniece and the American tourist followed the beautiful blonde-haired woman through the halls of the ancient and historical castle. The Americans talked silently amongst themselves as they took pictures and chattered in awe of the castle's interior. The caramel-skinned girl followed behind the group as she ran her fingers softly along the brick walls. She took in the extravagant large moral on the castle's ceiling as it looked to be telling a love story. Reniece glanced on the side of her to see that there was a painting of three beautiful women, then suddenly the girl felt someone next to her.

"Do you like painting?" It was the tour guide, Hiedi.

The girl glances at the woman and nods. "Who are they?"

"They were the former queens, but they were stripped of their titles sometime in the early centuries." The woman explained smoothly as she was unknowingly talking to her future queen. Heidi knew that her Masters had found their mate however, they were unable to take her with them. Heidi was told that the true queen was a descendant of mixed ancestry,  of Caucasian and African blood, but she had no idea what she looked like.

"They are very beautiful." Reniece complimented and the blonde woman hummed. "The former queens are very beautiful but the kings favor their true queen more. They believe that their true queen is a unique beauty. They said she has the face of an angel and her smile outshines the brightest stars."

(A/N: Did you guys catch the change?)

"Do you know what she looks like?" Reniece asks.

"Well, it was rumored that she was of African descendant. However, we have never seen her face. One of the kings back then crafted a sculpture of what he thought the true queen would look like, but it was stolen long ago. I believe it resides in a museum. It was called 'The Black Soulmate.'"

"I am sure she was beautiful." Reniece smiled.

Heidi smiled back at the caramel-skinned adolescent as she thought that her kings would like her personality. However, if Heidi Volturi knew anything about the masters is that they loathed teenagers, especially, teenagers from this generation with their raging hormones, poor hygiene, and lack of athleticism. Back in her masters' time, all the teenagers were in shape, due to the fact that they walked everywhere. The girl in front of her did not seem to have poor hygiene issues, in fact, Reniece's scent was quite lovely. She smelled of Vanilla and cocoa butter with an underlying trace of tea tree oil and other hair products. She had large facial and body features that weren't typically associated with Europeans, however, some features such as her eyes weren't uncommon in Italy.

Heidi's attention was brought away from the girl by the screeching of her cell phone. She glanced at the caller identification before turning to Reniece once again. "I have to take a call. Do you mind if I step away for a minute?"

Reniece looked to the woman before shaking her head, mid-back curly locks move with her motion. "No, I do not mind."

Heidi gave the girl a grateful smile before walking away, blonde hair flowing behind her as she puts her phone to her ear, even though, it wasn't necessary.

"Hello?"

"Heidi, it's Alec, Jane is here with me." A young-sounding voice drafted into the female's ears.

"Alright, well, is everything alright? Why are you calling this phone?" Heidi asked curiously. It was unusual for them to call when instead all they had to do was appear next to her.

"Everything is fine, Heidi. We just wanted to know if they're a girl with you? That appears to be the age Jane and I were when we became vampires. Yes or No?"

"Yes."

"The masters felt the queen's presence through their mate bond and Master Aro ordered us to watch her for today." Heidi subconsciously parts her mouth in surprise as she takes in what the witch twins told her. The woman glances back to the girl who was now sitting on a bench in front of the painting of the three wives, tapping away on her phone.

"Are you telling me the girl that's sitting down a couple of feet behind me is the queen?"

"Yes, she is." Heidi's eyebrows raise in shock. She knew the true queen was young but she did not expect her to be this young. "Take her to the masters' library and do not let her leave until the masters get there."

"Okay," Heidi nods before she remembers something. "She came with friends. A boy and girl."

"We will follow them and make sure they are not harmed," Jane announces for the first during the phone call.

"Goodbye," Heidi said. The call was ended.

°°°°°°

It was an hour later and the caramel girl was walking beside the tour guide with her friends trailing behind somewhere. A few minutes later, they were walking in the castle garden as the tourist excitedly took pictures to post on Instagram. During the whole tour, Heidi did not leave the adolescent's side and she often entertained Reniece by sharing some history about whatever part of the castle they were touring and asking her personal questions. Reniece thought it was a bit weird but she shrugged it off, enjoying the conversation with the woman. She was a people person.

The tour guide and Reniece continued walking the large, maze flower garden until Reniece heard the sound of a high-pitched voice with a country twang,  "Excuse me, young lady?" Reniece glanced at the American woman. Heidi stood behind the girl her strange violet-colored eyes watching the American couple intensely.

"Do you speak English?" The American woman said.

"Yes, I do." Reniece nodded and smiled. During the tour, Heidi and Reniece were speaking Italian.

"Oh! Thank God." The woman sighed in relief. "Finally, someone who doesn't look at me like I'm crazy." The caramel girl raised a perfectly arched eyebrow as the woman walked to her and handed her a camera, "Would you be a dear and take a picture of me and my husband?"

"Of course," Reniece said as she took the camera from the woman stepping back as she waited for the couple to get into their positions by one of the statues.

"Ready?" Reniece asked with her Italian slightly oozed out as she pronounced the word.

 The couple nodded.

"One, two, and three." She counted before the picture captures their moment. Click.

She took them two more pictures for good luck before she smiled and handed the woman back her camera, "It is a beautiful picture. I wish you luck in your journey as a couple." She said.

"Oh! Well, thank you, darlin'." The American woman smiled preppily. She had a drawl that the caramel girl recognized as Southern.

"You are most welcome, ma'am," Reniece said politely.

"Well, ain't you a peach!" The American woman said before giving Reniece a big hug and pulled back. The woman smiled at her. "I detected a European accent from you. Are you from here?" The American questioned politely.

"Yes. I lived in Italy my whole life." She responded. "I was actually born in Rome,"

"Oh! Well, ain't that somethin'. Thank you for the picture though, you hear?" The woman grinned before tapping her husband on the shoulder and giving him the camera before they left to catch up with the rest of the tour group that was on the other side of the huge garden.

Reniece looked back to notice Heidi was still with her and the girl smiled. They began to walk again, this time continuing to walk through the gardens until they turned on a large pathway that plants curved over so it looked like an arch. They were still outside so it was plenty of light, however, not enough to reveal who the tour guide really was. The girl didn't know where she was going and seemed that they lost the group.

"Um, where is the group?" Reniece questioned.

Heidi glanced behind them and let out a hum. "I think we lost them," She said.

Reniece stepped away from the woman and stopped walking before turning around to go the other way. The girl's heart begins to beat roughly in fear and she only took two steps away from Heidi before Reniece was gently grabbed by the hand. "Stop, please. Do not go that way." Heidi pleads.

Reniece yanked her hand away and starts to run towards the tourist exit, even though the group was heading towards another entrance on the other side of the garden that leads back inside the castle.

Heidi sighs softly before flashing in front of Reniece grabbing her hand. "Do not worry. I am not going to keep you long." Suddenly, a feeling of persuasion settles in her mind. "I am not going to harm you. Please, calm down." Reniece subconsciously does what she says and then the girl nods. Heidi smiles and hooks an arm to Reniece's as she leads her back to the door that leads into the kings' personal library, a place where the kings often spend time reading or making conversation with each other. Guilt hit Heidi roughly in her heart as she did not want to use her powers of persuasion on the girl. Heidi did not know how the kings were going to react about using her powers on their mate like a puppet.

Reniece did not know where she was going and she felt like her feet were moving on autopilot. She did not know where the woman was taking her. They continued to walk until the couple stopped in front of her door. Reniece assumed this was another door to the hallways of the castle so, when Heidi opened the door wide motioning for the girl to go in, she stepped inside of the door. When she saw her tour group beginning to walk into another room down the hall, Heidi only tightened her hold on Reniece and walked faster. Reniece did not see her friends in the group anymore so she assumed that they had left early without her to go to the hotel room.

As the last couple of people stepped into the room, Reniece saw pale hands grab the outside of the dark brown door before slamming them shut. Heidi gently gripped the girl's chin and turns her gaze to the front of them. "It is okay. Pay them no attention just listen to my voice. Everything is fine." As Heidi continued to talk, Reniece temporarily loses the sense of her hearing, unaware of the choir of screams and sounds of fists banging against the large wooden doors.

Once they arrived in front of another door, Heidi opened the door and allowed the girl to step in first. Reniece gasped as she took in the view of the library. Her hearing was fully restored during this time. The library was so beautiful. It had a masculine yet feminine decor. On the roof there were illustrations of another love story, similar to the one in the entrance hall, the walls were a creamy white color and a large beautiful chandelier with real crystals decorated the center of the ceiling. There were sculptures of Grecian men with swords and armor shields.

Reniece ran her hands gently along with the large bookcase as her shoes clicked on the polished wooden floor.

"Why don't you relax for a minute?" Reniece gasped as the tour guide, Heidi, suddenly appeared next to her with an apologetic smile upon her face. "My apologies for frightening you, Reniece. I will be back with a snack tray for you." Heidi said and left before the girl could give her a response.

Heidi flashed to the throne room and knocked on the large dark wooden door before she was stepped back. The door was hung opened and she was met with the face of her lover. "Demetri." She smiled and kissed him on the lips before walking inside the throne room

"Heidi." Her lover greeted her back. By this time Heidi was walking towards the three thrones where the kings sat. When Heidi reached the white marble stairs that lead to the thrones, she bowed her head in respect before making a cautious step towards the kings. "Masters." She greeted. The kings sat in their thrones not moving for a moment before Aro stood and made way down the stairs, waiting for her reasoning as to why she is showing up abruptly.

"Heidi, I expected you for feeding."

"My apologies, Master Aro. I was attending to something of great importance to you," Heidi said. The woman's false-colored violet eyes flickered behind Aro towards the other two kings before she finished meekly, "All three of you," She offered her hand and Aro didn't waste a second to wrap his hands around the woman's and greedily drink her thoughts. Her milky red eyes displayed many different emotions as he flickered through Heidi's thoughts: adoration, love, and then finally lust.

Once Aro took his hand away his eyes were pitch black, he blinked as a smile began to grace his plump mouth.

"What is it, brother?"

Aro stepped back and turned to his brothers slowly walking up the marble stairs. "My mate is home." He whispered in shock as he sat on his throne again. "It seems as if our mate she here, in the castle."

Caius frowned in confusion as angry flared inside of him. Caius knows that it seemed like he didn't care, but trust and believe when I say he did. Maybe not in a way that people could not understand but he did yearn for his mate in ways no one with a mate as young as Reniece should go through, and he worried about her safety every day. He clenched his teeth before commanding the guards to leave with the exception of Heidi, Demetri, and Felix.

Marcus sat upon his throne as venom tears gathered his crimson eyes. "Reniece is here?"

"We ordered Jane and Alec to watch her." Caius snapped. "Not you,"

"Yes, master, but she was already with me. She and two of her friends were apart of the tourist group that came in here a few moments ago when Alec called me. The queen is waiting in the personal library if you wish to meet her before I persuade her to forget."

Aro stood from his throne before looking to his brothers who both sent him a single nod. "Lead the way." Heidi bows before leading them to the library not before stopping at the kitchen and picking Reniece's snack board with a glass of orange juice. As they walked the hallways, the three empty hearted kings, wondered about how their little mate matured over the years. Was she beautiful how they imagined her out to be? Was she safe? Did she have a nice home? Family? All of the kings, whether you believed it or not, missed her dearly and often wondered what she was doing at some moments of the day during the years apart. They had made it a habit of coming to her side of the castle whenever they felt the mate bond tense on their dead hearts.

Over the years the kings, especially, Aro, grew bitter and angry because of the fact that they couldn't hold their little mate in their arms. It was so severe to where they have developed intense mood swings to where the personal guards were afraid of saying the wrong thing and pissing the kings off.

As they were walking towards the kings' personal library, the three men inhaled deeply and closed their eyes at the alluring scent of their mate. She smelled of Vanilla. When their eyes opened they were dark crimson.  The kings didn't wait for Heidi before they snatched open the double doors to see a beautiful caramel skinned woman. She was sitting on a chair with a large book in her hand. The kings starred at their beautiful goddess as their eyes locked on the thick black locks that shaped her oval face.

Reniece had a white string connected to her phone that duplicated into two separate strings inside her ears. She seemed too consumed by the music playing through her headphones that she was oblivious to the three men standing a couple of feet in front of her.

She suddenly stood up and leaned against the bookshelf behind her. Caius was the first to notice her body features. She had thick sexy curves and beautiful full lips, the only thing the kings could not see was her eyes as she was apparently engrossed in a book. 'Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children' It said.

As if feeling eyes on her the girl looked up from her book before setting it down on the small coffee table that was positioned in the middle of the vintage-looking furniture and smiled as if she knew them for years, she was still under the effects of Heidi's persuasion. The girl's hazel eyes were intensely on them as she tried to predict rather they were a danger to her. Her full lips had some kind of lubricant on them that made the soft flesh appear cherry red. The kings found themselves wanting to attach their lips to hers.

"Hello, signori." Reniece greeted. ("Hello, sir.") When she greeted the men, the kings allowed a shiver to ripple throughout their bodies sending them a wave of small pleasure from their mate's sweet and seductive voice.

"Ciao, Caro." Aro greeted. ("Hello, dear.")

Reniece scanned the three men slowly as she didn't know what to think about them. She didn't trust men. As she continues assessing each of them, she could not deny that they were some fine ass Caucasian men. Heidi senses the tension and she walks from her position behind the kings towards the girl sitting the snack board and the glass of juice on the coffee table in front of her.

"If you need me I will be outside," Heidi said softly before excusing herself.

"Vedo che ti stai godendo uno dei nostri libri?" (I see you are enjoying one of our books?) The man questioned. When she looked Aro in the eye the bond secured, unknowingly making the ties between them wrap around each other pulling them together. Now, Aro was sure as all hell that this was their mate. When the man questioned her, Reniece then realized that she was in their home reading their books like everything was normal.

Reniece gasped inaudibly as she silently scolded herself. She must have seemed so mannerless, "Oh! Um, mi dispiace, sono sulla tua strada?" (Oh! Um, I'm sorry. Am I in your way?) She asked. Reniece scrambles off of the bookshelf and moves to put the book back into the correct place.

"No! No, non ti dà fastidio." (No! No. You are no bother.) The man rushed. He didn't want his mate to leave them just yet. Reniece nods before looking at a blonde man with a black haired male next to him. The dark-haired man next to the blonde tried to hide his grin as he noticed the girl was staring at him with an intense gaze if he was a human his cheeks would have been redder than a female.

When Reniece set her hazel eye upon the last male, she couldn't help an overpowering feeling wash over her as the blonde male's strange colored eyes stared intensely at her.

"Parli inglese? Preferisco parlare inglese che Italiano." She asked causing the man to nod. (Do you speak English? I prefer to speak English than Italian.)

 "Yes, I do," Aro responded.

Reniece felt uncomfortable, though she could not express it because of Heidi's gift, however, what she did not know was that the kings could hear the heavy frantic beats of her heart, letting them know she was frightened. She was polite but cautious. "Is the book any good?"

"Um, yes. I stopped at the part where Jacob Portman returned to the pub and the people thought he was a German spy. So, yeah. It's pretty good." She smiled as she gushed about her favorite book.

"Do you mind if you read to us? So we can discuss the book afterward."

"Um," Reniece thought about it for a moment about to say no before she felt a shift in her thoughts causing her to nod and open the book to the page she stopped on. "Sure." She said.

The girl thought the men would start to walk towards the chairs in the library but she was shocked to see them sit directly on the floor in front of her like a group of kindergartners at storytime. She frowned her eyebrows in confusion.

'Don't they know there are other chairs in the room?' She thought. The girl shook off the thought and glanced down to the page of words. She started to read, she did not speed up or slow down, she read in perfect harmony.

As the kings listened to the girl's soft-spoken tone, they couldn't help but let their eyes veer off to other lower places. The sixteen-year-old girl was gifted with wide hips and thick thighs, back in the king's time, it was believed that if a woman had wide hips that meant they were excellent for birthing children. It was also a sign that the woman was an amazing lover and that she was able to accommodate any size of a male, which pretty soon the girl would be glad she was gifted that ability. ;)

The kings started to daydream of those same thick ass thighs, imaging their hands grabbing them as they made intense, mind-blowing love. Her long, curly hair spread messily on the sheets of their beds as sweet moans came out of her sinfully sweet full mouth, and them experiencing what it would be like to hear her call out their names as they gladly received the taste of her cum. They couldn't wait to love and spoil her.

A while passed before there was a knock on the door, Heidi let herself in. "It is getting late masters," Heidi whispers in a low tone. "If you want to say anything to her then help yourselves," The men stood from their positions on the floor, and all suddenly appeared in front of the girl making Reniece instinctively step back which only made her hit the bookshelf.

As they surrounded her the girl's heart began to beat faster than before causing the black-haired male, Marcus, to gently grab her hand and place a kiss on it in an attempt to calm her down. It worked for a second, and that second was just enough for them to say what they wanted. Marcus gave her a peck on her nose. Caius gave her a kiss on her neck after she removed her hood from her head.

Aro was last as he gave her a kiss on the forehead before whispered. "It will not be long before you are home, my love." Though Reniece could not hear what he said because of the low tone.

Heidi smiled genuinely as she witnessed her kings in a different light. They were not their rough and cruel selves around the girl. They were...gentle. The kings stepped away as Heidi walked in her and grabbed her face gently, Heidi started. "I want you to forget all of what happened here. All you will remember is that you went to the Saint Marcos festival, you went on a tour, you saw amazing artifacts, and you had fun. You will not remember where you took the tour or who was your tour guide." Heidi stops before she turns to the kings.

"Do you want her to forget you?" The blonde woman asked.

Aro nods his head. "Just for now...until she is under our custody."

Heidi glances at other masters for their permission, she continued her persuasion when two other kings nodded. "You will not remember these men behind me." As she continues to persuade the girl to forget, Reniece locks eyes with the three unfamiliar gentlemen.

In the swift moment, the girl's soul cried out to the kings, which caused the men to momentarily lose their equilibrium, due to the power of the soulmate bond. A bond this powerful was stubborn and if they were not careful the human counterpart could get hurt.

Just for a moment, Aro was tempted to stop Heidi, however, he allowed Heidi to wipeout his mate's memories. Heidi had did something similar to this a few years prior, back when the girl was a young child, only then the child was sleep. "Should you remember these men is only when you live here permanently. Do you understand, Reniece?"

"Yes, I understand," Reniece replied in a monotonous drawl, connecting her striking hazel eyes back to Heidi's crimson ones.

"I want you to close your eyes and count to five. When you open them you will not be here, and you will not remember anything that happened." Reniece nodded obediently and closed her eyes.

"One," Reniece's smooth voice released around the room.

"Two."

"Three." Heidi glanced at her masters before nodding once to the kings, flashing Reniece outside of the castle gates, and to the town square.

"Four."

"Five." Reniece finished, opening her eyes. Her human brain suddenly aware of its surroundings switched on and she immediately tried to piece her memories together only to come up blank.

Reniece glanced over her shoulder to be met with a sudden, harsh breeze. The girl furrowed her eyebrows in confusion when she was met with the brownstone walls of the Volterra castle. She was sure that she felt someone behind her a second ago.

Now, in the middle of the town square, the sudden hazy feeling was experienced was gone. The festival was over, though, people from the planning community were putting the festivities away as the Italian sun began to sink beneath the horizon.

"What the fuck?" Reniece said in confusion.
