Itachi pov:

It was raining heavily. I had sent her to send a scroll to anbu. Lightnings and thunders. I wonder if she'll be alright.

Than a crow landed in my house. It shook to get the wet off its body. Is it her? She let down the scroll in her mouth and poofed.

It turned into a human. It is her. She stood up and than sat down in front of me with legs spread in an M shape 'gomen I'm late.'

Itachi: are you okay?

She just smiled 'daijobu(1) '

(1) : I'm fine.

I opened the scroll to see my mission requested of me.

Kohii: than I'm going back.

I held onto her arm before she could poof back. She looked to me 'itachi?'

Itachi: what's wrong?

Kohii: nothing.

I walked to her back and saw her bleeding and a huge red burnt patch. I knew it. She wouldn't go back like that without disturbing me unless she had something to hide.

She fainted and I caught her in my arms. She must have been struck by lightning on the way here while in crow form.

I summoned huna-baa the crow out to heal her.

Itachi: is she okay?

Huna: I can't do much about the scar. She's running a high fever because of the wound and the rain. Take care of her while I gather some herbs.

Itachi: when can I summon you again?

Huna: by at most tomorrow morning

Itachi: okay.

Huna: and makes sure to clean her. Hygiene is important when ill.

Itachi: but...

Huna: you're a human. You do it better than us crows isn't it?

Just like that she poofed away. Okay... now I got a little trouble. That is to clean her. I could call my mother. But...my father would nag about me not being serious at my job and talk about I shouldn't be dating.

Or... maybe I should call one of colleagues to help. No. That's a bad idea. They will talk about me having girlfriends. I don't want to be a topic of conversation.

I lifted her head up 'kohii. Kohii.'

Kohii: itachi?

Itachi: can you clean yourself.

Kohii: o...okay.

I brought her a basin and a cloth to help herself. While I waited outside the room.

Than she popped her head out of the door 'can't reach...'

itachi:you sure?

Kohii:please.

I got in and she showed me her back. So many scars... I never knew. I guess her petite size and face tricked me. She just didn't look like the kind who would fight a lot.

I examine each scar as I go the wet cloth over. My heart ached... were they always there? Or were they there because I wasn't there to protect her?

She was my only listener who wouldn't leak a thing I say. The only one who never go against or what I thought or did. Even when it seemed what I did was ugly, she just smiled 'kohii snacks.'

I couldn't let her die like that. If she did... I wouldn't have any one to listen to me. Just when I thought my life would become a little lighter.

Itachi: all these scars. I wasn't there?

She kept quiet than she spoke 'not... your fault.'

I took her clothes and helped her wear them back. She cuddled to my body 'cold...comfortable. '

And you...so warm. She felt asleep like that. I lay her nicely onto the floor careful not to wake her up. 'Itachi....' she mumbled.

I laid beside her and she reached out her hand. She randomly grabbed to a part of my shirt and moved in closer to me. I stroked her hair 'you were a coincidence. The best coincidence that could ever happen to me. Gomen. I can never let others know about you. It might bring trouble to your clan.'

It was soon the next morning and huna-baa came to look.

Huna: she's better. No need medicine. Just needs rest.

I heard footsteps and someone was coming through the door. Huna-baa poofed herself dissappear. Oh no. Kohii.

'Itachi.' My mother opened the door.

Itachi: oh mother.

' oh... what a cute pet. Is it hurt?'

I looked to the pillow. She turned back into a crow lying on the pillow.

Itachi: it was. *smiles*

'You're so kind hearted. Come for breakfast. '

Itachi: hai.

My mother left and kohii poofed back.

Kohii: ja... kohii will be going back.

Itachi: um.
