It Was Magic-One Shot-#MidnightSunMovie

The sad part is I know I will never see him again. Yet I still chose to believe that we are meant to be. Maybe he will come back for me. Maybe that short time we spent to together meant just as much to him as it did to me.

One night I walked down to the lake. It was just a short walk, 10 minutes away from my home. I usually would go there to clear my mind, and I would usually be there alone. But that night, a mysterious figure had the same idea.

He sat on a bench directly across from where I was. He looked over my head to the water that rushed underneath the docks, and the fish that jumped out of it every once in a while. I looked up at him, and noticed how focused he was on the water. I found his concentration attractive, as well as the way his eyes moved with the flowing stream.

"I'm Katherine," I blurted out.

His eyes met mine as he replied with a straight face, "Coby."

After the short greeting, Coby moved from his bench to mine.

"Are you from around here?" He asked. I nodded in reply. He added, "Well I'm just here on vacation. Maybe you could show me around?"

I smiled, "I'd love that."

I stood up and held out my hand, Coby gladly took it. And so I led the way, away from the lake, and towards downtown.

On the way there, I asked, "How long are you here until?"

Coby looked up at me, "I have to leave for the airport at midnight." That was an hour away.

I stuttered as I replied, "Well, then I guess we will just have to enjoy this one hour together."

He smiled, "I'd like that." With that, he took his hand and stretched it across my shoulders, holding me close. I smiled, this was going to be a great night.

We were huddled together when we reached our first destination. "Millie's Ice Cream Shop, the best in the business."

Without asking Coby if we wanted any, I ordered us two vanilla cones.

"This is absolutely delicious," he commented. I smiled, and nodded in agreement.

"You have such a pretty smile, Katherine."

I blushed, "You have soulful eyes."

Coby moved closer to me, saying, "You have beautiful hair."

I moved even closer, "You have soft hands."

"You are just absolutely stunning," he said. With that, Coby closed the very small gap between us, sealing our lips together. I kissed him back, including all the passion I had in me. We laced our hands together without breaking the kiss once, moving our bodies closer. It was magic. After minutes that raced by, we broke the smooch when his phone went off.

"I have to go, it's midnight." My smile turned into a frown.

"When will I see you again?"

"I'm not sure," he replied.

"Goodbye Coby."

"Goodbye Katherine, I'll never forget you."
