New Family

Marinette sat in the living room, bored out of her mind. She was nearing the end of her pregnancy, so she was staying home more than usual. She hated it. However, it put her parents at ease, so she went along with it.

Adrien wasn't home. He had just started his classes, and he chose them all in the morning. Her parents were downstairs running the bakery.

It was just her and her baby. A baby that kept climbing up to her ribs.

Marinette groaned, feeling it get harder to breathe.

"Louis," she placed a hand on her belly.

She placed a hand on the armrest of the couch, using it as leverage to stand up. She felt a sharp pain in her lower abdomen. She had been getting false contractions lately, and they kept getting worse every day.

"Ow, ow, ow," she whined. After a few seconds, the pain subsided. Marinette let out a sigh.

She slowly made her way into the kitchen but froze when she felt something run down her legs. She looked down to see a small puddle form next to her leg. Her eyes widened and her heart began to race.

"Maman!" she cried. "Maman!"

She walked as best as she could to the open kitchen door and could hear someone run up the stairs.

"Marinette?" her mom called out, worried.

"Maman! I think my water b-broke."

Sabine rushed in and noticed the small puddle.

"Oh my gosh. Tom! Tom! We need to take Marinette to the hospital!" Sabine yelled down the stairs.

"Maman, I'm scared," Marinette began to cry.

"It's ok, it's ok, honey!" Sabine rushed to Marinette's side. "Focus on your breathing. C'mon, let's go downstairs."

Tom walked in then, rushing towards Marinette.

"I called your bodyguard, he said he's a few minutes away. Here, let me help you," he tried his best to explain calmly. Internally, he was freaking out.

He picked up Marinette before walking down the stairs with Sabine following quickly behind. They closed up shop and ushered Marinette into the car when it arrived.

Her parents sat on either side of her, trying desperately to calm her. Marinette squeezed her dad's hand, crying about how much her contractions hurt. They were getting worse and lasting longer.

Adrien had just gotten out of one of his classes when he got a frantic call from Sabine, informing him that Marinette was going into labor. Adrien nearly dropped his phone. He didn't even bother to call his bodyguard to drive him. He chose to transform and run across rooftops to get there as soon as possible. In a panicked state, he almost walked in as Chat Noir before realizing that it would not be a good idea.

He was so out of focus that he didn't come to until he was already by Marinette's side. She was squeezing his hand really tightly, crying. Marinette was in too much pain to register just about anything. She begged for the epidural and was able to relax for some time.

Sixteen hours later and Louis Agreste was here.

.

Marinette turned around hazily to look at Adrien. He was sitting down next to her, holding their son.

"He has your hair color," Adrien smiled. "I wonder whose eyes he'll have."

Marinette smiled. It took hours of painful pushing, even with the epidural, to birth her son, but she couldn't be happier about his birth.

There was a soft knock on the door, and they both turned to look. A nurse stepped in with Marinette's parents in tow.

"You have some visitors, Ms. Dupain-Cheng," she spoke.

Tom and Sabine stepped in, staring in awe at the baby in Adrien's arm. The nurse stepped out of the way, reminding Marienette of the call button before leaving.

Adrien stood up as Sabine and Tom approached him. They both looked down with teary eyes at the sleeping baby.

"Can you believe it, Tom? We're grandparents now," Sabine smiled, wiping a tear away.

"Can I hold the baby?" Tom asked excitedly.

"Of course," Adrien smiled, handing him Louis. Tom took the baby, cradling him in his arms.

Marinette chucked. It looked comical seeing her dad hold a baby.

Tom wiped a few tears away, "He looks just like you when you were a baby."

"Really?" Marinette asked.

Sabine nodded, "Almost identical."

"I can't believe my baby just had a baby," Tom sniffed.

The sweet moment was interrupted by another knock at the door. The nurse stepped in again.

"Another guest has arrived. They say they are on behalf of Mr. Agreste," the nurse spoke. "I wasn't sure if you wanted me to let them in as they aren't family directly."

Adrien and Marinette turned to look at each other. On behalf of Mr. Agreste?

"You can let them in," Marinette replied. The nurse nodded before coming back a few minutes with Nathalie in tow.

Neither Adrien nor Marinette were expecting this to happen. Adrien did text his dad to notify him of the news, but he didn't expect anyone to show up as he never got a reply.

"Good afternoon, Adrien, Marinette, and Mr. and Mrs. Dupain-Cheng," Nathalie spoke. "I have a message from Mr. Agreste." She placed her tablet in front of her, turning it on to show Gabriel Agreste.

"Hello, Adrien and Ms. Dupain-Cheng. I apologize for not being able to congratulate you two on the birth of Louis in person. I got caught up with work and a couple of meetings. However, as this is my first grandchild, I figured I could at least give a quick congratulations through video as well as send a gift."

At that moment, Nathalie handed a small package to Adrien.

"Please come see me at your convenience after Ms. Dupain-Cheng recovers. I would like to meet the baby and discuss some important matters with the two of you. Congratulations on the birth of your first son."

The video cut off after that.

"Congratulations, Adrien and Marinette," Nathalie smiled before leaving the room.

Adrien and Marinette were surprised, to say the least.

"What's the gift?" Marinette asked.

Adrien opened the packaging, pulling out a small gray blanket with the Agreste logo.

"Aw, it's a cute little blanket. Let me see," Marinette spoke, reaching out her hand.

Adrien handed it over to her. She ran her hand through the fabric, feeling the soft texture. She took a closer look at the logo and saw Louis's name stitched in the bottom corner.

She let out a soft gasp," Aw, it has Louis's name on it!"

"Really?" Adrien asked, walking over to stand next to her. She showed him the part of the blanket where Louis's name was.

"See? That's actually very sweet. It's a personalized blanket," she smiled.

"I would hope he'd get his grandchild something nice!" Sabine spoke. (She wasn't over Gabriel's treatment of the teens and the pregnancy.)

Adrien smiled, "I'm actually surprised father got him something personalized. He was never good at gift-giving."

Marinette turned to look up at him, "Maybe this is a sign he can change for the better."

"Maybe," he repeated, a small smile on his face.

Neither teen was ready to forgive Gabriel yet, but it was a small step in the right direction.

.

Marinette looked around in awe at the fully furnished apartment. She knew Adrien got an apartment for them, but she hadn't seen it yet. It had been a month since she gave birth to Louis, and she felt ready to move into the apartment now. She was nervous about moving out of her parent's, but they encouraged her to go through with it, telling her that she was welcome to visit whenever she liked. The apartment wasn't too far from the bakery either; Adrien knew Marinette didn't want to be far away from her parents, so he opted for somewhere close.

"What do you think?" Adrien asked nervously. He'd gotten the apartment a few months prior with the help of Sabine. He didn't want Marinette to stress over furnishing a new apartment while heavily pregnant or with a newborn, so he decided to get buying some of the larger furniture out of the way. But now he was nervous about her liking it.

"We can change anything you don't like," he continued. "And you can add as much more furniture as you'd like."

Marinette turned to look at him with a smile, "It looks wonderful, Adrien."

Adrien smiled, feeling proud of himself.

"Oh! Let me show you the nursery," he said, motioning for her to follow him.

"Nursery?" she asked, following behind him. In her arms, she cradled a sleeping Louis.

"Yeah, I wanted to have it done before we moved in," he spoke nervously again.

He opened a door to a room, letting her step in first.

Marinette looked around the room, spotting just about everything needed for a baby. There was a crib, a changing table, a couple of baby toys, a couch, and a rocking chair. The room was mostly made up of light green colors.

"Is it supposed to be Chat Noir themed?" she asked.

"Is it too much?" he asked nervously.

She giggled and shook her head, "No, it's cute. Although, it's a bit odd to see everything in pastel colors. Chat Noir is known for dark colors."

"I know, but I wasn't sure if my colors would be appropriate for a nursery room. I know you're used to having Louis sleep in a crib in the same room as us, so I can move it to our bedroom if you want," he spoke. "I got a baby monitor, and our room is the one on the left, but I'm fine with whatever you want."

Marinette walked up to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"You did an amazing job on the apartment, Adrien," she smiled.

"Really?" he asked excitedly.

She nodded, "It's perfect."

Adrien grinned, pulling Marinette into a hug and being mindful to be careful as to not wake up the sleeping baby.

.

"Hand over my baby," Alya said, stretching her arms out to take Louis from Adrien's arm. He handed her the baby, and she gleefully took him.

"Auntie Alya missed you so much," she cooed, rocking the baby in her arms. She had been so busy with her university courses that she hadn't had time to see Louis aside from once a few weeks back.

"Little dude is growing fast! He was so tiny as a newborn," Nino said, sitting down on the couch next to his girlfriend.

Marinette sat on the couch next to them with Adrien standing beside her.

"I know," Marinette pouted. "And he's going to keep growing. I want him to stay small."

Adrien chuckled, "He's only 2 months old. You have plenty of time to cherish him being this little."

"Speaking of two months," Alya spoke, handing the baby over to Nino. "Are you feeling better, Mari?"

"I'm just now starting to feel like myself again," she sighed.

"Are you up for having these back?" Alya asked, holding the earrings out to her.

"My earrings!" Marinette squealed before grabbing them. She took off the earrings she had on and put the miraculous on.

"Marinette!" Tikki appeared in front of her.

"Tikki!"

Tikki flew up to Marinette, hugging her cheek. Marinette felt her eyes water. She'd seen Tikki throughout her entire pregnancy and even after giving birth when Alya came to see Louis, but it just wasn't the same.

"Oh, Tikki, I missed you so much!" she cried.

"I missed you too, Marinette!"

"Why don't you go out for a run?" Alya asked.

"Yeah, dudes. Alya and I can keep an eye on Louis," Nino added.

"What do you think, my lady?" Adrien asked, grinning.

"I-I don't know," she stuttered.

"Just a quick run, we'll come back soon," Adrien said. "Nino and Alya will keep Louis safe."

Marinette thought for a moment. She'd be lying if she said she didn't want to. She did. She missed being a superhero.

"Ok, yeah, let's do it," she smiled.

"Great! Plagg, claws out!"

"Tikki, spots on!"

Ladybug looked down at her spotted hands. She couldn't hold back the tears that fell down her cheeks. She missed the suit. It had been almost a year since she'd last worn it.

"Are you ready, bugaboo?" Chat asked.

"Yeah, I'm ready. Oh, but Alya, if Louis gets hungry there's some formula on the counter. Oh, and if he—"

"Marinette, I got this. Just go!" Alya stood up, pushing the heroes towards the small balcony.

"But—"

"No buts! Go have fun! We'll call if we need anything, ok?"

"They got this, my lady, besides, we won't be gone for long, alright?"

"A-alright," she responded hesitantly. This was the first time she left Louis's side, so she was understandably nervous.

Chat opened the balcony doors, and they stepped out.

"Have fun!" Alya waved as the heroes jumped out and to a nearby rooftop.

Ladybug laughed as she felt the adrenaline rush through her. The couple ran across rooftops, waving at surprised civilians who hadn't been expecting Ladybug to show up.

They both ended up at the top of the Eiffel Tower, Ladybug practically jumping in place due to her excitement.

Chat chuckled, "I take it you missed the action?"

"Oh, you have no idea!" she replied.

He pulled her into a hug, smiling.

"You have no idea how much I missed this too," he spoke.

"It's you and me again, kitty," she giggled.

"It's always been us," he said, resting his forehead against hers. "Now it's you, me, and our son. I love you so much."

"I love you too, Chaton," she replied before pulling him down for a kiss.

THE END

~~~~~~~~~~
Teeny tiny redemption arc for Gabriel, but just tiny cause he's a huge dick in the show.
Now, if you don't mind me, I'm just gonna go cry about the story being over. I can't believe how far this story got. It was originally just a one-shot, and now it's a cute little story that I'm quite proud of. I'm actually sad about the story ending. It's so different from my other stories and I just had so much fun writing it.
Thank you so much to everyone who's read my story. I appreciate every single one of you <3
