Chapter 7

     Jeff's POV:

     I went home.

I  was not convinced one bit.

    I mean it.

Chole hardly looked at me anymore.   She used to way more when we first met.

I felt like she hid something from me. Yet, I was not sure what it could be.

I believed all that talk about her not having feelings for Nathaniel was a cover-up.

I thought I told her that I did not want her to have anything to do with him.

Did she listen?  No, she still found ways to speak to him or to spend time with him when I was busy. It was like I could help it. My job was part of it. Also, I was popular and rich.

I worked as a camp counselor where I met Chole years ago.

I also worked at a nice little shop in town.

The combined payments and bonuses helped a lot.

Why was not I the only one Chole wanted in her life?

I knew it was probably due to my tough nature.

I  also felt that a woman ought to know her place.

It was every day, a guy like me came into her life.

I  had a hard time believing that story about the girl.

What was her name?  Ah, Sarah, that was it.

I  still thought that Chole just denied everything.  I  hated Nathaniel and how close they were.

Sometimes, it seemed like they were closer to each other than she and I were.

I  had to find some way to prove to her that I was meant to be hers, and she was meant to be mine.

   How?

Oh, I know, I will pay her a visit tonight.

  Yes, that is it.

Little did I know what might take place.
