Chapter 54 Epilogue

  Chole's POV:

I have been awake for two weeks now. I am glad I survived the health crisis I went through so I could remain with my husband, and our daughters, Sarah, and Madison. I also discovered that I am an aunt to twins, Daisy and Bob. I sent a few things to Zoe and Luka once I felt better enough to purchase some stuff from Amazon and have them shipped to them.

I FaceTimed with Zoe last night. I could see the gleam in her eyes as she showed me her babies. They are both small but cute.  I  noticed that Daisy has Zoe's eyes and Bob's eyes look more like Luka's.  I can tell Zoe and Luka are proud parents. I smiled.

It might be a while before I can help assist the other heroes fighting against Hawkmoth. I know the original one was defeated a long time ago, but the new one is still causing havoc for the citizens of Paris. It is okay, I found I bonded with Madison better now that I am gradually regaining my strength than I did previously.

I sense that in the future, Madison will emerge as a hero and excel in her career. I am confident she will have a supportive group of friends to assist her.  I can see Sarah has grown taller and is a well-behaved teenager. I dread the day some boy comes up to Nathaniel and me to ask permission to date Sarah, let alone the day it is Madison's turn to date. Well, I suppose that is all still futuristic for now.

Right now, I am sitting on the edge of my bed, reading a book while Madison naps, Sarah works on her homework, and Nathaniel is making something to eat. I forget if it's breakfast or lunch.  I have overslept a few times, so Sarah and Nathaniel have taken turns changing Sarah's diapers and feeding her. Thank goodness for all their help. I can tell whatever the food is smells nice and I can't wait to eat it.

I got a text message from Alya. Hmm, I wonder what she wants to tell me. I read it and my eyes widen in surprise. She and Nino are back at their main residence and their children are away at their grandparent's place. She asks if Nathaniel, and I wish to visit them soon.  She says she expects us to bring Madison along which is fine because she adores babies. She also mentioned that Sarah could stay with my father so she would not have to miss school, unless I rather bring her too, which in that case, she would be happy to have her stay too.

I get up and put on a yellow striped shirt, a pair of jeans, my yellow sweater, some white socks with daisies, and tennis shoes. I tie my hair back with a daisy-shaped hair tie, and then I'm ready to go. I fastened the bee necklace around my neck and checked to see that my miraculous did not fall out of my hair. I put in some bee-shaped earrings to complete my look and headed downstairs. I left the baby monitor on in case, Madison awakens so I can hear her.

I sat at the table and enjoyed some salad, a bowl of soup, and some crackers. For dessert, I ate some of the cheesecake. I could tell Sarah made it since it had some zebra stripes across it.

"This is delicious, thanks dears," I said, to my husband and our older daughter. "You are welcome, bee," Nathaniel said. "You are welcome, Mom," Sarah added.

After the meal, Sarah played checkers with her father, while I changed Madison's diaper. She had woken up from her nap and needed changing. I was feeding Madison when the akuma alerts went off, I smiled as Sarah transformed into Kid Zebra and Nathaniel into King Rooster. As they left, to help protect Paris, I did my part in tending to Madison. I smiled. "Madison, your daddy, and big sister are some of the greatest heroes in history. I am a hero too, but on a break from that sort of thing, because you need me, and I have to take it easy as I am recovering from a heart attack, and a mini-stroke. " I explained to the baby. She cooed as if she understood me. Maybe she does.

Soon the battle was over, and Sarah and Nathaniel came back home. "Da, da," Madison said at the sight of her father. "Yes, Madison, that is your dad," I reassured her. I could tell Madison was frustrated because that is when she dropped her toy and scowled at me. "Let me, take it from here, Mom," Sarah offered. She picked up Madison and scooped up her toy. She sat with her on the sofa, playing gently with her. I was glad to see how good Sarah is with her sister. I took a few photos of them together. Nathaniel took a picture of me as I sat in the chair beside the sofa, then one of Sarah and Madison, and a picture of all four of us.

There was a knock at the door, and I opened it to see Adrien and Marinette standing there. "Adrienette, is great to see you both!  How are the kids?"  I asked. "Hugo is applying to college, Emma is obsessing over a boy, Louis is learning to tie his shoes, and Elizabeth is focused on her studies,"  Adrien answered. "Yes, it is as Adrien says," Marinette agreed.

I noticed that Adrien and Marinette's youngest child, Louis was behind them when they entered the house. It had been a while since I last saw him. "Hey, Louis," I said. "Hey Chol-Chol," Lewis said. I thought it was adorable as he is only two. I saw him point to his shoes which had come untied. I watched him as he tied them. "Look, Chol-Chol, I tied my shoes," He stated. "Good job, Lewis," I said giving him a high-five. He smiled.

He saw Sarah and Madison and climbed onto the sofa. He gently sat beside Sarah and asked, "Read to me, Sarah, Plawse."  The word please is missed spelled on purpose in the previous sentence since that is how I visualize two-year-old Louis saying it. Sarah smiled and read a book aloud for him and Madison.

Adrien hugged me.  Marinette hugged me next. "I am sorry,we did not get to visit sooner," Marinette said.  "Awe, it is fine," I said. "I am glad you forgave me for my sore behavior in high school, and I try to help you out with the hero work soon," I stated. "Don't look so stunned," I said when I saw the shocked look on their faces. "I have known for a while, now because I could recognize Adrien's voice anywhere, and Marinette's signature hairstyle," I explained. "Don't worry, your secret is safe with us," I said.

Adrien and Marinette took a seat on the floor. Nathaniel sat gently on my lap and held onto me. Adrienette took a photo of us, then took one of themselves. I took one of them, and one of Sarah, Madison, and Louis. I wondered, would Louis grow up to be a hero too?

I was grateful to be surrounded by my family and friends.

The end...
