Chapter 52

     Chole's POV:

I was asleep.  In my subconscious, I cried out to Sarah, Nathaniel, Zoe, and Luka.

What happened to me?  The others must help me. I could not be left alone. I was sure I was in danger, but I had no idea why. What was I to do? I  could reach them too well from the dream world.

I  heard someone approach me. I felt a hand reach out and hold my hand. It must be someone good, or so I hoped.  I dared not wish for anything more than to snap out of it. I am a married woman and a mother of two young girls, a recently turned twelve-year-old and a newborn.

I was afraid to leave them. What would become of my family?  I had to stay with them. I must stay with them. I love them too much to give up that easily.

In my dream, I was inside some funny bubble-shaped room. I could sense the presence of my family, but I could speak to them. Why could not I?  I wasn't dead, was I?  Oh, I hoped not.

I tried to grab ahold of Sarah, and Nathaniel, but something pulled me back. What was it? How dare whatever it was keep me from them?  I could hear Madison crying. I tried to go towards the sound, but I felt something hard press against my neck. "No!" I thought you must not keep me from my baby. She needs me.

I attempted to reach for Zoe my sister, Luka my brother-in-law, or Andre Bougerious, my father, but no matter what I felt I was far away.  How could this take place?  It was only a matter of days.

It was not that long ago, that Madison was born. I knew it because I recalled the pregnancy and giving birth. Don't tell me that was a dream too. I had to find out. Somewhere someone must know the truth about what was going on around me.

I  felt light surround me, I did not know what that meant. Someone stepped towards me, and whispered, "It is okay, you will be just fine, we will run some tests, and assure you will be okay Mrs. Kurtzberg."  I heard another voice say, "Stop giving us false hope doctor," I could tell whoever it was sounded angry.  "Mom, is that you? Mom, wake up!  Mom come back to us!  Dad, sister, and I need you,"  The next voice said. I was sure that was Sarah speaking to me.

"Chole, hello, are you in there, Chole?" I could tell Zoe was the one trying to help me next.

"Listen, Chole, I know it was a few days ago, but I am glad we came out here. I was going to let Zoe share our good news with you, but then this happened.  I am so sorry, my sister-in-law, let us know if there is anything we can do to help," Luka said.

"I  tried to stop her, but she insisted on coming here, so naturally I followed her," Dad is that you?

"No, you don't do it that way, you do it this way," I heard someone state. "Chole is only faking, "I heard a voice I dreaded the most.  Tell me, Lila is not here." I thought.

"Get out, you are not welcome here," Nathaniel shouted.

"Yeah, you heard him, out you filthy #$#$%&^*&%! " Zoe added.

"My head hurts, help me," I struggled to say.  "Help me, you have got to help me," I said.

"Agh, do not let them get me. Whatever you do keep the crazies away, " I called out.

I said many other things in my sleep. Not all of them I remember.

I  slapped something and heard it laugh. What in the world was that?

Something landed on my lap, I swatted at it, and I heard someone swat at it, and it grew quiet. Yes, the fly was gone.

I heard a beep noise, followed by a woosh!  What was that?

Whatever it was stopped suddenly, strange, was it still part of my dream or was that real?  How could I discover the truth about such matters?

I felt my legs move. Thank goodness, then my arms. I knew I was not paralyzed so that was good.  But what was wrong, then? Why couldn't I open my eyes, or speak?  What happened?

I  threw off what I assumed was a chain or some rope. Maybe, or it could be a cover that touched me. I was not sure which it was, but I knew one thing. I was determined to get out of here soon.  Whatever here was, I had no idea.

"Let me go!" I shouted. At least, I think that was me, but how can I be sure of anything?  I could not escape. It was crazy. Agh, something wet attacked me. What was it?  Why wouldn't it leave me alone?

I swung my leg. I kicked something and heard a few groans.  Why could not I function properly everywhere else? I was not sure where to find me. Would the others know where to find me should something happen to me?

I smacked something. I heard another groan, then a thud. Well, I hoped I had not harmed someone important to me. What was I?  Why could not I find anyone?
