Sarah's POV:

   I did not want to leave the nice lady who found me.

   I know she is better than most people.

  I rather stay.

    I leave with Nathaniel.

   I am not sure what for.

I see, the boy, Jeff shows up.

I frown.

  From the place where Nathaniel and I watch, I see Jeff hurt her.

    I  gasp as he slaps her.

    I am not too happy about this.

   I try to go, defend her.   

  I feel Nathaniel hold me back.

"Sarah, I do not like it either.  I must find a way to help without his knowledge."

   I  smile when Nathaniel explains he will find a way to help her.

   I already wish Miss Chole was with him instead of that Jeff, fellow.

     I  go to get some new shoes.

   Mr. Nathaniel is nice.

   I mean it.   Why else did he buy me new sandals, tennis shoes, and boots?

   I  think the boots are cool.   I notice they have zebra prints all over them.

  I did not tell him.

  I found this box, shh do not tell anyone.

  I   open it and inside is this cute, zebra-patterned anklet.

I put it on my left ankle.  

 I saw a cute creature come and speak to me.

  The creature is a kwami named Zebee.

 Shh, quiet!  It is a secret.

  I  go to see the mayor since Nathaniel took me in that direction.

I  find out Mayor Andre Bougerious is Chole's father.

  Cool, I thought.
