Chapter 27

  Sarah's POV:

Today, I was glad that Dad came over. I knew Mom was too, by the way, she greeted him at the door.  I saw them kissing when they thought I was not paying attention.

I may have been coloring but I still had eyes.

I knew they loved each other.

I smiled as they sat on the couch together. I laughed when they both reached for the creamer at the same time. It was so cute and romantic.

I  saw Dad, I mean Nathaniel kiss her.

I know Mom liked it because soon she kissed him.

As they kissed, I hoped soon Mom would admit her love for him.

I only wanted two things now in life.

The first to be adopted by Chole so that she could remain my mother and her father could remain my Grandpa. The second was for her to marry Nathaniel because I knew that would make them both happy. Their happiness was important to me. I may be a child, but I did not want Nathaniel to marry someone else.

I wanted him to be my father. I did not care if it was selfish, or not. I did not want him to be the father to anyone else.

I did not interrupt their kiss. I knew it was best to let them be.

I saw my anklet start to glow. Not again, I thought. I  had fought an akuma earlier that morning and was already worn out from the first battle. I hadn't told anyone. It was a secret.

I  sighed. Well, I better get ready.  After all, I can't let Carapace, Queen Bee, and Rooster King do all the work alone. I am a hero, and I need to help.

I  entered the hall closet. It wasn't that cozy but it would have to do for now.

   "Zeebee stripes spread!" I said.

   I transformed as usual.

As Kid Zebra, I tip-toed past the couch and exited the back door. I went to fight the akuma hoping the others would arrive soon.
