Chapter 16

Mayor Bougerious POV:

I wish my daughter would accept his feelings for her. Nathaniel has loved her always. I am sure he can treat her far better than that ex-boyfriend of hers ever could. I know he can.

I know he will always treat her like a queen. I smile.

Yes, I ship Nathaniel with Chole.  I believe they would be best for each other.

I know Nathaniel has been through more than he lets on to her.  She has not told him everything, but he loves her anyway.  Sarah adores Chole and Nathaniel.

I know Sarah is good for Chole and Chole for her. With my and Nathaniel's help, Chole will succeed in adopting Sarah there is no doubt about it.

I know Chole will break Nathaniel's heart before she can heal enough to love him. I feel bad for them both.  Nathaniel lacks the love of a mother and so does Chole.

Sarah lacks the love of anyone since her parents are dead. She ran away from the orphanage.

I looked into it and Nathaniel did too. We both agreed we would keep her away from there.

I know Sarah could use a Grandfather. I intend to be there for her as a Grandpa.

I smile when Nathaniel sends me a text.

The text read, "Mr. Mayor Bougerious, I found a lawyer who knows all about Sarah's case and has agreed to help us."

"I see," I sent a text response back to him.

"The trouble is there is a man who claims to be Sarah Jane's uncle and says he wants to adopt her.  We have a battle for who gets guardianship over Sarah," Nathaniel's text stated.

"I see then tell the lawyer to do his very best," I sent back.

"I will Mr. Bougerious. We must win this."  Nathaniel's text said.

        I smile.

A lawyer, yes!  I decided I would wait to tell Chole the good news until after a settlement is agreed upon for the payment for the lawyer himself. Nathaniel intends to pay him and I will help replace Nathaniel's car since his other one is in bad shape.

I smiled more. Nathaniel's new car should arrive at his place tomorrow. The dealership even offered to haul off the old one free of charge.

Now, I thought, to make sure that daughter of mine does not give up on Sarah. It would break her little heart if she did.
