Mahi's POV

" Hey, Bhai... Mahi, you... here?? "   We heard a voice and turned to see that Ruhan was standing there.

" Hmmm, I have started working in the showroom and the offices as well," I replied with a smile. 

The girl excused herself out of the showroom. Thank God!

Ruhan smiled at me and hugged me. 

" Hey, are you alright?? " He whispered.

" Yes, don't worry. I am fine. Please stay here as long as you can. I don't want to be alone with him." I said and he nodded.
" Don't worry, I can miss my first two classes. So I will stay," he whispered and hugged me once again and I smiled at his sweet gesture. He loved his brother and he was still concerned about me as well.

He told us that Priya aunty sent food for Ron as he came without having breakfast. Ron nodded and wanted him to leave as soon as possible but as I wanted him to stay, Ruhan said that he was free, So he could spare some time for here with me.

I was so happy that I would have someone I could talk to easily.

Though Ron tried to send him away, Ruhan stayed and I knew he did it for me.

" That's great!! It has been so long, let's catch up. "  I said. He smiled and asked me to have breakfast with him and I denied saying I was already full. But he insisted so I said that I would taste the food.

I served some food on one plate and gave it to Ruhan. Ron seemed to waiting that I would do it for him as well. But I would not do that. No special treatment to him

Ruhan asked me to have something but I said that I just wanted to taste the food, and picked a cutlet and ate. It was good and I nodded.

Ruhan asked Ron to have food but he said that he didn't want anything. Though Ruhan insisted, Ron didn't eat anything.

My phone buzzed, and I excused myself to take the call. It was mom, she was calling me as my team was waiting for me. So I excused myself and went to my showroom and briefed them about the things which were already decided. And delegated the duties to them. And went back to their showroom with the team. I showed them everything to make them understand well. And they started their work.

I saw that the food was covered with another plate and none of the brothers were there. I called Ruhan and he came out of Ron's cabin followed by Ron.

He told me to convince Ron to eat but I said that he was old enough to make his decisions.

Ron went to his cabin and I took a deep breath.

" So, why don't you tell me, about your days in the USA? "  Ruhan asked.

" It was good, Leave me, you tell me, do you have anyone special in your life or do you still flirt with friends? "

" I haven't found anyone till now, what about you? Anything exciting?? Any boyfriend? I am sure, boys must have asked you out."  Ruhan asked and I  smiled and said, "  Well, leave all that... It is complicated. " I said.

" So what are you planning to do now?"

"  After completing my MBA, I will join the family business, obviously. "  He said. I asked about my old friends and classmates, and he told me about some of them, we kept talking about our old classmates.

" I don't know where my best friend is these days, she hasn't kept any contact with me, I have been trying to find her out but could not, you have any idea about her? " I asked him and he looked uncomfortable.

" I don't know much about her, but since she hasn't maintained contact with you, why should you bother, forget her and get on with your life."  He said as if he was trying to avoid the topic.

But why?

" How can you say that Ruhan?? She was my best friend, we shared so many things about our lives, I miss her, and now that I am back, I want to meet her. " I asked.

" Mahi, do you trust me?? "  he asked very seriously, all of a sudden.

" Of course!! Why are you asking that?"

" Then trust me you are better off without you. Please don't waste time in finding her, she isn't worth it. "  Ruhan said.

" Why are you saying that, Ruhan?? Did anything happen that I need to know?  What has she done?" I asked.

" Let it be... there is no point in taking out the skeletons,"  he said looking away.

" Ruhan, you are hiding something. Tell me!! "

" I will tell you everything very soon, but all I can say is, it is better that she didn't keep any contact with you. Good riddance,"  he said.

That was weird!!! He knows something related to me. I need to talk to him.

" Ruhan, you got me very intrigued, please tell me everything. If there is something like that, I have a right to know. " I held his hand in mine and pleaded.

He closed his eyes as if he was evaluating if he should tell this or not.

" Give me some time, Mahi. I know you have a right to know, in fact, you need to know it, it might hurt you a bit, but you got to know it. Okay, I know something and I never thought about it in this way, but I should not have kept it to myself. Mahi, all I can say is that she was responsible for your miseries, not who you think it was..." he said.

My friend was responsible for my miseries?? Which miseries??

" What do you mean?? " she asked.

" I will tell you later on, I need to go to college. It's my final year, and I need to be serious, as it is both Ron and Raj Bhai have set such high goals for me but getting such good results. Bye, Mahi, will catch up later. " he went to Ron to say bye and went to his college.

He went away and I tried to engross myself but could not forget what Ruhan said.

My team kept on working and I was there to supervise them, Ron also came out so that he could keep an eye on my team while they were working. Just then Aunty came to the office.

" Ron, have you finished working on your project?? " she asked and Ron said that everything was ready very confidently. Aunty was happy to hear that and praised him.

" Thank you, mom! At least, you believe in my capabilities and sincerity. " He said. I felt that he was somewhat sad.

She asked him if he had his breakfast, but he said, " I didn't feel like eating. "

Aunty scolded him and went to get the food for us, I offered to help but she asked me to sit there.  We both were absolutely quiet then he broke the silence and asked me what I was thinking.

But as usual, we got into arguments. In a few minutes, Aunty came back with food and insisted he eat but he got annoyed and went to his cabin.

Priya Aunty was so shocked and upset. I felt very bad because Ron was not eating because of me, and Aunty was very sad and upset to see her son like that. So I went to call him back, he looked annoyed but when I told him that Aunty was hurt and had tears in her eyes, he came back to see Aunty and sat down in front of her and I served food on a plate for her and gave it to Ron. I knew that Aunty would not eat anything till Ron would have food. So I served for him but just because I cared for Priya Aunty. She asked me to serve food for myself as well and I didn't want to hurt her more so I nodded and we all had lunch.

She asked me what was to be done for the day and I told her everything.

I told them to select the wallpaper and furniture but Ron insisted on going to select the furniture with me.  Mom came there as well and encouraged Ron to go with me and drop me at our home later on. I argued but all of them agreed and I could not argue forever.

Thanks a ton for your wonderful warm wishes. My operation was quite complicated but it was successful because of the very competent doctor and of course the countless wishes by all of you. I am overwhelmed with your love for me.

Though I am on bed rest for  1 and half month. But recovering because of your wishes. It's is just that I am sleeping half of the times. 🙈

But love you so much that you are so concerned about my health and keep saying like my family  that I should rest and recover first, updates can wait. ❤️❤️❤️

You love me so much so I want to come and post as frequently as possible.

The book is going to take an interesting turn very soon. So watch for it.
