Mahi's POV

" Come on, Mahi,  say something!! Please listen to me, we both know that there's something between us. Please don't deny that you had a big crush on me and I have also developed some feelings for you." He said.

"  Look, it doesn't matter, how I recognize it, I just know it was you, that's all,"  I said, getting annoyed.

" By the way thank you. "

" Thankyou?? Why?? That I didn't throw your bouquet and chocolates on your face? "

" No! For giving me immense pleasure. "  He smiled.

" What nonsense! What are you talking about?  " I asked.

" You just called me Ron. "

" No! I didn't. "

" You did! "

" No way! "

" You did, princess, and I heard and loved it just like old times. " He winked. 

" Just shut up and accept that you sent them. "

"  Fine, it was me. But anything related to you, matters to me, tell me how you know my writing like the back of your hand. " He held my shoulders and there was only a space of a few inches between us.

" Leave me!! Yes, I had that stupid crush on you because I was dumb, but you don't need to remind me of my stupidity now and then. I do recognize your writing and knew everything about you as I was crazy about you at that time. But thankfully, I have gained some sanity now. Now leave me or I will slap you. "

" Do it! Slap me as many times as you want but talk to me, tell me what is bothering you. " he asked as if he didn't know.

" You!! You and your presence bother me. Please leave me. " I said.

"  Can we talk about us?  I think there's so much we need to clear up. Please,  Mahi, let's talk about us."  He pleaded.

" There's nothing to talk about, Ranveer. That was a long time ago, things are over years back. Let's focus on the project and being professionals.

"  Mahi, please, don't shut me out. I know, I made mistakes back then, but I've changed. I care about you, and I want to make things right. " He said leaning forward.

"  No! It is easy for you to say it but only I know what I have been through. You can't just waltz back into my life and expect everything to be okay. I have moved on, forget about those silly feelings." 

" They weren't silly, Mahi. I cared about you too, but I went through some tough times, and I didn't handle things well. I'm sorry for hurting you." He said

" Those feelings already made me suffer so much. I was so hurt that I literally wanted to end my life but I didn't, as my family would have died with me. Their love gave me support and strength to get over it." I yelled at him.

" What?? You wanted to end...? What the hell! Why?? I was drunk that night... I know it was wrong, but how could you suffer for years because of that? I think there is a lot of misunderstanding between us. ".

" Drunk?? What are you talking about??  When were you drunk?? Anyway, it doesn't matter now as It's in the past, buried deep under the ground. Let's leave it there."

" No!! We need to talk about it. Please tell me what was so hurtful that you even thought of ... " He was saying but he choked. I saw that he had tears in his eyes.

"  Mahi, please, tell me and give me a chance to prove that I've changed. I've grown up, and I want to be a part of your life again." He said reaching out to hold my hand.

" Never!! I don't want to go through all that again in my life. It's not a joke.  "  I retorted pulling my hand away.

"  I know, and I can't change the past. But I promise you, I won't break your heart again. " he said.

" Don't even think about it. "

" Ok!  I understand. Take your time. But can we at least cut the cake together? It's a symbol of a fresh start.". He said.

" I don't want to start anything with you. " It pushed him but he didn't even move.

" Please the cake is very cute, it will be offended. " He said making the atmosphere light.

Oh, even the cake I baked was cute but you didn't taste or cut it.

" Leave me alone or I will smash it on your face. Then I would not have to see your face. "  I glared at him.

" You can smash it anywhere on me provided you clean me. "  He smiled with mischief

" Forget it. It will not happen in my this lifetime. "  I retorted

" Don't dare me, sweetheart, c'mon you are angry, smash it on me, then  I will show you how I will make you clean me. "  He smiled.

" Shut up! And get lost. " I pushed him and went out of his cabin. He followed me.

Just then I saw Aunty coming towards us. I smiled at her.

" Ron, did you show her around and told her what are we planning? " She asked and he nodded.

" I was asking her to come to my cabin as I ordered a cake for her, to celebrate the new start of her professional life. " Ron said to Aunty. She smiled immediately.

" Wow! Ron, it was a wonderful idea, a very nice gesture. Why didn't I think of it? Let's go and cut the cake to celebrate this milestone, Mahi. " Aunty caught my hand and took me to his cabin.

" Awww... It is so cute. Well done, Ron.  Cut it, Mahi beta. "

" Er... Aunty, I am on a diet, not eating anything sweet. "  I said and he shook his head and closed his eyes.

" When? Why? But you had sweets yesterday, at our place. " Aunty said.

" Er... Umm, I had a lot of sweets yesterday so thought of stop eating for a month or so. "

" Rubbish, you are already so slim and fit as a fiddle. In fact, you should eat more, no need for any dieting, come and cut the cake, I will make you eat it myself. " Aunty said and that idiot smiled.

I cut the cake as I could neither hurt Aunty nor could tell her the reasons for my reluctance.

I cut a piece and offered it to Aunty, she made me eat it too.  Ron also came to me and opened his mouth I was still thinking what to do as I would have to offer it to him as well because Aunty was there, he held my hand with his big one and ate the whole piece of cake and his lips touched the tips on my fingers.

I felt a weird sensation. He shifted a bit while doing so, coming between Aunty and me. His back was facing Aunty and he even licked the cream of my fingers.

My heart skipped a beat or two, and I could not breathe. He smiled and winked at me.

Idiot! Pervert! He did it on purpose.

He cut another piece and offered it to me to take a bite of it. I glared at him but he dared me to deny it silently. I bit just a few crumbs. He smiled and ate that whole piece and smiled at me.

Idiot!!

How can he eat so much??

I was tempted to throw the rest of the cake on his face, I wish Aunty was not here.  But since she was here, I could not do that.

But what if he had made me clean it?? Thank God Aunty was here.

After that, we all went to Auntie's cabin and they told me exactly what they want and the theme they wanted was ethnic as I had expected.

Once things were decided for the showroom, Aunty and Ron told me their preferences for the decor of their cabins. Aunty opted for traditional while Ron wanted a fusion of both.

" Ok, I will design accordingly and will come back with suggestions, you can select whatever you want. " I said.

" Beta, I prefer that you start your work for Raj's room first. " Aunty said.

" Sure, Aunty. I will come to your home with the tentative plans for their room. But I will get the work started here as well. " I said, she nodded with a smile.

I took their leave and went back to our office.
