Ranveer's POV
3 hours back...

I was trying to find my twin, he was hurting since he got to know about the relationship between Manik and Myra. And today, their families were going to throw a surprise engagement party and ceremony for them.

Rajveer was serious about Myra and wanted to get married to her. But now he was upset and vanished from the home so that no one can persuade him to attend that engagement ceremony. He didn't even want to talk about it.

But I was not going to leave that topic so easily. Myra has to face me if not my twin. She can't do this to him. She has to answer me.

I went to the party, everyone was there looking good in ethnic wear. I was surprised to see Roshni and specially Mahi.

I used to think of her as a child but she was getting hotter day by day and at this moment she was looking extremely attractive. She was tall, smart, had a nice toned body, long wavy hair, big and beautiful dark black orbs, and an even complexion.

It would be an understatement if I say that I was shocked as she looked like a live wire and I could not take my eyes off her. I reminded myself that she was Mahi, Manik's sister, and I was not supposed to look at her like that.

But my stubborn mind started arguing that Myra is also Viren's sister but Manik is getting engaged to her. So that doesn't seem to be an impossible thing now.

Shut up!! I said to myself for giving such an argument but I could not get my eyes away from her. After a lot of effort, I shifted my focus to Manik.

I was standing near Manik and realized that he looked upset instead of being happy as he was being engaged to his girlfriend. But he was not at all happy.

But why??

He was looking around as if he was trying to find someone desperately.

But who was he looking for?

Just then he called Mahi and she came running to him.

Damn him!! Why did he have to call her, I had put in so much effort to get my eyes and mind off her and he called her here again.

He asked her to find Roshni.

Roshni?? He was concerned about Roshni?? At this time when he was getting engaged to Myra?

What was going on? He looked very tense and upset and was almost desperate to see Roshni.

Has he mistaken himself for Roshni's dad??

Why?? What was the matter?

Mahi was a bit reluctant to act as Roshni's guardian since her brother was busy, but I was shocked to see that Manik scolded her for that and asked her to enjoy the party, he will go and look for her. 

He scolded her?? Her?

He has always treated her like a princess.

She was shocked as well and apologized to him, looking confused as well, but as she turned to go and find Roshni, her foot tangled in the lehnga and was about to fall when I came in front of her and held her in my arms.

She was shocked and I was surprised at how my heartbeat increased by just taking her in my arms. 

It happened for the third time in my life.

I wanted the time to freeze as I was feeling very good to have her toned yet soft and silky body in my arms. My hand was touching her almost bare back as the blouse of her lehenga had only a few strings at the back. My hands itched to caress her back, but I controlled my urge.

I even complimented her that she was looking very beautiful.

We both were still standing like that. She was not a child anymore, in fact, she was a beautiful girl, I was well aware of it, holding her in my arms.

She was looking absolutely gorgeous and I could see that every man was ogling at her just not approaching her openly as they all were friends or children of her dad's friends

I wanted them to look away from her specially Viren, Shaurya, Sahaj, Mohak, and Vihan.

Just then Mihir came and pulled her out of my arms. I really wanted to punch him for that. But I again controlled myself.  He also asked me why was I holding her for so long. But I was thankful that Myra's dad and mom came to start the ceremony and put an end to a hot argument.

And once the ceremony started and I knew everyone was present there for the ceremony, I went to confront Myra as I knew she would be alone at the moment.

I knocked on the door of her room. Myra opened the door and was shocked to see me. She looked at me as if she was trying to find out if it was Raj or me.

Nevertheless, she asked me to come in. But I didn't want to go in, I just wanted my answers, so I  shook my head as I was very annoyed with her.

" Ranveer?? "  She asked tentatively. I nodded.

" Ranveer, please come in. Someone might come." She said.

I took a deep breath and went in.

" Have a seat. "

" I have not come to have a casual chit-chat. I am here to question your feelings for both Manik and Raj. " I said bitterly but she didn't say anything.

" How can you do that Myra?? You lead on both Raj and Manik. This is not fair to any of them. Why are you so confused, your problem is that all you care about is what you want and let others suffer. If Manik was already your boyfriend, then why did you encourage my brother Raj... and if you are interested in Raj,  why are you getting engaged to Manik?"  I asked.

" I don't know what you are saying, Ron!! " She said.

" Wow!! You don't even know what I am talking about?? Fine!! Have it your way but if your little act hurts my brother, I swear you will regret that you hurt him. I hate to see that you are cheating with Manik too. He is such a nice and honest man, how can you cheat him?? I am upset with him that he didn't tell us about his affair with you or all this would not have happened. Raj also got hurt in the process. Listen, you sort out your feelings and clear everything to all or, I would tell everything to everyone, especially Manik, he should know that you were going on dates with Raj with our families permission. If my brother is not happy, I will not let you be happy as well. " I shouted at her.

" Ron!! "

" You haven't got engaged till now... Just think about who you want and work accordingly. Please don't ruin two lives. Or I swear, I will have to tell everything to everyone. " I said.

She said that how could she accept her feelings for Raj when he has blocked her out of his life. He was not even talking to her. She said she wanted to clear everything up with Raj. But he was not even talking to her. She told me to get Raj there and she would cancel the engagement. But I could not do it as I didn't know where he was. So I came out feeling helpless and a bit frustrated.

I wanted to go back but then I realized that I didn't want to go away, especially when Mahi was looking so hot like that. All the men were ogling her and Roshni. I need to be around her as I didn't want anyone else to go near her.

So I went back to the party and saw that they were surrounded by Mohak, Sahaj, and Vihan.

Shit!!

I looked at Manik and saw that he was as uncomfortable to see them as I was.

Was he worried about Mahi... or Roshni, being surrounded by playboys?

I went to the girls and stretched my hand in front of me but knew that Mahi would not accept my offer, she was about to say no,  so I asked Roshni to avoid the embarrassment. And I wanted to know what was going on between Manik and her. As I turned to see,  Manik even glared at me.

What was his problem??
And if I was not wrong, he was looking at her with... yearning.

Ohhh! My god!

I had started to have an idea of his problem, he looked jealous as hell.

Was he jealous of me?

I was getting a fair idea of it and flirted with Roshni to test my theory and she rolled her eyes and gave a witty answer. We both laughed at that.

Just then I saw Mahi dancing and laughing with Vihan and my lively mood was gone.  I smiled at her but she ignore it and I didn't like it.

The music stopped and I rushed back, saw Sahaj asking Mahi for the next dance but I caught her hand and pulled her away from his reach and went to the dance floor and we swayed to the tunes. She was a good dancer even when she was reluctant to dance. We had a long and serious banter throughout the song. And she pushed me away. And said certain things which were almost true.

Well, almost.

She gave me a reality check and I felt bad but realized that I deserved everything she said.

I would have to prove my worth...
