Chapter 3 - Is That...Me?
I slowly fluttered my eyes open. The crazy man was hovering over me and grinning a goofy grin.
"Your not dead!" He cheered.
I sat up and looked around. I was inside the big blue box by the looks of it.
"Who are you?! You fall out of the sky, have a blue box that's bigger on the inside, and haven't even told me your name yet!" I huffed.
"Oh, right. I'm The Doctor." He said, straining his bowtie.
"What kind of name is that?!" I said, annoyed that he wouldn't tell me his name.
"Oi! It's my name!" He defended.
"Whatever." I said waving it off.
"So! Where do you want to go first? London, Paris, 1963, the list goes on." He said, fiddling with the controls.
"Um...1963? It's 2014..." I trailed off.
"Yeah, and this is a blue box that's bigger on the inside and can travel anywhere in time and space! Where first?" He said excitedly.
"You have to be kidding me! Your lying!" I scoffed.
"No...It's a Space Time Machine! Cross my hearts!" He said.
"YOU SAID YOU WEREN'T AN ALIEN!!!!" I yelled.
"No, I said i was from London."
"And then, you went and flipping KIDNAPPED ME!!!!" I screeched.
He facepalmed. "Y'know, I had another companion like you before..."
"THERE HAVE BEEN MORE PEOPLE YOU'VE KIDNAPPED!?!?!?!"
"No! Abby! Shut up and listen!" He yelled.
I stood quiet. I heard a weird noise that didn't sound very good.
"See! You're making the TARDIS upset with all your huffing about!"
"Hmph!" I scoffed.
"Now tell her sorry." He said, like he was talking to a child.
"You expect me to tell a MACHINE sorry?!" I yelled questioningly.
"Yes!" He yelled back.
Just then, levers and buttons started switching and flashing on their own.
"Oi! Look what you did!" He yelled, running around the console.
"What's happening?!" I yelled, falling back to the floor from the quakes.
"Were going back in time!!!" He yelled.
"IT ACTUALLY DOES THAT!?!?!" I yelled questioningly.
"YES!"
Suddenly it all stopped. Except a weird noise.
"You know, if you didn't leave the brakes on it wouldn't make that noi-" I slapped a hand over my mouth.
"What did you just say?" He asked, running up to me.
"I...I don't know." I said slowly.
"Well...all questions are answered sometime! We'll find out later." He said, clapping once.
He walked over to a monitor.
"Aha! We havnt moved an inch! We went back to 1997! The same place!" He marveled.
I quickly went for the door. I opened them and sure enough, I could just see my house. Well...the tippy top of it at least. There was a hill in the way.
"Um...I don't think fluffy pink pajama pants work in 1997...But it could just be me." I said.
"Oh! Right! TARDIS, please generate her a room with a wardrobe if you may!" He said.
"Why makes you think I'm staying?" I asked.
"Well, because...shut up..." He said, hiding a smile.
The machine let out a huff.
"Look, I'm sorry." I said sincerely.
"How bout it old girl? Will you make her a room?" He asked, patting the console.
There was a funny sound. I can't really describe it. Then there was a ding.
"Done! Up those stairs and keep walking 247th door to your right!" He chirped.
"M'kay!" I said running up the stairs.
I continued walking, but for only about a minute. I turned left and saw a door marked 247.
"You magnificent thing!" I said patting wall.
The door clicked open. I walked in and saw a beautiful shade of purple on the walls. The floor was fluffy white carpet. My bed matched the walls. I had a desk with a laptop, and white wardrobe. A red button up with a Jean jacket and jeans where hanging up on the handle.
"Guess I should wear this...I don't like 1997..." I said, making a face of discuss at the outfit.
I threw it on and walked out of the door. I again only walked for matter of minutes until I got o the big room.
"What do you think?" I asked.
"Looks fine! C'mon! Let's go!" He said, grabbing my wrist and pulling me out of the doors.
We walked up the hill and then I saw...My family. I saw them sitting on the front steps on our house. There was a camera man sitting on the sidewalk, ready to take the picture.
"That was my first picture as a baby." I said in awe.
"Then...where are you?" He asked.
Then I noticed it. Where was I? That exact picture was my first!!! So WHERE AM I!?
"Maybe we should go over and..." The Doctor trailed off.
He saw what I saw. My parents and the camera man all froze. Their expressions...just gone! The just sat there as if...I can't even explain it.
"Doctor...what's going on?" I asked.
"I don't know...." He shuddered. "That's not a good feeling..."
Then what happened next...shocked me the most. Out of no where, a baby just appeared in my mother's arms. Then everyone went back like it was a normal day.
"Doctor...is...is that..." I stuttered.
"I think so..."
"Should we..."
"We should..."
"Right!" We both said in unison.
We both walked back into the TARDIS. The Doctor didn't waste any time. He we at the console pushing buttons and constantly looking at the monitor.
"Doctor, what happened back there?" I asked.
"Oh! Right! Well, by the looks of it, you where never born. Not really. What it did was create General background for you and set you off to a newly married couple!" He said...very very fast.
"Doctor, your not making any sense." I said.
"I'm making perfect sense! Your just not keeping up!" He said.
I sighed.
"Fiiiine! I'll put into your understanding. What happened to you was...You died!" He said smiling.
"I don't think death...MY DEATH! Is a smiling matter!" I yelled.
"Oh but you! Your different! You died...in your PAST life. When you died, you got a whole new family with a whole new background! A new life! Not like regeneration of course. Regeneration is whole different story! You wouldn't happen to have a watch, would you?" He asked.
"A watch? Like...a pocket watch?" I asked.
"Yeah! Like that!" He exclaimed.
"Well, I do have one...but the stupid thing won't open! I've tried everything." I said, slumping down on one of the chairs.
"Right...and how old did you say you where?" He asked.
"17." I replied.
"When's your next birthday?" He asked.
"Two weeks from today...why?" I asked.
"Tell you what, I'll come back on your birthday. But you best find that watch! If you don't, I can't help." He said.
"Yes! Sir!" I said, saluting like a soldier.
I walked out of the doors and a few feet away from the box. It started to disappear. Then I heard that funny noise.
"That's the dematerial-" I slapped a hand across my mouth again.
Why do I keep doing that? Just then, the TARDIS started to come back. The Doctor poked his head out of the door.
"And don't go posting this bit on Twitter!" He said, shutting the door and completely dematerializing.
