Sometime later, everything was settled. The day-off was canceled, filled with vigorous training. The pillars, especially Shinobu, noticed that Tadashi was doing his best to improve himself. He became quite protective over Y/N as if Y/N was his little puppy. Thanks to Y/N's looks and build, people assumed they were around the same age. The month that she stayed away from Haganezuka was torturous but at least she was able to change someone for the better. She'd tell him stories, making him a friendlier person than a month ago. Finally, the last day of the training. All mizunoto lined up, waiting for the pillars' announcements. Uzui, announced,

"In this training, all of you did well. We are all proud of you. On the side note, we have some bad news. We will be kicking a few of you out of the corps."

The happy mood was suddenly turned fearful as the names were one by one called. It was then Tadashi realized that the names that were called were the guys ganging up on Y/N. She smiled, knowing that her opinion went through. Everyone else was dismissed and new friends said goodbye. Tadashi thanked Y/N for being his friends as no one else wanted to be his friend. His cheeks were red and lips trembled.

"I-I... Y/N, I'd like to t-tell you... I really l-like-"

Her body was suddenly hugged by someone bigger. Y/N's face brightened pulling the man in a deep hug. The boy froze, seeing how affectionate his crush was with another guy.

"Oh! Tadashi, meet my husband, Haganezuka!"

Everyone stopped and looked at Y/N. Kanroji giggled, hopping towards her best friend.

"Mhmm~ We forgot to tell everyone just now. Y/N here is my best friend... you'd probably heard of her. Some of you guys call her the pillars' shadow~"

"Huh? Wait, what?"

Y/N scratcher her head and places her hand on Tadashi's shoulder, which Kanroji swore she heard a growl from Haganezuka.

"You see, I'm not a Mizunoto."

"What?"

"My job here was to get rid of bad eggs. I've got to admit. You were initially one of them, to be kicked out of the corps. But! I have faith in you, that you'd become a good demon slayer."

"W-wait, Y/N, how old are you?"

"I think I'm like 10 years older?"

Haganezuka's arms wrapped around her waist, glaring through his mask.

"I know."

"E-erm... I hope we will c-cross paths sooner or later, Y/N."

"Me too. I'll meet you the next time when your rank is higher."

Tadashi bows sheepishly before running out. She tapped the male that hugged her tightly.

"You know, you can take your hands off."

"But I miss you! Being away doing these demon-slaying business makes me worry that you'd come back injured or even dead..."

Before she could reply to her husband, Kanroji interrupted.

"Well, one way is to make her pregnant~"

Y/N squints her eyes at her friend. And if her glares could kill, Kanroji would be dead. The pink-haired lady giggled,

"I mean, it would be nice for you to take a break. Look, your physic isn't as strong as us pillars and a nice break would be good for you, physically and mentally. Plus, I want to see little Y/Ns~ OW!"

Her head was hit by her friend, annoyed that she was talking about getting pregnant when there were a lot of people around. Haganezuka nodded, throwing her over his shoulders.

"Thanks, Kanroji."

"HEY HOTARU! Down!"

As he carried her out, Kanroji giggled and snickered at her friend who was being carried away by her husband. She sighs and looks at Obanai, hoping that one day things will be alright. Upon reaching their home, he gently places her down on their bed.

"I could have walked."

"But my little baby is exhausted from training~"

"What's gotten into you? You want to get laid, right?"

He pulls open her drawers, taking her birth control pills, opening up the window, and throws it out with full force. Y/N's eyes widened, seeing a small glim as the pill container disappeared into the night sky.

Haganezuka smirked, taking her chin with his thumb and index finger.

"I'm just listening to the love pillar's advice~ I'll make you pregnant so we'll have children running around. I'll do that so you'll stop damaging your health and be coated in bandages."

"I-I'm perfectly healthy!"

"Hmm~ Healthy, that's good. A good time to have children, am I right?"
