🤎Prologue🤎
It's impossible to force yourself to love someone. That was a fact that everyone knew. You either loved someone, or you wanted nothing to do with them. For Wilbur he tried to deny these inevitable occurrences, even going as far as to keep try and himself from falling for someone. He was afraid of love, if you can believe that. But much like not being able to force yourself to love someone, you can't force yourself not to love anyone too.
Love is a tricky subject that Wilbur steered away from, something that he never wanted to ponder on- let alone feel. He shouldn't say just love, really it was the romantic type of love. The type of love that you feel so passionately that it can take over your mind like a disease and make you think of nothing but the person you are infatuated with. But he knew he couldn't keep himself from falling for someone, even if he tried to. And much like not being able to stop yourself from loving or not loving someone, you don't get to choose who you love as well. And that was a problem for Wilbur.
He loved Quackity. Quackity with his stupid jokes and beautiful blue eyes that sparkled when he got excited or was happy. Quackity with his stupid contagious smile and goofy personality that Wilbur was somehow attracted to. Quackity with his beautiful voice that can lure anyone in and make you feel safe... Quackity was Wilbur's first and hopefully last crush. He knew it would only stay a crush too, seeing as Quackity would be getting married soon. He was together with two other people that Wilbur frequently saw, Sapnap and Karl.
But even knowing this, it never stopped Wilbur from thinking about what life with Quackity could be, what they could be if he was only given the chance. But much like love, you can't control fate either. Something Wilbur wishes he could. But maybe it's better to settle for what he does get, the silly jokes he gets to partake in, the smiles he gets to see and smile at himself, the glittery blue eyes that would meet his when they talked. Wilbur knows that this is all he will ever get to see of Quackity, and it's hard for him to accept the farther he sinks into the crushing grip of this love he had for the other.
You don't get to choose when, what, how, or who you fall in love with. You don't get to decide the fate you follow. All you can do is take the opportunities set before you and hope for the best. And for Wilbur, that's all he would do, hoping to forget about the back-haired male he had fallen so deeply for.
