Chapter 12

Garroth's P.O.V.

Right as we were about to depart back to Phoenix Drop to check on Emmalyn and (Y/N) a boat rolled up next to us. "Sir Garroth!" The man called out. I turned to him.

"How may I help you?"

"It's Lady (Y/N)!"

"Is something wrong?" I asked, I felt my heart skip a beat.

"She appears to be M.I.A."

"What?"

"Missing In Action, sir."

"Aphmau!" I yelled.

Your P.O.V.

I woke up in a cave, laying on a thin blanket, I forced myself to sit up, and groaned as to my stomach felt like it was being split open.

I looked around the cave, and found something very unusual, books, a fire, a small portion of food. And the strangest thing was probably the clothes. I stood up and looked around. "You're going to research about this fragment." I spun around, saw Zane standing at the entrance of the cave.

I charged at him, but was thrown back by some invisible magyks barrier. "Tsk, tsk, better watch your belly there now, don't want to kill the poor thing."

"Let me out Zane!" I growled, I reached for my sword, but found it missing, along with dagger or anything that could be turned into a weapon.

"Do you know what that is? The thing you just ran into?"

"It's a barrier meant to either keep in or out relic users, semi-normal beings such as yourself can pass through, plus it also shuts down the powers of any relic within a five mile radius. Hence why you can't control me right now," I growled.

"Very well educated, I see."

"Well, that's what you get when your mother's a divine."

"Well, I'll leave you to your research." He turned to walk away.

"Wait! What if I don't!"

"Then I'll turn you into a lethal weapon, and kill your child." I gasped, and backed away from him, quickly, running backward into the wall. "Well, have a nice study session." He waved and left.

Garroth's P.O.V.

As soon as we were in Phoenix Drop I jumped from the boat and ran straight to Emmalyn's place and threw the door open. Emmalyn was pacing back and forth. "Emmalyn."

"Garroth! I'm so sorry!" She sighed. "I don't know what happened."

I felt a small twinge of pain in the side of my head.

Garroth.

"(Y/N)?" I mumbled.

Garroth can you hear me?

"I can hear you!" I yelled. Emmalyn gave me a strange look.

I'm in a cave somewhere, but I can't get out! You'll need Lucinda! There's so sort of barrier. It prevents me from leaving. Please hurry, he's threatened me and the child.

"Emmalyn." I looked at her and she stepped forward. "Can you send a message to Lucinda for me?"

I heard a poof and behind me Lucinda was standing, waving smoke away from her face. "I heard my name."

"Lucinda, can you detect magyks barriers?"

"Yeah, of course I can, I'm a witch." She rolled her eyes.

"Can you go find (Y/N) for me?" I asked desperately.

"...Why? What happened?"

"I'm not sure, but she's gone from what I've been told."

"She's a big girl Garroth, she can take care of herself-"

"She's pregnant, and stuck behind a relic barrier or something, Lucinda just because we have relics doesn't make us any less vulnerable. It just gives us a power. The only power it gives her is to see the future, control elements, heal, and to be manipulated by the enemy."

"Garroth, sweetie, calm down. I'll find her and bring her back. In the mean time you should follow all orders given to you by Lady Aphmau."

"I know where my place is!" I snapped. She rolled her eyes and walked off. "Damn," I mumbled.

Your P.O.V.

I flipped through one of the books lazily, not finding anything for the past hour or so. I heard footsteps, and quickly jumped to my feet as Zane walked into the cave. "Find anything worth my time?" He asked.

"There's nothing in this book!" I yelled throwing it at him. It hit him in the chest and feel to the floor.

"THEN TRY A DIFFERENT ONE!" He snapped.

"This is stupid. Why don't you do this yourself?"

"Because I'm not a former scholar-"

"I was a scholar twenty one years ago!" I yelled angrily.

"Look, in a different book. Now!" He growled throwing the book right back at me. I caught it, and set it down on the table. He turned to leave.

"Oh, Zane!" I smiled and walked over to the bookcase, and grabbed as many books as I could carry and walked over to the fire.

"Don't you dare!" He growled. I let go of all the books, and dropped them in the fire.

"Whoops... is that what you meant by 'don't you dare'?" I asked, kicking them around in the fire a little. He walked over to me, and struck me across the face, but I didn't stagger, I stood my ground.

"You're going to find out what this fragment does-"

"Remind me the threats for what will happen if I don't?"

"I'll kill you, and go get that other scholar, at least she wouldn't be as snappy." I grinned at his remark. "Now look through those remaining books while I go get more."

"Geez, I'm so scared." I rolled my eyes. "It's not like I couldn't fight back."

"I could kill you right now, and you wouldn't heal because you're in here."

"Yeah, I know. I even gave you a lecture about it," I rolled my eyes. "And why do I have to research the fragment, I already know what it is, and does."

"You do!?" He hissed.

"Yeah, but I'm not going to tell you."

"Yes, you are."

"Well, you see, never once did you tell me to tell you what I figured out, only that I had to research."

"Well, you have to tell me now, or I really will kill you!"

"Well, you see I might be thinking of a different fragment though-"

"GRAH!" He screamed and ran out of the cave, pulling out his hair.

I laughed and walked back to my designated sleeping area and laid down. I rubbed my stomach lightly, and closed my eyes.
