18 - I would miss you too much
Han had just fallen asleep when the sunrise had already filled the city with his soft light, which filtered through the rolling shutter. Minho was finally lying down, resting his muscles, but he still didn't sleep a wink. He wanted to be there when Jisung woke up.
The boy was curled up on his side, knees up to his chest, lips parted and his face slightly furrowed.
Minho sighed, rubbing his eyes. They stinged from lack of sleep, but he didn't care. That night had scared him so much that sleep was the least of his worries
Luckily it was Han's day off from work, so the little boy could rest, but Minho had to go to the agency, he couldn't skip afternoon training. And yet he didn't want to lose sight of him, he didn't want to leave him alone at home all those hours.
Minho ran a hand through his hair, staring at the ceiling, searching for a solution. Maybe he could take Jisung with him to the agency... He started thinking about that afternoon's schedule, closing his eyes to make them rest.
Yes, he could probably do it. He would only have training with his close mates and a lesson with the kids, nothing official. He just wondered if Han would have wanted to come with him...
«Min?»
Minho opened his eyes and saw Han watching him with his face still full of sleep; his cheeks were streaked with too many tears, his skin was still red.
«I hoped you were sleeping» the younger sighed, looking down. He knew that Minho had spent another night wide awake because of him. And as much as he tried not to think about it, he couldn't help but wonder when Minho would get tired of him, like everyone else in Jisung's life.
«No, I'm awake.» Minho answered quickly, as if that didn't matter at all. He was just glad to hear Han's low voice again. He missed it too much.
«How are you feeling?» he asked, scanning his face. He was better, right?
«I'm okay» Han murmured, embarrassed. He couldn't help but feel guilty, «I'm really sorry for-»
The older interrupted him by grabbing his hand and bringing it to his lips, leaving a soft kiss on it: «Please, Ji, don't apologize to me.» he whispered looking into those round surprised eyes.
Han held his breath in front of that gaze, struck by that sweet gesture. Minho was showing him an increasingly soft and caring side and, Han couldn't deny it, he loved it. He still loved that someone took care of him, that someone cared about him.
«Are you hungry?» Minho asked changing the subject as he sat up on the bed.
Han nodded rubbing his eyes. He felt so weak, so tired, but he tried not to show it too much. He didn't want to worry Minho any further.
«I have got an idea» the older spoke again, «I'll take you to have a nice breakfast and then, if you want, you can accompany me to the agency»
Han's eyes widened in surprise: «Me? At your agency?» he asked, as if those words couldn't be real. Music had always been his passion after all, he loved many idols, and visiting a real agency was something that not many guys could boast of having done.
Minho nodded not holding back a pleased smile - Jisung seemed to like his idea - but that enthusiasm wavered as Han's face suddenly darkened.
«Min» Jisung called him, getting serious again and frowning, «I'm okay, you don't have to worry and carry me around like a child.» he said, as that face expression came back to his mind. The tired expression that Seojun tried to hide every time Han needed him, every time that Han needed someone. And he was terrified to see that expression on Minho's face too. He was terrified that he was his friend out of pity, out of compassion, and that one day he would have understood that Han was irrecoverable, he would have got tired and would have left.
And Han couldn't take another loss.
«I'm not worried» Minho nodded, trying to be believable. It was obvious that he still was worried.
«I see you're better, it's just that...» he began, scratching his neck. Han looked at him in silence, curious about that unusual attitude, waiting for him to complete his sentence.
The older looked down, blushing slightly, and bit his lower lip, looking for the courage to explain himself.
Han raised an eyebrown, surprised: was Lee Minho embarrassed?
«It's just that?» he urged, unable to hold back his curiosity.
«I would miss you too much» Minho said, looking up and meeting Han's eyes.
And it was true. He had been so worried the night before and being all those hours without his Jisung, who was hidden in some dark corner of his mind fighting his demons, had made him suffer. Minho needed him too.
Han smiled and bit his lower lip. He had never seen Minho so shy and that was really sweet.
«Will I see you dance?» he asked then, getting up from the bed. After all, he couldn't wait to see the agency and with the bonus of seeing Minho in his environment.
The older nodded and met his eyes again, waiting for the final decision.
«Okay, it's settled!» the younger exclaimed, pointing to his closet, «But you have to choose what I should wear. I've never been to an agency!»
Minho nodded with a smile, mesmerized by Jisung's bright face. He was so damn beautiful when he was happy.
The older got up from the bed and scanned Han's closet. The squirrel boy dressed quite extravagantly but, Minho had to admit, everything suited him and he loved that Han didn't care about other people's judgment.
He bent down and grabbed an extra large gray sweatshirt and a pair of jeans, handed them to the younger one.
«Mmh... Okay» Han mumbled, «But I need a shower first.» he chuckled then, sniffing his armpit and making a disgusted face.
«Mh, sexy» Minho teased him, laughing at the gesture.
«Oh, shut up!» Han raised his middle finger and went to the bathroom without turning around, carrying the clothes that Minho had chosen for him.
In the meantime the trainee boy got changed in Han's room. He checked they had time to do everything, including stopping by his house to get some change for that night after the training, and waited for Han sitting in the kitchen, sipping a glass of water and scrolling on Google to choose a nice Café to go together.
«Here I am» Han announced, going down the stairs and reaching the other. He would never have asked, but his eyes spoke clearly: "How do I look?"
Minho smiled at that cute face and scanned his body: «You look great» he said, making Han blush quickly.
«Oh, don't even start!» Han muttered, pretending to be annoyed, and turned his back to Minho to cover his scarlet cheeks.
«I found a Café that makes crazy cheesecakes!» Minho said, with a small mischievous smile.
Han looked at him raising an eyebrow and pouring himself a glass of water: «And?» it was obvious that the older was up to something. He didn't even try to hide it!
«I want to take you there, but... On one condition» Minho said, with a wink.
Han rolled his eyes and set his glass down on the sink. He didn't want to admit it, but after that awful night he was craving a slice of his favorite cake; he hadn't even had dinner. Besides, the idea of having breakfast out with Minho, as a couple, turned him on too much.
«What is that?»
Minho smiled and pointed to the kitchen counter: «Sit in that corner and smile» he explained, pointing his phone's camera at Han.
«No way!» Han snapped, crossing his arms over his chest.
«Jisung-ahhhh!» Minho screamed, stamping his feet on the ground like a child.
Han looked at him wide-eyed. He had never seen that childish side of his older friend.
«Are you okay, hyung?» he asked, laughing.
«Sit theeeere!» Minho repeat, screaming.
Han burst out laughing and sat down on the kitchen, too much amused by that capricious Minho to complain. He smiled cutely, poking his own cheek, and let him take a picture.
«If you send it to anyone» he snapped then, throwing him a threatening look, «I'll kill you.»
Minho smiled, without taking his eyes off his phone, and just shook his head: «This is only mine» he whispered.
Han looked at him for a moment, amazed, while his heart skipped a beat. Minho's eyes were so soft while watching his picture, he seemed to be looking at someone wonderful.
Minho seemed to care so much about him... And, after that night, Han could no longer doubt it. He'd stayed by his side all night, and even though he couldn't communicate with him, Han had felt his reassuring presence the entire time. His warm body hadn't left him even for a second.
And he didn't seem to get tired of him and all his problems yet. Minho was just standing there, smiling at the photo he just took, with those damn stars in his gaze.
Han felt tears welling up in his eyes, tears of gratitude for having found someone like Minho. For having another chance to be loved.
He rubbed his eyes, trying to collect himself and show an usual expression.
«My cheesecake?» he asked then, pouting.
Minho took his eyes off the screen and slipped the phone into his pocket, clapping his hands:
«Let's go!»
. . .
«Come on, open that sweet mouth, baby!»
Minho was making fun of Han, who meanwhile was as red as a the strawberries on his cheesecake.
«Minho!» he scolded him softly, reaching across the table to snatch his fork, but the older was quicker, «Everyone is staring at us!» Han complained.
«So let yourself be fed and don't be naughty» Minho chuckled, bringing him the fork with a piece of cake close to his mouth.
«Oh My God, okay!» he exclaimed impatiently, opening his mouth. Minho smiled victoriously and watched Han's lips close around his fork and his cheeks swell from the big mouthful.
«Cute» he said. Han pretended not to hear him and awkwardly adjusted his beloved hat on his head.
«Now it's my turn!» he snapped, thinking of embarrassing Minho that way. But the older just smiled and handed him the fork without protest: «Feed me, Jagi»
Han's cheeks were burning but he feigned indifference. He didn't want to be the only one fussing over those little things.
He took a piece of cake and brought it to Minho's mouth, lingering a few moments too long on his soft lips. He had already noticed those soft slightly protruding lips other times, he had already thought they were very beautiful, but that morning he looked at them a little too much, thinking about what it would have been like to touch them.
Minho took the cake with a mischievous look, sensing Han's gaze, and licked his lips sensually.
Han blushed suddenly, ashamed of his own thoughts and of being caught staring into his friend's mouth: «You are a moron, Lee Minho!» he snapped, laughing to cover his embarrassment.
He could be ashamed of it, he could deny it to the world, but he knew he thought it. He knew he was attracted to that mouth.
«All right, baby, finish the cake and let's go!» Minho smiled, swallowing the last sips of his coffee.
«Do not call me that» the youngest mumbled with his mouth full again, «it's embarrassing.»
«You see, Ji» Minho rested his arms on the table and lay down on them, making Han's eyes move from the cake to his face, «The problem is: I like when you're embarrassed» the older said, looking into those round soft eyes.
Han started coughing, nearly choking on the cake.
«Romantic» Minho chuckled as soon as Han was breathing normally again.
Han kept his eyes down, embarrassed as ever. He finished his coffee without a word and got up from the table: «We can go» he murmured, walking quickly towards the exit.
Minho left a bill on the table and followed the younger with a smile. He really loved to have that effect on him.
They walked towards Minho's agency and the trainee reached out his hand, trying to intertwine his fingers with Han's, but the younger one panicked and quickly withdrew.
Minho stopped and looked at him with a surprised expression: «You give me your hand every evening...» he said, slipping his into his pocket, slightly offended.
Getting no response from an overly panicked Han, he resumed walking, leaving the other behind.
Han felt guilty. He didn't want to react that way but he felt agitated after all the attentions Minho had given him that morning. He wasn't used to that kind of things anymore.
He hurried to catch up with his hyung, who was walking in silence, and grabbed his jacket sleeve. Minho stopped again and turned his head to look at him.
Han watched him with his wide eyes and puppy dog expression, but he didn't say anything. He just slipped his hand into Minho's pocket, reaching for his fingers and intertwining them with his own.
«Sorry» he mumbled, returning to look at the road, but remaining clinging to the other's arm.
Minho smiled sweetly. He leaned down a little and left a kiss on Han's nose, who blushed again but didn't complain. He fidgeted, but he didn't want Minho to stop with those sweet gestures.
And in silence, they reached the agency together, clinging to each other.
Elle's note:
