The next morning was bright and early in the sunny side of California. That's where you were staying to visit your cousin Benny over the Summer. You were sleeping in on the count it's summer vacation when Benny gently woke you up.

Benny: Shh hey y/n. How's about you and I go play catch today at the sandlot before practice?

You: What do I ever get for being in a family who loves base ball! Of course I do! Can we get something to eat first?

Benny: Sure y/n. Whatever you want! On me!

You: Pancakes please?

Benny and you went out to grab breakfast down at a little near by breakfast diner. After the two of you ate; Benny paid for the food and left to go play catch at the sandlot. While the two of you play, you heard a growling noise coming from old Mr. Myrtle's house. That was no other than the beast! Also known as The great fear!

Benny: Forget it y/n! That's not a safe place to be at!

Y/n: W-what's behind that fence?

Benny: I rather you not talk or see or hear what you just did now. Please? It's for your own protection.

You: Protection? Yeah right!

You dropped your mitt and head over to the dugout. Benny was wondering what the heck is wrong with you so after a few calming down, Benny begin to speak.

Benny: I know it's tough y/n. I mean; people aren't like you.

You: BUT IM NOT LIKE YOU BENNY! Do you know how hard it is to be in my shoes? A LOT!

Benny: What's really wrong y/n?

You started to give in and about to tell him how you feel about Squints but then for a close call you then started talking about how you don't want to be born different.

You: It's just that others at school they treat me different like I'm a nobody.

Benny: They are a bunch of nobody's y/n. But to me your born with a special gift and I want to protect that gift at all cost.

You: You mean you will treat me like the others?

Benny: Yeah but don't be so sure that I'll go easy on you.

You and Benny smiled as the two of you continued playing until the gang got there. A new friend on the field took left center. He was wearing his base ball glove and started beating it with his fist in the glove.

Benny started swinging his bat and hit that ball almost out of the park he then went sliding on to second base as the ball almost made it over the fence. Smalls quickly caught the ball and threw it back to Ham. Ham threw it to Yeah Yeah and Yeah yeah threw it to Kenny. The next turn to hit was smalls turn.

Squints: He can't even hit it out of the park! The kids a square Benny! A square!

Even though you felt bad for Smalls the only one thing you can't keep your guard off was on squints. Benny rolled his eyes.

Benny: Shut up squints! *to smalls.* Okay smalls. Keep your eye on the ball as you hit it!

Smalls was about to hit the ball but the ball kept bouncing off and almost hit y/n.

Squints: HEY WATCH OUT FOR Y/N!

You roll your eyes ignoring the talk about what was being brought up today and as Smalls swings the ball, he hits it over the field! Everyone was shocked at him hitting that ball over!

You: Hey guys! I'll get it!

Squints: NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Y/N! STOOOOOOOOP!
