The next morning a ray of light beamed through your window you were still asleep in your room with a hurt bruised size stomach the boys stared at you as you finally woke up.

Squints: How many fingers am I holding up y/n?

You: it's 4

Squints looked at his fingers awkward and then looked at you like what in the heck are you talking about.

Squints: okay I'm going to get your eyes checked because it's clearly not four.

Squints got out a little flash light examining the concussed pupils.

Squints: okay y/n follow my finger and look right then left.

You followed squints finger  looking right then left.
He then placed his hand on your chest to see if your heart the main important part of your body is still beating.

Benny: Okay Dr. Squints what's going on is my cousin going to be okay or not?

Squints: I say my girl will be fine in a week or two give her time to rest up man.
Benny: Mhmmmmm...
Squints: What.
Benny: What what?
Squints: What's that for?
Benny: because man you like her.
Squints: yeah so what's your point?
Benny: You know the No dating your best friends cousin rule do you?
Squints: But I thought you said I can date her!
Benny: I gave her permission to date you I didn't say you can date her! Just be careful and also protect her when you do. Promise me?
Squints: fine I promise!
Benny: You do?
Squints: I do yes I promise man!
Benny: okay good.

When you starting feeling a bit better Squints kept his best friends promise and nursed you back to perfect health.  He was helping you getting back up on your feet even when you didn't need the extra help.

You: I'm fine Squints!
Squints: Are you sure? You don't look fine to me.
You: I can walk by myself.
Squints helps you to balance yourself back in place.
You: See? I'm fine! *loses balance.*
Squints catches you before you even fell on the floor.
Squints: See? Your still a working progress. And there's still a lot more for me to teach you.
You: You teach me?
Squints: Yeah you have to play for me.
You: Squints you know I can't play I'll get hit in the chest and die.
Squints: No not play actual baseball. You have to play catch with me at every practice for warm ups.
You: ohh alright what do I get if I win?
Squints: perfect health and a kiss on the lips from your boyfriend.
You: *giggles.* Okay.
