Ian's POV

You'd better listen to me. I covered my ears. Never. Kill. Bloodshed. Listen to their screams. No. No! I couldn't block out the voice in my head. I uncovered my ears but he was still talking. Depicting scenes of decapitation and murder, all backed up by wild screaming laughter. Do as I say. Now. Shut up! I stood up, staring at the foreign horizon. I had no idea of the area my friends had moved to while I was...gone. Kill. Kill... I grit my teeth. I won't do what you tell me. I won't! A bolt of pain hit between my eyes, sending me back to the ground, crying out in pain. My eyes snapped open. "Ian! Ian are you ok?!" Firespark gasped, kneeling down in front of me, holding my face in her hands. Silence. I sighed, blinking slowly, gazing up at her. I saw my crooked eyes reflected in her amber ones. The evening sunlight shining behind her rusty blonde hair. "Ian?..." I drop my head down onto my chest, exhaling hard through my nose. "I would be blatantly lying if I said I was. I can't remember the last time I was 'ok'." Her hand caressed my cheek gently; a soft kiss on the top of my head. I felt the thick knot of scar tissue across my chest twinge with pain. I didn't deserve this love. I felt like my body was falling apart, layers of tissue being stripped away every day, revealing the blood red muscles beneath, the splintering, bleeding bone, until I was seen as the true killer I was. I close my eyes, the darkness in my head terrifying as I think of what lies beyond it. "Ian..." "Firespark." She lifted my chin up with her hand as I part my eyelids, our gazes meeting. Hers were sad and grey though. "Where did it all go wrong? I barely recognise you anymore..." I sighed. "I know. I'm no longer the man you loved." A single tear tracked down her cheek. "N-no, y-you are. I kn-know he's still in there...somewhere-" "I'm a murderer Firespark. You can't change that. You never will. I've tried, but it's always ends with more pain than it's worth." She furrowed her eyebrows in concern. "Don't say that." I hardened my gaze. "But it's true."

"If it's possible, I swear you've got even crazier." A demented laugh. "Oh it's possible alright Ian." Two hands slammed down on the wall either side of my head. "The longer I spend in your mind the less sanity I have. Hee hee." I frowned. "M-my head makes you insane? But I'm the saner one out of the two of us." His hand pressed hard to my throat. "You so sure about that these days, hmm?~" I gulped. "I-I- yes. Yes I am." Suddenly he withdrew, leaving me alone against the wall. "Do you like games Ian? Do you wanna play one with me?" I rubbed my throat. "Is this question rhetorical?" I saw two, crooked red eyes appear in the distance. "I'll take that as a yes..." Derp suddenly appeared beside me, grabbing hold of my wrists and pulling me sharply towards him, I stagger and hit the ground. I felt a cold blade on the back of my neck. "My move Ian. What's yours?" So this is the game... I don't move. I sense his eyes narrow. "Fine." He switched hands and grabbed the back of my jacket, dragging me back onto my feet and shoving me away, advancing with sword then back in dominant hand. I backed away, then control my panicking mind, dragging it into the shape of a sword. I felt the leather grip in my hand and leapt forward, my blade crashing against Derp's. He staggered back a bit, then twisted his sword away and slammed his shoulder against my chest.

I used his shifted balance to my advantage and pulled him towards me, getting him in a headlock. Then his sword sank into my side. My knees buckled and I screamed in silent pain, hitting the ground hard. He yanked it out of me and I cringed. "Seems like I won the game? Hmm?" "You wish." I tackled his legs and brought him crashing down too, climbing onto him and wrestling the sword off him. I looked around for mine and lunged for it. Standing up I wielded two swords. Derp got up on one knee, baring his teeth at me. "Very clever." I narrowed my eyes at him. "What's the deal Derp SSundee? What have you ever gained from tormenting me?" He stood up. I suddenly realised how much taller and stronger he was than me if I were to lose the swords. "Everything. I gain, everything. I swapped our roles. I take everything from you and you watch the life that you never got to lead fall away from your grasp." I blinked. "I never took anything from you. I never even knew you existed." Suddenly he was right in front of me, grabbed my throat and pulled the swords away from me. All I could see were his wild bloodshot eyes. Like the eyes of a cornered beast as it sees the gun barrel pointed towards it, safety catch off.

"Oh, but you knew something didn't you Ian? You knew something was giving you nightmares. Twisting your, thoughts." I wriggled, trying to dislodge his grasp on me. He grinned widely. "Someday my motives will become clear to you. But as of right now-" He slammed my back up against the wall hard, knocking the breath from me. I gripped his hand, gasping for it. He let go and I leaned over, panting. He picked up the swords I dropped and pointed them at me. "If I'm not mistaken, you seem to enjoy being in your head more than you do being in the real world." I lifted my head, meeting his intense gaze. "Where did you come from?! Tell me!" Derp narrowed his eyes and snarled, deep within his throat. "I'll kill you." I stared at him, face awash and body trembling in terror.

He didn't answer my question, though.
Perhaps, he didn't know the answer, anymore than I did.

Sky's POV

I lay curled up on the sofa, watching the TV, letting my eyes glaze over. The images blurred, becoming moving colours of static and sound. "Hey." I looked up, seeing Ty standing in the living room doorway. "Oh hey." He sat down beside me, sighing in exhaustion. "Ian's asleep." "Oh." Silence. A gunshot from the movie that's playing rang out and I changed the channel. "Y'know all the courts are crying out for justice against Derp." I nodded. "And that if we hide Ian any longer he'll kill us." I nodded again. "Sky am I even getting through to you?" I clenched my fists. "I. Warned. You. I knew this would happen! But you two wouldn't listen." "I thought we could help Ian! He needed us!" I stood up. "He needed us like he needed a hole in the head Ty. And at this rate that's exactly what Minecraftia will give him. Punishment for mass murder by death." Ty frowned. "Not if we tell them he's already dead." He looked up at me. "We'll tell them we killed him. A mercy killing. They never need know the truth..."

I stared back at him. "Alright."

I left the room.
