Capture

(A/N: I know I'm a major douche for not updating this in so goddamn long. I just didn't feel motivated to write it. But I got Derp's sword held to my throat today and decided it would be a good idea to update... I like to breathe after all...*psychotic laugh in background*)

5 years post SSundee's 'death' - PRESENT DAY

Ian's POV
My eyes snapped open as my dream faded, well, more of a nightmare. Not as much of one as what my life has become though. I sat up and saw people running past my window. I blinked sleepily. "What the-?" Go see what's happening Ian. I narrowed my eyes, reaching for my shades and shoving them on. "I don't take orders from you." Nevertheless, I got up and pulled my jacket and shirt on, doing them up as I watched children happily skip past, some hand in hand with their parents, happy and carefree. I realised a tear was making its way down my grimy cheek. I wiped it away roughly with the heel of my palm before sheathing Derp's sword and opening the door, stepping hesitantly into the street. Get a grip, Ian. I followed them in the shadows, prowling stealthily, staying hidden from their unsuspecting eyes. I could hear voices issuing from the main square in the village. Hushed whispers and smatters of laughter. I pressed my back up against the closest house, straining my ears to make out their mumbled dialogue. Then, a loud voice spoke clearly above the crowd. A voice that rattled my brain and brought my past rushing back to me in an agonisingly painful blur. Seto's voice.

"Can I have quiet please?! Thank you... Now, as you all know, Minecraftia's killer, or killers, are still alive. We don't know where they are, which is worrying. Even though, Commander Deadlox and the Main Police Division of Minecraftia have been, and are still, working tirelessly by the day to bring them to justice. What we're saying though, is that this person, or group is a fugitive. Any sign of their crimes/murders or the individuals themselves, are to be reported straight to us and Commander Deadlox, in the city of Glassgate." I frowned. Glassgate...they've moved homes. I guess it has been over 5 years after all. It was my 29th birthday about a week ago. I stopped celebrating it a while back, hating the day I was born, the day I was placed in the world, trapped in my mind with a demented consciousness, who was determined to tear it apart. I pursed my lips before jumping up, grabbing the edge of a villager's house with my hands and pulling myself up, feet scrabbling for purchase on the splintered oak. Finally, I heaved myself up onto the roof, my eyes widening when I realised someone was standing right in front of me. Seto was still talking in the distance, but it was white static in my ears. All I could see were the back of a pair of red boots, leading up to grey leather jeans, grimy blue armoured knee caps, and a dark blue cape...with a gold ingot embroidered in the dyed and finely weaved, cave spider silk.

I froze, mouth dropping wide open as I realised, that Skydoesminecraft was standing right in front of me, completely oblivious to the fact that I was hanging off the roof directly behind him. He coughed, turning his head to the right. I saw Mitch standing on the roof that he looked towards, and ducked down. Seemed like they were on guard...looking for someone. My stomach twisted. They were looking for Derp...or, well, the 'killer'/'killers'.

Seto seemed to be drawing to a close with his speech. I started backing down, eager to escape the crowds before anyone saw me. I'd taken a huge enough risk as it was. My foot slipped suddenly and I slid backwards, yelping in panic as I clawed at the wood for purchase, my nails scraping on splinters. Sky started and whipped round, freezing instantly. His jaw dropped. Then, acting on instinct it seemed, he darted down, seizing my arm as I slipped off the roof. It twisted in the socket and I yelled in pain. Sky gasped. "What, no-?! SS-SSundee?!" My shades slid off and I saw his face slacken in terror. He dropped me instantly and I hit the dusty ground hard, exhaling hard from the impact. He dropped down beside me. Seto was wrapping up his speech. Eager whispers were spreading throughout the crowd as people speculated on who the killer was. I heard a child crying. Sky knelt down beside me; my chin was lifted up on the cold edge of a blade.

"I can't believe it's you..."

I heard the crowd's mumbling grow louder, but then I heard Ty's voice as he took over, taking and answering any questions that the crowd may have for him. Faintly, I heard Seto's voice muttering apologies as he pushed through them, his voice growing closer by the second. My heart pounded in panic.

No no no NO! I CAN'T LET THIS HAPPEN!

I shot up from the dirt, sprinting away. Sky was soon after me. I ran faster, vision blurring, head aching as Derp tried to take over. I pushed him back, running into a tree. I yelped as my nose throbbed, tears of desperation running down from my crooked eyes, as I found myself being backed into a corner.

Mitch swore bitterly, closing in beside Sky. "I can't believe this! God, I hope he's just some sick, twisted impersonator of Derp."

I sobbed, terrified of hurting my friends again after all these years.

Sky frowned, raising an eyebrow. "He must be. I know it's been years since we've seen Derp...but, he wouldn't yield this easily..."

Mitch drew his bow and arrow, notching it at me. "No, he wouldn't. Get him. The court will need him incapacitated." "Mitch-"

An arrow thudded into my arm, making me yell in pain. I hit the ground on one knee, gritting my teeth as I tried to drag it out.

Sky shoved Mitch away; Mitch glared back at him. "You idiot, you messed up my shot!"

My vision started going red. Oh no. Please god no.

"We should wait for Ty!"
"I know what I'm doing-!"

I forced myself to speak. "R-RUN."

They stared at me. "Wh-what?"
Mitch snorted. "You can't be serious-"

I screamed in pain as my an explosion of heat and anger tore through the inside of my head. "RUN!" Mitch gasped. "Wait no, Ian-?!" My vision blurred and reddened. I felt my mouth stretch back in a demented grin. "Long time, no see Mitch." Sky screamed and pulled his friend sharply back by his hood, as Derp lunged forward, crazed with laughter. They both cried out and clung to each other, as he crashed into them. Suddenly, I heard a bang, and a blur of purple sped past me, exploding onto the ground. Purple flames roared up on the ground, the heat blasting back into my face. Derp yelled in agony as red hot ashes rose up and caught the breeze, blowing into his eyes. My vision blurred, as his tears soothed the burns. He whipped around as a robed figure splayed his palm in front of his face, more flames exploding out. Seto. The last thing I remember was my throat going dry as I screamed at them to stop, fresh tears of raw misery spilling from my eyes.

All they did was make it worse...

Derp's POV
I blocked the flames with my raised arms, cackling maniacally at the sorcerer's feeble attempts to injure me. "I've got so much stronger since the last time we met, Seto!" I grabbed my sword, tightening my grip round the cold handle. "You know, I wondered if we'd ever meet in battle again!" Sky and Mitch stumble for cover out of the corner of my eye. "You may have grown stronger as you say, Derp, but you're still an insensitive bastard. YOU SHOULD BE DEAD!" I snarled. "You'll soon be dead!" I lunged through the flames, ignoring the burns; they'd soon heal. I had no time for them, right now.

Seto swiftly forged a sword of purple flames and swung it around in a counterstrike. I sidestepped, twisting it off my my hilt and kicking at him, forcing him back. "Your fighting skills are still pathetic!" My eyes briefly widened, as an arrow thudded into the back of my head. I growled, yanking it out brutally and turning round, backing up. I had a crooked eye on both Seto, and Mitch, the one who had just attacked me. "You wanna try that again Mitchy?!" Mitch'a face was deathly white, his eyes hazy, as he tried not to cry. Sky hefted his golden sword up, staring at me through the flames, terror ignited in his eyes, far brighter than any embers in the fire.

I was in a ring of fire with a sorcerer on hand. Speaking of which...

I leapt at him without warning, stabbing my sword forwards under his guard. I grinned as it hit flesh, sinking deep into Seto's side. I saw him pale, blood pumping out of the wound.

Then, something ice cold and soulless slid into me, through my body. I felt my weight resting on it. It was a peculiar feeling, like how a fish would feel on a hook. Weightless.
I looked down to see the blood streaked tip of a golden blade.

I didn't have time to curse before it was wrenched back out of me.
I howled in pain as the numbness was replaced by a searing agony barely worse than what I had experienced during Ian's 'death'.
Blood gushed out of me, as I slumped to the ground.
Seto bared his teeth, trembling in fear, his magic drawing my sword out of him and healing his side, glowing purple tendrils wrapping round his sides like bandages. I felt a foot rest on my back and yelped in pain as my diamond blade clattered to the floor beside me. The world spun, my skin turning whiter by the moment. Shit. I couldn't die obviously, but I knew I was getting closer to the brink. I shut my eyes, too weak to keep them open. At least with the sword out of me, I could heal.

When I next open my eyes again, I decided, I will not be defeated so easily.

Sky's POV
I stared in shock at the man sprawled beneath me. Blood soaked deep into the soil around his body. Could he even be called a man? He had murdered and maimed without thought or need; even as he lay unconscious, his blood ran free from the wretched body it was host to, desperate to escape and poison the ground it sank into. Mitch stood beside me, his hand shaking as it held his bow.

I pressed my sword deep into the dirt, cleaning the blade of its rancid blood. Seto muttered under his breath, his hands conjuring a spell. They wove a purple net out of the air and enveloped Derp in it. I trekked back to the village and picked up Ian's shades. I stared at the scratched lenses. How long had he lived like this?

All Mitch and I could keep saying to ourselves was, 'He should be dead...he should be dead. We saw him die. He should be dead..."

I dreaded to think of the fresh hell Ian had been through, this time, alone.
But now, Ty had got his way. Whilst we refused to believe him, he'd stated repeatedly that we had to find him, and keep him safe. We had to find Ian, and hide him. He'd wanted him back in our home. I sighed, pocketing them. The villagers had dispersed nervously. It seemed that Ty had finished his speech.

Word would soon get round of the killers capture though, once Ty found out what had taken place whilst he'd been on stage. Ian's sunglasses were heavy as I walked back to the other. We'd fought and captured a psychopath, found our old friend and perhaps placed ourselves back on the path to danger and inevitable death. I approached Seto and Mitch; Derp's body was hovering in midair, held by the tendrils of purple magic that were woven in between Seto's fingers.

Both my friends looked pale and barely alive.

And it wasn't even noon...
