Chapter 3
"Hey! You're that blond guy I ran into last night!" Izuku exclaimed, looking at the grouchy man.
"Hey, you're that blind broccoli that ran into me last night." He said sarcastically back.
"Bakugou, don't be so hard on the new guy. You'll scare him off." A long, black haired man said, slinging his arm around the blond's shoulders.
"Don't touch me." The blond, Bakugou, said with a sigh. He moved the arm from his shoulders and watched as the other man looked very dejected.
He faked a sniffle. "You're never this mean to Kiri." He whined.
The redhead just shrugged. "Sorry, I'm just better than you." He stated, letting Izuku know that he was Kirishima.
"Hey guys, he looks a little lost. Maybe we should introduce ourselves?" Ashiso suggested.
"Kyoka Jirou." The purple haired woman said with a small nod in Izuku's direction.
"I'm Eijirou Kirishima!" Kirishima said with a beaming smile. He was probably already Izuku's favorite, besides maybe Yaoyorozu.
"Hanta Sero." The black haired man said with a small wave.
"I am Fumikage Tokoyami." Another black haired man said, his face completely stern. It threw Izuku off a little bit, everyone had seemed so nice and bubbly, besides Katsuki, but he was just mean.
"You already know me!" Ashido said happily, bouncing a little bit when she spoke.
"And he's Katsuki Bakugou, I doubt he would have introduced himself." Jirou said, pointing a thumb at Katsuki.
The blond just rolled his eyes in return. "Why would I bother? There's no point, he'd figure it out eventually, unless he was a completely idiot."
From the introductions and Todoroki's brief run down of Izuku's mission, he knew who all of them were. Besides Katsuki and Yaoyorozu. That meant they were either well hidden, or not involved with the mafia part of the company. With Yaoyorozu, she probably wasn't involved, but with Katsuki's attitude and they way he interacts with the other members, it's safe to say he's just well hidden. That only raised more questions.
"You're kind of an asshole, aren't you?" Izuku said before thinking it through. Instantly he slammed a hand over his mouth, not believing what the had just said, and to his boss that was probably a higher up in a mafia no less.
Everyone in the room gaped at him, equally as shocked. Katsuki's eyes hardened more so than they already were as they zeroed in on the one who had insulted him.
And then Kirishima and Ashido broke out into uncontrollable laughter, Sero soon following.
"Oh- oh my god- that- that was amazing! Did you see- see his face?" Ashido asked, hitting Kirishima's shoulder as she tried to talk between her wheezing.
"Priceless!" Kirishima exclaimed.
Izuku wasn't sure what to say. He didn't know if he should apologize or just leave it be and try to get over it.
'It was just an observation. I'm a complete outsider and don't have a full grasp on his personality, so he really shouldn't take it to heart. But the few things I've seen of him, he's not the type to be insulted and forget about it. I've gotten way to comfortable with the dangerous types, Sho's making me drop my guard. Ironic seeing as he's probably the one I need to watch out for the most.' Izuku mused to himself.
"Who's Sho?" Ashido's curious voice broke through Izuku's intense train of thought, startling him so much he jumped, crying out and nearly falling over.
"Wh-what? Was I talking out loud? Oh gosh, I'm sorry! I have a really bad mumbling habit. I don't even know I'm doing it most of the time." He instantly said, trying to recover. At least he hadn't said anything about Todoroki's business or why Izuku himself was really there.
"Mhm," Jirou hummed, seemingly already grabbing a stack of paperwork from Yaoyorozu and flipping through it.
"So who's Sho? And why do you need to watch out for him?" Ashido asked. She didn't seem suspicious or threatening. To Izuku, it sounded like she just wanted to know some juicy gossip.
"O-oh, um, he's just... he's just a friend. He can be a little hot headed sometimes so, yeah..." Izuku said, trailing off as he ran out of things to say.
Ashido seemed thoroughly disappointed in the answer, but Katsuki and Tokoyami both looked like they thought there was more to the story. If they did, neither of them pushed it.
"C'mon morons, we've got shit to do." Katsuki said, motioning for the others to follow him down the hall. The soon all flooded out, waving a few goodbyes to the secretaries before they were gone.
"Well," Izuku said, letting out a breath and turning to Yaoyorozu. "Bakugou seems intense."
The taller girl let out a light laugh at his words. "Yes, you could say that." She mused.

Izuku's first day went by fairly fast and soon he was on his way to Todoroki's, knowing that the other man would want to know everything about his first day. When he reached Todoroki's residency, he walked right in, just like normal.
Just to have a revolver aimed at his face as soon as he shut the door behind him.
"What the hell?!" Izuku shouted, immediately holding his hands up in the air.
"Fucking hell Izu, knock once in a while!" Todoroki exclaimed, dropping the gun back to his side once he saw who had entered his house.
"I never knock, you prick! You should know this by now!" Izuku argued, smacking Todoroki's chest as payback.
The two toned male just rolled his eyes and grabbed Izuku's wrist, preventing him from, trying, to do any damage. "Why're you hear Izu? You seemed pretty adamant last night and I really didn't expect to see you back for a few more days." Todoroki stated.
Izuku's scowled deepened. Of course Todoroki was cocky enough to think that he'd come back sooner or later. Apparently Izuku just can't live without him for more than a week!
"I'm here because I took that stupid job. And for the record, if I die, I'm coming back and haunting you!" Izuku threatened, using his free hand to hit Todoroki's chest again.
He earned a light chuckle from the taller male. "I wouldn't put it passed you. So what'd you find out?" Todoroki asked, wanting to know about any new intel Izuku might have picked up on his first day.
"Not a whole lot. The Chicago Times goes through a lot of really tiring paperwork, but nothing suspicious." Izuku said with a shrug.
"How about the people you work with?" Todoroki asked back, grabbing Izuku by the hand and pulling him up the stairs and down the hall to his office.
"Jirou, Kirishima, Ashido, Tokoyami, and Sero. All of whom you have on file. I work directly for Kirishima and Ashido. Then there's two others that you don't have. Momo Yaoyorozu and Katsuki Bakugou. At least I've never heard of either. Yaoyorozu is a secretary like me, so I doubt she has anything to do with it. But Bakugou, he definitely does, there's no possible way he's not a part of it." Izuku explained, already having taken a seat across from Todoroki at his desk.
"Katsuki Bakugou? I've never heard of him either. Are you sure he's a player?" Todoroki asked back, not really believing that someone who's high up enough to be working directly with the others could be apart of the mafia and go under the radar.
"Trust me, if you would have met the guy you would understand that he practically screams 'I'm part of the mafia'." Izuku said, crossing his arms and pouting a little bit.
Todoroki shot him a slightly amused look. "Awe baby, was he mean to you?" He asked in a teasing voice.
Izuku didn't even care about the nickname or the teasing. "Yes! He called me broccoli!" He exclaimed, frowning even deeper when he saw Todoroki try to hold in a laugh.
"It's not funny Shoto! He's a jerk and I have to work for him until you figure yourself out." Izuku complained, throwing himself back in the chair he was seated in.
"I'm not figuring myself out, I'm trying to destroy a rival mafia, it's a little bit different." Todoroki corrected, looking through a few papers on his desk.
"Whatcha doing?" Izuku asked, leaning forwards to try and catch a glimpse at the papers.
"Going through liquor sales." Todoroki said monotonously, not even bothering to look up.
"Fun." Izuku said sarcastically. He pushed himself out of the chair and started for Todoroki's office door, ready to leave and head home.
"Where're you going?" Todoroki called.
"Home. I'm tired." Izuku said shortly.
There was a sigh from behind him. "Can we talk about last night?" Todoroki asked, his voice softer than usually. It caught Izuku off guard.
"I said what I said, now get over it." Izuku said back, not turning around out of fear for what he might see. He knew how his words would hurt Todoroki, but he knew it was something that needed to be said. The other man couldn't just keep yanking him around like he had been, and he had willingly sent Izuku into one of the most dangerous situations in his life, which was saying something because he hung out with a mafia leader.
He didn't pausing any longer and marched right out of the office and Todoroki's house as a whole. He picked up speed and was nearly running down the streets of late night Chicago.
Until he ran right into someone.
"I'm so so- Oh you've got to be kidding me."
