Chapter 14

The day went by fairly easily. Izuku was able to keep up with Yaoyorozu and get all of his required work done.

They didn't end up staying at the office for nearly as long as the previous night, which everyone was thankful for. Yoayorozu made them all dinner, which they ate quickly and then all headed off to their respective rooms to catch up on some sleep.

"So um, how long am I staying with you?" Izuku asked as he took a seat on Katsuki's bed and watched him start working at his desk again.

He was in pajamas this time, thanks to Kaminari buying him some new clothes while the others were at work. Kaminari is apparently really great at the physical aspect of being in a mafia, but isn't the brightest and just opts out for not working at the paper.

"In my room or house?" Katsuki asked, not taking his attention away from his work.

"Uh, both I guess?" Izuku answered. Originally he just wanted to know how long he would be forced to room with Katsuki, but he guessed it wouldn't hurt to know when they were going to kick him out all together.

"You can have your own room when I trust you." Katsuki said, causing Izuku to nod. He could understand that condition. He wasn't too sure he'd trust himself either. "And you can leave the house whenever you want. None of us are holding you at gunpoint."

That last part made Izuku widen his eyes slightly.

"I meant more when are you going to kick me out?" He clarified.

Katsuki finally dragged his eyes away from the papers in front of him and narrowed them at Izuku. "We aren't. You wouldn' be here if I was just going to kick you out in a few weeks. That's pointless."

Izuku didn't know how to respond, other than gaping at the blond in complete shock.

"What?" Katsuki asked, his face showing his confusion towards Izuku's reaction.

"You- you're just going to take me in and let me live here?..." Izuku asked, feeling as if this was definitely a trick.

The blond groaned at the question, now actually having to actually explain himself. "Don't read too much into it, it's just I'm kind of the reason you can't go back to your life. I dragged you back into this and now you've got a target on your back." Katsuki said, letting his eyes wander back to his work so he didn't have to look at the greenette.

Unfortunately for him, Izuku noticed the very light shade of pink on his cheeks.

"Awe, do you feel bad for ruining my life? That's sweet." Izuku cooed, actually being genuine.

Katsuki didn't seem to think so. "You ruined it when you started hanging around the half and half bastard. That had nothing to do with me." He sneered defensively.

Izuku shook his head and scrambled to the edge of the bed closest to Katsuki. "That's not what I meant! I know I'm the one who screwed it up, I'm just genuinely thankful that you're helping me out." He explained, waving his arms around erratically.

Which resulted in him falling off the bed, face first.

He ended up just laying there for a few moments, stunned and not really sure what had just happened. He didn't actually move until he heard Katsuki's laughter.

Then he sat up, leaning back against the couch, his face on fire. "I'm really clumsy, okay? Leave me alone!" He nearly shouted in his embarrassment.

"Sure, Deku." Katsuki said in between chuckles.

"Useless? Really? That's mean." Izuku said with a small scowl directed at the floor.

"I don't know, you seem pretty useless to me, Deku." Katsuki said with a shrug and humor in his voice.

"Oh great, you're going to call me that forever now, aren't you? Just like you call Kaminari sparky." Izuku asked with a grumble. Not only would he have to deal with Katsuki calling him Deku all the time, but he'd also have to deal with the others laughing at how he got the name.

"Damn right." Katsuki said with another chuckle.

The blond couldn't remember the last time he had laughed as much as he had in the past day or two with this very odd secretary.

He didn't know if he liked it or not.

"Fine, if you're gonna give me a stupid nickname, then I'll give you one." Izuku said defiantly.

Katsuki just looked at him with a "Oh really?" sort of look.

Izuku was quiet for a few seconds as he thought of something that would humiliate the blond as much as Deku. "Hm, how about Kacchan?" He asked finally, watching Katsuki to gauge his reaction.

The sour look on his face was all the answer Izuku needed.

"Kacchan it is!" He said proudly, picking himself up off the ground and sitting on the bed again.

"No fucking way am I letting you call me that." Katsuki said with a scowl in Izuku's direction.

The green haired male crossed his arms over his chest and matched the scowl. "Then don't call me Deku. It's stupid and degrading."

Katsuki had to suppress a smirk at Izuku's sass. He was a stuttering fool the previous night and it was amusing to watch how quickly he could snap into this feisty personality.

"I think you're forgetting which one of us has a gun." Katsuki said, resting his head on his palm as he watched to see how Izuku would magically turn the tides once again. There wasn't a whole lot of doubt in the blond's mind that he would.

Izuku matched his smirk and tilted his head to the side. Katsuki got ready to hear what he had to say that would make him forfeit.

"But Kacchan," he started, emphasizing the nickname. "Don't you feel bad that you put a target on my back for my crazy ex that I had just managed to shake him off before you decided to mess around with his head and then throw me back to him?" Izuku finished with an innocent smile.

Yeah, Izuku won.

The next morning, Katsuki was once again asleep at his desk when Izuku woke up. The shorter of the two frowned at that, feeling bad that he had stolen the blond's bed.

Instead of waking him up, Izuku just got out of bed and grabbed a clean set of clothes. He looked over at the sleeping Katsuki nervously, wondering if he'd sleep sound enough for Izuku to change before he woke up.

He decided to just do it quickly and pray that he was a heavy sleeper. To his luck, Katsuki was.

Izuku managed to sneak out of the room, only waking Katsuki up when he shut the door, but he was already gone and didn't even notice.

Now with a vague feel for the big house, Izuku was able to manage to find his way to the kitchen, where Yaoyorozu, Jirou, and Mina were already starting their day.

"Morning." He said when he walked in, accepting a cup of coffee that Mina poured for him.

"How're you adjusting?" Yaoyorozu asked, rubbing one of Jirou's arms while she cooked. Today, the purple haired woman stood behind Yaoyorozu, her arms wrapped around her waist and her head buried in the taller's back.

Izuku shrugged as he chugged some of the coffee. "Pretty well I guess, kind of miss my wife, but you know, you win some you lose some."

Mina did a spit take at his words.

Jirou moved her head from her girlfriend's back and stared at him in shock. "You're married?" She asked.

"To a woman?" Mina added.

"Whoa, you have a wife?" Kirishima asked, walking in with a half asleep Kaminari on his back, but he seemed wide awake a few seconds later.

"Well not-" Izuku tried to explain, not even realising that he'd called Uraraka his wife, he had just kind of gotten into the habit of doing that. He even did it around Todoroki most of the time and the half and half man had learned to ignore it.

Kaminari jumped off Kirishima's back and cut Izuku off. "There's no way you're married to a girl, you're gayer than I am!" He shouted in disbelief.

"Midoriya's married to a girl?" Sero asked, walking into the kitchen and taking a cup of coffee from Mina, whose mouth was still wide in shock.

"I thought he was with Todoroki? I'm very confused." Tokoyami said, startling Izuku. He hadn't noticed him sitting at the table when he first walked in.

Kirishima walked over to the doorway of the kitchen and stuck his head out. "Bakugou! Midoriya has a wife! Did you know about that?" He yelled loudly.

There was a thud from up the stairs and then a shout back. "No! Since when is that fucker married?"

Katsuki was in the kitchen a few seconds later, looking slightly out of breath as he adjusted his tie, his suspenders were still hanging down by his waist. "You have a wife?" He asked in annoyance and just seemed down right tired with Izuku's shit.

Izuku's face was now completely red as everyone in the kitchen stared at him and waited for an answer. Because there were so many people and he was still very socially awkward, he shouted, "She's a lesbian!"

Dead silence.

Followed by booming laughter.

Izuku fiddled with his bow tie as he kept his gaze on the ground. "We're both gay, we're really good friends, and to keep suspicion away, we just moved in together and told everyone we're married. We're not actually, just when family visits or we need to go to an office work part or something dumb like that." He fully explained.

Mina was on the ground, laughing her ass off with Kaminari right next to her. "Oh jeez Midoriya, that's- that's- honestly I'd expect nothing less." Kaminari said.

"What's that supposed to mean?" Izuku asked, frowning while he thought it was some sort of insult.

The electric blond shook his head as he used the counter to pull himself up. "No, no, not bad. It's just, of course you'd think that far ahead to have a fake wife so you could pretend to be straight."

"Oh," Izuku said in understanding. "Well, um, thanks. I think." He said, scrunching his nose as he still tried to figure out if it was a compliment or not.

"Anytime." Kaminari said, leaning against Kirishima, both still lightly chuckling.

Suddenly the sparky boy's eyes went wide and he shot Izuku a mischievous grin. "Is this lesbian wife prehaps dating anyone?" He asked.

Izuku was very confused by this question. "I thought you were gay? I thought you were with Kirishima? Plus Uraraka is just a lesbian, as in you're not really her type." He said, look close to a lost puppy while talking.

"What? No- not for me, dumbass." Kaminari said, his cheeks a light shade of pink at the insinuation. "For Mina! Gosh, you know, the other lesbian we know."

"Oh! Um, yeah, she is single. You'd probably really like her Mina." Izuku said, looking over at the pink haired girl, who did seem bothered that they were trying to set her up.

"Hm, I don't know Midoriya, do you really want me to swoop in and steal your wife like that? Because trust me, ring or no, you won't stand a chance." Mina joked, sending a wink in his direction.

Emerald eyes rolled back at her. "If I'm living with a mafia, it doesn't really matter if my wife leaves me or not. Why keep up appearances when you have no reason to?" Izuku said back, already planning on how to tell Uraraka that he was apparently moving out and trying to set her up with a member of a mafia. Maybe he just wouldn't say anything. Yeah, he'd let Mina tell her if they actually hit it off.

"Fair, fair." Mina said with a nod as he returned to drinking her coffee.
