Chapter 12

"Oh you've got to be kidding." Izuku grumbled to himself when he found out where he'd be staying.

Spoiler alert, it was with Katsuki.

Apparently he wasn't trusted on his own, or with any of the others. So he was basically going to be babysat by the blond.

Fan-fucking-tastic.

Kirishima leaned over to Izuku, once again whispering to him, but this time for real. "Don't worry, I know Bakugou comes off as an asshole, but he's a good guy once you get to know him." He said, offering a smile to the greenette.

Kirishima's words did little to sooth his anxieties though. Not only was he not going to be there long enough to get to this 'good guy' side, but he still had to get past the 'asshole' before even thinking about that. He was so screwed.

Izuku had half the mind to just run in the night and tell Shoto he couldn't do this. But then he remembered he'd probably fare worse with the dual haired man than Katsuki at the moment, and he decided against it.

"C'mon nerd, I still have shit I have to do." Katsuki said with a grunt as he grabbed Izuku's upper arm and dragged him up the extravagant staircase and down a few halls. Eventually they stopped in front of a door and Izuku pushed into the room.

The room alone was probably bigger than Izuku and Uraraka's whole apartment. It was way emptier though, only sporting a bed, dresser, and messy desk.

"You can sleep or whatever, I've got a bunch of useless paperwork I need to do." Katsuki muttered, already abandoning Izuku for the desk in the corner.

Izuku watched as Katsuki flicked on a small lamp and sat down, getting right to work. The shorter scratched at his arm awkwardly, unsure of what to do now.

After a few moments, Katsuki set his pen down with a sigh, dragging his glaring red eyes to Izuku once again. "Just take the fucking bed, I doubt I'll really sleep tonight anyways." He gritted out, obviously annoyed with the anxious and awkward boy in his room.

"O-oh um, okay then." Izuku mumbled, hesitantly crawling into the bed and getting comfortable under the covers. He was so exhausted from recent events, he was out like a light a few minutes later.

After a while, Katsuki looked over, making sure that he hadn't zoned out enough for Izuku to somehow leave without him noticing. He was pleasantly surprised to find him completely passed out.

"What a fucking nerd." The blond said with a small 'tch'.

He ended up becoming side tracked by the thought of the smaller boy and Shoto Todoroki. Katsuki still thought that this was way too easy. How had Izuku even gotten away from Todoroki with his life? The dual haired leader had to have known that Izuku would run as far as possible, or even come straight to Katsuki. If Izuku did exactly what he did, Todoroki would have had to know that the blond would be using him for information.

Which meant Todoroki either knew exactly what he was doing, or he didn't think Izuku knew anything important enough to need to be dealt with.

Either way, Katsuki didn't seem to have the winning hand.

Which led to another thought. This was either a set up and Izuku was playing a double agent, just waiting to back stab him, or Izuku was completely useless to him.

But the most troubling part of it was he wasn't sure which one he preferred.

The next morning, Izuku woke up before Katsuki. He didn't realize it until he noticed the blond passed out on his desk. He had to stifle a chuckle at the sight.

Izuku yawned as he pushed himself out of the bed, slightly uncomfortable with the fact he had slept in his normal clothes last night and now he was just going to continue wearing them. He'd seriously need to ask if he could go back to his place and get clothes. Or have Uraraka bring some. Or-

"For the love of God, we can buy you some fucking clothes, just shut the hell up."

Izuku let out a small yelp when Katsuki suddenly spoke up, scaring him half to death. "I-I... I'm sorry, I didn't realise I was mumbling again." He said in a quiet and embarrassed voice, his face bright red.

Katsuki lazily lifted his head, his red eyes squinting in disbelief. "Again? How often do you do that?" He asked, dreading the answer. He knew it was going to be way more often than he'd like.

Scratching his neck and smiling sheepishly, Izuku avoided eye contact. "Um, a lot?" He offered up, sounding more like a question than a real answer.

Katsuki pushed himself up from his desk as he walked over to his dresser to get out clean clothes for the day. "I'm going to tape your goddamn mouth closed." He muttered, but it didn't seem like a threat he actually planned on going through with.

Once he had his new clothes in hand, he walked over to the bed, tossing them in front of him and unbuttoning the first two buttons of his shirt. Then he turned to Izuku with a raised brow. "You plan on watching or something?" He asked, clearly enjoying how red the other's face became.

Instantly Izuku was out of the bed completely and gunning it for the door to the room, faintly hearing chuckles from behind him. As soon as he was safely out of the room, he closed the door behind him and leaned against it, trying to calm his blush.

"Jesus, what happened to you?" Someone asked, startling Izuku for the second time that day. Ever since working for the newspaper, he seems to be getting startled more and more.

Izuku's eyes snapped to the stranger as he tried to decipher who the hell he was. He had yellow hair, not blond, yellow, with a black squiggly line on one side. He also had a goofy looking smile and just a friendly feeling to him.

"Oh um, it's nothing, really." Izuku said with a nervous chuckle, too embarrassed to tell him what really happened.

Confusion soon took over the stranger's face as he looked at the door behind Izuku and then the hall they were in. "Hey that's Bakugou's room, why were you in- Oh wait, you're the Todoroki guy, right?!" He asked, excitement coming out of nowhere as he nearly pounced on Izuku.

Once again, Izuku let out a very awkward laugh at the situation. "The whole point is that I'm not a Todoroki guy anymore, but yes, I suppose I am that guy." He answered.

"I'm Denki Kaminari, nice to meet you!" The blond said, holding a hand out for Izuku to shake. "Midoriya, right?"

Izuku nodded in confirmation, shaking the other boy's hand with a smile. "Nice to meet you as well." He said, sounding more formal than he realized.

"You can relax dude, I'm super laid back compared to Mister Murder in there." Kaminari said in a joking tone, but Izuku tensed and his eyes went wide.

That's right, Katsuki was a murder, along with everyone else in that house, probably. Maybe even Kaminari. Izuku was stupid to foget that. He was there on a mission, not to make friends or ogle the blond in the room behind him.

Not that he was ogling or anything!

"Are you okay? You look kind of sick." Kaminari asked in concern. "Oh wait, it was probably the murder thing, right? I just figured since you were like, a thing with Todoroki, murder would be an easier topic. My bad, I'm sorry." He said, scratching at the back of his neck.

Izuku suddenly decided that he like Kaminari, murder or not. He has dated one before so what would it matter if he befriended one more?

"No, no, you're okay. Not your fault I'm still squeamish." Izuku said, shaking his head and offering a smile.

Suddenly the world tilted on its axis and the next thing Izuku knew, he was on the ground, looking up, directly at a smirking blond with crimson eyes.
