Chapter 10

"Now, let's talk business." Katsuki said, leaning back in his chair and motioning for Izuku to take a seat in one of the empty chairs in front of his desk.

"B-business?" Izuku stuttered out. His confusion shown as bright as day, making Katsuki question how he had survived in the mafia world for so long.

The blond pinched the bridge of his nose in annoyance at the question. "Yes, business. I'm not just going to take you in off the streets with no gain whatsoever. It's a mafia, not a shelter." He hissed the last part out, not taking kindly to people who looked down upon his group.

Izuku's eyes widened a fraction at the tone, realizing then how his question must have sounded. "O-oh, of course." He mumbled, letting his head fall low as he tried to avoid eye contact.

Katsuki raised a brow at the other male in front of him. "So? What'd you have to offer?" He asked, needing to know if it was truly worth it to look after another mafia's reject.

"U-um, I don't know- What'd you want?" Izuku questioned, unsure of what exactly he did have to offer. As he had already told Todoroki, he had no training or experience. The only thing Izuku could even think that he had of worth would be-

"You were close with Todoroki. Tell me everything you know."

Would be that.

He had inside information, although not a lot. Todoroki was very secretive and it seemed as though he never truly trusted the green haired man. He knew a few simple things, beside his own missions that he would never admit to Katsuki, but he doubted it was what the blond wanted to hear.

"I-I don't know if I-" Izuku started to deflect, knowing that if he so much as spilt a single secret, he'd be hunted down by Todoroki for real.

Katsuki gritted his teeth and cut him off. "I don't care what you don't know, tell me what you do, or you can get the fuck out of my office and continue running from the half and half bastard." He threatened.

Another thing, Izuku knew that if he failed again, he would be running from the half and half bastard for real. There really was no winning for the short male. Everywhere he seemed to turn led right back to pain and suffering.

He was utterly screwed and life was eating chips while laughing in his face.

Izuku shook his head rapidly at the blond, hoping that he could still worm his way out of the situation. "I really don't know much! Shoto was always a very secretive man and rarely ever told me about his business. I honestly just know his relations with others, he had a habit of needing to vent about all the other people he worked with." He explained quickly.

There were a few aspects of the business that Izuku knew about. He knew where a few of Todoroki's supply chains were and undercover deals, but he'd be dead if he ever uttered a word of it, especially to Katsuki.

"So tell me about that. Knowing who exactly he hates will make it easier for us to form alliances with them." Katsuki told him, shrugging slightly as he spoke. The blond had no doubts that Todoroki had kept most of his business affairs away from the shaking male in front of him, so he was willing to take whatever he could get.

"U-um, well I know that he and this other guy, I think his name is... Monomo or-"

"Monoma?" Katsuki offered, knowing of the man Izuku was speaking about.

The green haired man's eyes light up at the name. "Yeah! That guy! Well he and Shoto have been... feuding, I guess, for a lack of better term, ever since Shoto stole one of his guys, Hitoshi Shinso. I still don't really know why he suddenly jumped ship, but I know it wasn't pretty for either side." Izuku finished. It didn't seem like vital information, so he wasn't too hesitant about offering it up.

But the gleam in Katsuki's eyes told Izuku that he probably should have guarded that information closer.

"That's... great, actually." The blond mused, writing something down on a piece of paper next to him. "What else you got, pipsqueak?"

"P-pipsqueak? Really?" Izuku asked, distaste evident on his features.

"Deku work better?" Katsuki asked with a raised brow, finding that he enjoyed messing with the shorter male.

"Y'know what, I was right when we first met. You are an asshole." Izuku stated with a small pout as he crossed his arms over his chest.

He nearly jumped a foot into the air when he heard Katsuki's booming laughter from in front of him. It was... weird, to say the least. He didn't peg Katsuki as a laughing kind of guy, so the fact he was laughing so hard at his words was strange.

"You got a lot of nerve for someone who ran to me for help." Katsuki said, once he had his laughter under control. He didn't know why, but something about the little, green haired man intrigued him. It probably had something to do with the fact he had been able to call him an asshole, to his face, twice.

Izuku sighed, letting his head drop into his hands in defeat. "I know, I know, I'm sorry. That was rude." He mumbled out his apology.

Katsuki stood up, walking over to his door, but not before flicking Izuku's head as he passed. "Don't be, it'll probably be the only reason I keep you around, Deku." He walked right out after that.

Izuku gaped to himself after watching the blond man walk out of the office. "What just..." He stated to ask himself, but stopped. What was there to even ask? What would be the point anyway? He didn't know the answer and there was no one else present to ask.

Instead, he opted out for just stating some facts. "I'm going to fail this, so, so badly." He muttered. "And then I'm going to die, because let's face it, karma loves fucking me over."

"Well aren't you the optimist."
