Trapped
People didn't seem to care as we ran down the street. They turned their heads, sure, but they never stopped to help us. Not one, of those hundreds of people April and I sprinted past, decided to ask if we were okay, or tried to stop the dogs from coming after us.
these people flinched when the dogs barked but they didn't seem to care. I guess they just thought were evo's and deserved this. Well, we are evo's, but we don't deserve this.
I led the way, with April following close by, I'd take us in between buildings and alley ways, but noting seemed to shake these mutts.
Where's a god damn river when you need one.
"Take a left!" I hear April shout from behind me, and I see her little opening. It was another alley way, this city seemed to be full of them.
So I turned down it, skidding as I do, with April doing the same, but we both abruptly stop.
"Of course there's a frigging fence," I mumble, it wasn't even directed towards April, it was more the fact that every single frigging time the hero tries to out run who ever is chasing them, they end up being turned down a hallway/alleyway which either blocked by more bad guys, a wall or a fence.
With an annoyed sigh, I try to run up the fence, reaching out my hands to grab the top of wooden, but i meet nothing but splinters and old nails sliding along my hand.
"Damn it." I shout slamming my hand into fence. "Come on, we gotta..."
"I don't think that's going to happen." April pointed out, staring back at the entrance.
A deep, rumbling growl escaped from the two animals who stood there, blocking our escape. They flashed their yellow fangs at us, before the black furred one on the left barked loudly.
"You're shitting me." I mumble, knowing that we don't have a proper escape.
These dogs will always know where we are, and we don't know this city. We don't know where the water is, we can't outrun them, there is no escape.
That's when we heard the mass footsteps, but not just one, there were so many more.
"Josh! Sammy! Where are they boys!?" A feminine voice called out, but it was filled with authority. The dogs barked at us one more, assuming that their names.
I take April's hand in my own, doing what we always do, hiding in plain sight.
Those dogs narrowed their eyes but sniggered the air once more and growled at us once again, showing the approaching people that we were still there.
From around the corner more seemed to join. Men and women rounded the corner, all dressed in uniform and all ready to capture us.
We are so screwed.
"Nice work you two." She mumbled placing her hand on one of the dogs head.
"Maddy, they aren't here." A gruff male voice chimes in from the crowd.
With another bark from the two dogs, in our direction, they were proven wrong.
The blonde girl at the front, Maddy, held her gun at the ready, dark brown eyes scanning over every small area we could be hiding, "I trust my dogs Teddy, they're here."
I really wish we weren't
"We'll we'll find out soon enough." Teddy readies his gun, and fire in our direction.
April flinched, holding onto me tighter as she waited for bullets to erupt out of the gun.
But, looking at it, there didn't seem to be a barrel. Was it actually a proper gun? "Oh n-"
A shrill of a noise entered my ears, piercing my eardrum. It was high pitched and felt like someone was screaming right next to my ear.
Simultaneously, April and I screamed in pain, dropping into our knees with our hands covering our ears.
As soon as we did, we were visible, with ten or more guns fixed on us. If we moved, we'd be dead.
