Heat

Everything was all over the place. I got transported here and there, with hardly any time to take in what was happening.

At first, I watched two people walk away from a screaming girl. She had tears streaming down her face, watching as a woman handed her over to another man.

"I'm sorry. But I had to baby. I'm so sorry." The woman cried as well, as another girl ran to her mother, looking almost identical came to her side.

"Mummy, where's Talon going?" She asked, pure innocence in her voice.

The woman had to look away as the man carried her out the door. "She's going to say away from here, for a while."

Then I couldn't see them anymore. All I could see was the girl who was taken.

It was awful, and I felt a knot in my stomach watching as she screamed and cried for her mother and tried to kick and hit the man.

He then placed her into the car, and knocked on the drivers window.

"Take her away from here. I have some business to take care of. I'll take the other car."

The girl, who I'm guessing is called Talon, watched from the back windscreen as the car drove away. I was seated next to her in the car, hearing the agonising screams for her Mum.

"MUMMY!!" She screamed, and I turned to see that her mother had run out after her. But broke down crying when she couldn't reach her.

Instead what I saw, shocked me.

The mother, grabbed a knife from behind her and slashed his throat.

A hand flew to my mouth and I wasn't in front that litter girl anymore. Instead I was somewhere else.

In the middle of a hallway, with cracked and broken walls and tattered brown carpets. I walked along, trying to find Talon.

"Don't disrespect me child." I heard an older woman's voice shout, which took me into a room off to my left.

I walked in just in time to see the woman clap an order Talon across the face. "You are in my house, and you listen to my rules." She was slapped again.

She must have only been nine years old, but for such a young girl, the look in her eye was threatening.

I could see that she had to push her lips together to not say anything back. "You're lucky I haven't thrown you out on the streets yet." She scolded, before she disappeared.

Then the scene changed to more abuse. She was moved to a foster home, or that's what it looks like.

I watched her walk past me, carrying a silver tray. She looked tense, worried about making a wrong move.

She took it to a man, who did not look happy. "You're late." He grumbled, grabbing the coffee of the plate. He took one sip, before spitting it back in her face. "It's fucking awful."

Talon didn't move, only stood still as the contents of the tray were knocked off, with an evil glint in the mans eyes. "Useless."

She growled, grabbing the tray, before she attacked him. Hitting his head with the tray, before she dropped it, having lost a grip on it with a melted handle.

The man was dead.
