Chapter 8

Previously on Chapter 7

He just stares at me for a few seconds, before turning his head away. Suo and Nirei finally stops laughing after a while. I rolled my eyes and gently bonk their heads. "I told you both to stop laughing!" I said. They flinched at my action. They muttered a soft apology. I shake my head as I let out a soft sigh. Goodness! That sure was embarrassing.

-My Heart Feels Weird-

Y/N P.O.V

There's no real classes here in Furin. We just gather here, and ended up having to take a patrol around the town. Our job is to make sure no one would try and create chaos.

Today, however, Umemiya-San requested that I go and help Kotoha at the cafe. In which I just agree. A short break from all the fighting would be nice to have. My whole body aches from having to fight a lot.

"So... Y/N. How's your time with the Furin boys?" Kotoha said. I turn my head to look at her and shrugs. "Nothing interesting happened?" She asked.

I turn to look at her. I think about it momentarily and shakes my head. "Not much. Aside from the fact that they're very welcoming to me. It's kind of hard for me to fully adjust, considering the fact that I'm the only girl there" I said. She hums softly at what I said. She gives my shoulder a gentle pat before turning her focus on the costumers.

The door to the cafe opens up. I turn my head to see it's Sakura and the others. I send them a quick smile before turning my focus on cutting up the veggies again. I'm so glad that I made the decision to move to this part of the town. The people here are better compare to them.

Also, everything in Furin is exactly what I need. I'd much prefer to use my fists to protect the weak, rather than to trample over them. Which is why Furin is the perfect and ideal place for me.

I gently place a plate filled with Omurice in front of Sakura. "There you go, Sakura. I'm still learning how to cook it. So, don't expect too much, okay?" I said. He turn his head to look at me. He grabs the spoon. He place the spoon inside his mouth. I stare at him nervously as he chews it with his eyes closed.

He opens his eyes to look at me. His cheeks turns red when he realize I was watching him the whole time. He turns his head away from me. Even his ears have turned red.

"It's delicious..." he said. I let out a sigh of relief and smiled brightly at him. My reaction only makes his face turns redder. "Wh- W-Why are you s-smiling at me like that?" He said, nervously.

"Eh? Nothing! I'm just happy that you like my cooking, Sakura" I said. He flinched at what I said. He just turn his head away from me. But I can clearly see his face. I let out a soft giggle, as I lightly shake my head. I turn around and wash my hands.

Sakura P.O.V

I glance at Y/N whose back is facing me. The smile on her face that was directed to me, makes me feel all tingly inside. I've never felt like this before. Why do I even feel this way?

"Do you like her or something?" A voice whispered in my ear. I jump at the sudden voice. I turn my head to look at the person. I feel my cheeks growing hotter at what he just said.

"Don't talk nonsense!" I hissed at him. Everyone turns their heads to look at me. "What?" I asked. I turn my head to look at Y/N, who just stares at me. I clear my throat as I turn my head away from the h/c haired girl. That can't be it. I can't possibly be catching feelings for her... right?

It's time for the cafe to close as the sun has begin to set. I help Kotoha clean up the cafe. "Kotoha... I'll be heading off first, okay?" I said. She turn her head to look at me and nods her head, smiling softly. I smile back at her. I turn around and walks out of the cafe.

"Hey..." a voice said. I jump at the sudden voice. I turn around and raise my fists. "Oi, relax! It's just me" the person said, raising both of his hands in surrender. I let out a sigh of relief when I realize it's just Sakura.

"Don't sneak up on me like that, idiot. I could've punch you by accident" I said. He let out a chuckle as he walks up to stand next to me. "What are you doing?" I asked, staring at him in confusion.

"Walking you home..." he said, simply. I blink my eyes in surprise at what he said. "That is... if it's okay with you" he said, rubbing his neck nervously. His cheeks starts to turn red.

"I'd appreciate that. Thank you, Sakura" I said, smiling softly at him. His cheeks turns even redder. I let out a soft giggle and shake my head. We start to walk again. "Aside the constant fight... it's actually quite peaceful around here. It's way different from where I came from" I said, moving to hold my hands together behind me.

"Where do you come from?" Sakura said. I turn my head to look at him. He's staring at me as he waits for me to give him an answer. I just keep staring at him. "W-Why are you s-staring? I know I look weird" he said.

"Weird?" I questioned, staring at him in confusion. I move closer to him. "What makes you say that?" I asked. He turned his head away from me. He starts to tell me that he used to be hated from the town he came from because of his looks.

"Well, "weird" is not the word I'd use to describe your appearance" I said. I smile softly at him. He just stares at me. "You're unique, Sakura. Your dual hair colors, along with your eyes. I've always thought that people with heterochromia eyes to be quite intriguing. In my opinion, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the way you look... nothing at all" I said. I give him a closed eyed smile. "Sometimes... it's okay to be different, because that means we're special. YOU are special" I said.

I turn my head to look at the sky. It's still orange, so it's not too dark yet. "Hey, look... there's a rainbow" I said. Sakura turn his head to look at where I was pointing. "You know why rainbow is always so addicting to look at and why it's so beautiful?" I said. He shakes his head. I let out a soft giggle and turn to look at the sky again. "It's beautiful because it's multicolored. Imagine if there's only one color. Nothing is special about it" I said. I turn to look at Sakura who just stares at the rainbow.

"Oh! Let's not forget about the aurora borealis or also known as the Northern or Southern Lights" I said. He turn his head to look at me. I smile softly at him.

"What's that?" He asked. I blink my eyes in surprise to know he didn't know what's Northern or Southern lights are. I smile softly and reaches inside my pocket, pulling out my phone. I did a quick search and shows him the picture of it.

"See? Also multicolored" I said. He stares at the picture on my phone. He turns his head to look at me. "Heck. A lot of people dyed their hair all the time to have different shade of hair color. With all those bleach and dye. Not caring if they're ruining their hairs. All of that and for what? To have multicolored hair" I said. I place my finger on my chin as I think.

"Ombré? I believe that's what's it's called" I said. I place my hands on his shoulders as I grin at him. "But you're born with it, Sakura. You should be proud of yourself..." I said.

"Y/N... thank you" he said. His voice cracks a little. I tilt my head slightly as I stare at him in confusion. I flinch when he suddenly wraps his arms around me. "Thank you so much..." he whispered softly, arms tightening around me.

My eyes widen as he just continue to hold me. I feel my heart starts to beat faster. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion. My heart feels weird. What's wrong with it?
