I don't wanna be alone...

-Hesitation-

Y/N P.O.V

It's been a year since my grandmother passed away. She was the only family I had. Now I'm all alone. Actually, a lady asked if I want to live with her. But I politely refuse her offer, because I don't wanna be a burden to anyone. I had to learn how to survive on my own.

I didn't go to school, because I can't afford to pay the fee. So, I just decided to go and look for a job. But so far, I've been getting no luck. It's so hard to get a job nowadays. Which makes it hard for me to survive, since I have no money.

I walk down the road of the city. When I hear a scream. I turn my head to see a man running my way. Behind him is a lady, chasing after him. Apparently the man just took her purse.

I close my eyes as I let out a sigh. I run my hand through my hair as I take a step forward, right on the way the man is running. "Hey!! Get out of the way!" He yelled out at me. I slowly open my eyes and turn to look at him as he's nearing me. I lift my feet, kicking him right on the face.

He spins a few times before landing on the ground with a loud thud. I walk towards him as he moves to sit. My hands are on my hips as I stare at him with a cold gaze.

"So, are you going to hand it over or am I going to have to use force?" I asked. He clicks his tongue as he stands up. He lift both of his fists at me. I let out a sigh. "Well, force it is then..." I muttered. I duck when he's about to strike me.

I swipe him off his feet, making him fall on the ground once again. "You're kind of slow. Should I call you an old man instead?" I commented. He growl angrily at my comment. I huffed in annoyance as he took a stance once again. I should just get this over with. I rush towards him. I lift my feet, looping it around the front of his neck and slams him down.

I sit on his chest and punches his face as hard as I could. His body went limp as he loses his consciousness. "That should do the trick. You better not try to steal ever again, you stupid old fart" I said. I turn my head to look at the lady. I smile softly at her. I reaches down and grabs her purse from the ground.

"Here you go, miss... be careful next time, yeah?" I said. She takes the purse and smiles gratefully at me. I lift my hand, and waves at her. I turn around to walk away, but stop when I hear her calling out to me.

"What's your name?" She asked. I just tell her my name. She smiles at me. "Thank you once again, Y/N-Chan. Is there any way I could repay you?" She asked. I open my mouth to speak, when my stomach makes a sound. I feel my cheeks heating up from embarrassment. "Oh, you're hungry? I ran a shop near by... come with me and I'll serve you something to eat" she said.

"Eh?" I said, blinking my eyes in surprise. Before I get a chance to say anything else. She had already grabbed my wrist and pulls me along with her. Looks like I have no choice but to go along with her. She also seems quite determined to repay me. I let out a sigh and just let her pulls me along.

She ended up guiding me to her small bakery shop. She gently pushes me to an empty table, urging me take a seat. I just watch as she walks away, and comes back not long after holding a tray in her hands. Turns out it was pancakes.

"I know this is already lunch time. But since this is a bakery shop, this is all I have" she said. I turn to look at her to see her staring at me with an apologetic gaze. "But do let me know if you prefer something else!" She said.

"A-Ah... that won't be necessary, ma'am" I said. She smiles softly at me. I pick up a fork and cut up a piece. I place it inside my mouth. I close my eyes as I start to chew slowly. The savory taste of the pancake spreads across my mouth. "Wow... this is so good!!" I exclaimed. I turn my head to look at her to see her smiling happily at me. I smile softly at her.

"Say... where do you live, Y/N? Who are you living with?" She asked. My eyes sadden at what she said. She noticed my emotion changing. "Did something happen, dear?" She asked.

"I lost both of my parents when I was a kid, and I lost my grandma a year ago. So I've been living by myself" I said. Her eyes widen at what I said. I send her a small smile. "I'm trying everything I can to survive" I said.

"Oh dear..." she said. She lift her arms, wrapping them around me as she pulls me close. My head is leaning against her chest. Her hand tangles through my hair as she holds me close. "I'm so sorry you have to go through all of that... you're still such a young girl" she said. My eyes sadden as tears starts to stream down my cheeks. I start to sniffle softly as she hugs me.

After a while, I finally calmed down. She slowly pulls away and takes a seat across from me. "Are you feeling better?" She asked. I send her a small smile and nods my head. She smiles softly at me. "Those fighting skills you have. Where did you learned them from?" She asked.

"I... uh... taught myself how to fight by observing the trainers in Dojos. I memorized their movements and try it out myself" I said. Her eyes widen as she stares at me in shock.

"That's amazing! You are indeed a very special girl" she said. I smile sheepishly at her compliment. She reached out and grabs my hands. "Say, do you wanna come and live with me?" She asked. I stare at her in surprise.

This is the second time someone offered me this. I'm not sure whether I should accept her offer or not. I don't wanna be a burden, but at the same time... I don't want to be alone. So what should I do?
