Except Aru didn't have the heart to knock. Even though she peeped through the peephole (which Aru thought was a bit oddly placed, as this was a room in a gigantic house, not an apartment), she couldn't see anything. Aru cracked open the door, surprised to notice that it wasn't locked. She peeked in just a bit to see what in the Otherworld was going on. Inside of Mini's comfy room was, well, Mini. She had transformed into a mountain of Kleenex, but she was still Mini. Next to her was Brynne, consoling Mini like a therapist. On the ground next to the two girls were tubs of ice cream. Mini was so small, Aru doubted that she'd have had an appetite for more than 1/4 of the tub. Brynne, on the other hand . . . "-And then she showed everybody a video of me drooling and sucking my thumb!" Mini's voice broke at the end of the statement. "I just wish someone would be and Eros to my Persephone." The teary girl glanced at the confused hazel-eyed one. "Lore Olympus? You haven't heard of the comics? You know what, never mind." A new voice entered the conversation but sounded very low quality so Aru had to strain her ears to hear it. "Don't worry, Mini. She . . . she probably didn't mean it. You guys are so tight-knit! I doubt that she'd say something like that intentionally." An uncomfortable silence followed. "Right?" Aru's eyes widened. She really had no recollection of the thing Mini said. None. And the low-quality voice, Aru realized, came from a phone. And, with a twinging sadness, Aru realized it was Aiden. All of her friends felt unsure of their newfound relationship with Aru, and that hurt the most. What was in that candy bar?, thought Aru, tugging her hair.

"I just can't believe lighting girl would say this! What kind of inconsiderate person would say that to a friend- no. A best friend?" Brynne ranted. Aru pinched the bridge of her nose and blinked the tears back. What could she have said to make Mini so upset? "Wait," said Aiden. "You know how that girl, Andriette gave me those funky lollies? Maybe something like that happened?" Mini sniffed and thought about it for a moment. She took a gigantic breath in, and then out. "You know what, Wifey? I think you're right. I should ask her what in the world is going on." She turned around. "You can come in, Aru." Aru took a sharp breath in. How had Mini known that she was there? She sighed and pushed the door open, head down in shame. Brynne's face flashed with fury once she saw Aru. "You!" She picked up a random lid to an ice cream tub and chucked it with a lot of Brynne power. It smacked Aru on the face and she fell with a thud. She groaned loudly. "BRYNNE!" yelled Mini. She got up in a flash to help her friend up. Brynne stood there with a placid look on her face, the corners of her mouth turned down. Aru could faintly hear Aiden asking what was going on. Mini pulled a Kleenex from her pocket and handed it to Aru. Aru wrinkled her nose. "Is that used?" Mini had a ghost of a smile on her face. "In England, they call them handkerchiefs." A sad smile appeared on Aru's face, nostalgia tickling the back of her head. Last fall, when Aru and Mini had gone on a mission to the Kingdom of Death, Aru had given Mini a crumpled tissue and told her it was a handkerchief. "So," came the voice of Aiden, emitting from the phone Brynne had pointed at the two. "Explain."
