What Is Hobbyhorsing?
Hello everyone! I am glad you found this book! I am a proud, American Hobbyhorse Rider, if you didn't know. So what are hobbyhorses anyway?
Hobbyhorsing originated in Finland, and with over 10,000 competitors, it's a very popular sport. Now, this activity is coming over to America and the first ever American Hobby Horse Competition was held at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in the summer of 2017. The next competition will be this Saturday and next Saturday, and the finals will be October 22nd. (Here are some links to some awesome hobbyhorsing videos!)

(If you would like to find more videos, just look up hobbyhorsing on YouTube! The last video is the video I based my horse off of when I was making her)
Hobbyhorsing is when you make a stick horse (yes, hand sew a stick horse and even make a bridle and/or martingale for it) and run around a jumps course, which is just like a real show jumping course. You can do that, or you can show off your dressage moves in the dressage ring.
Here is the Hobby Horse I made (I made everything, the tack and the horse)
She is a Haflinger mare and her barn name is Marigold. Her show name is SS Hollywood Marigold and I am super proud of her! I can't wait to show her off to you guys and I hope you enjoy this book! Stay tuned for more riding updates!
***AUTHOR'S NOTE: I WILL NOT BE RIDING FOR THE NEXT MONTH OR TWO BECAUSE I JUST BROKE MY FOOT AND I WILL HAVE TO HAVE SURGERY, ALONG WITH A CAST AND A BOOT LATER ON. SORRY FOR THE INCONVENIENCE!***
