James POV:

My family's annual Christmas ball starts in an hour and I'm completely unaware of how it's gonna go. Marlene is trying to reveal her pregnancy to everyone tonight while Sirius doesn't approve of it. Lily is the only thing keeping me sane right now! I've been asked way to many decorative type questions but it's all worth it because I get to see the love of my life in 59 minutes!

Lily's POV:
"No Marlene, he is not being a arsehole. He's just not ready to tell everyone he's going to be a father" I say into the phone
"FLOWER, ITS TIME FOR YOU TO GET READY" I hear my dad call out. He's been calling me flower and calling petunia garden since we were children.
"Gotta go Marlene I'll call you later" is say into the phone before rushing upstairs.
I get out my towel and run into the shower. I turn the water to hot and start shampooing my hair.
"LILY" petunia screams out
"YES TUNEY"
"VERNON CANT MAKE IT, HES SICK WITH THE FLU" she shouts back. In the back of my mind I'm relived the git isn't going because he's the most repulsive human ever to be known to man!
"OK TUNEY JUST START GETTING READY" I say lathering more soap on to my body

When I hop out of the shower I quickly run out to fam my hair and start my makeup. I apply a nice natural and elegant shade of eyeshadow on my eyelid, put on mascara, curl my lashes, add blush and lipgloss. For my hair I straighten it and keep it down. I step into my dress, zip up and put on my heels.

I rush downstairs and see tuney in a light blue shirt dress and mum in a black fitted dress. They both have their hair up in a bun.
"Are we ready" dad asks
I nod and quickly go into the car.

When we arrive I look at all the cars parked outside and smile
"Darling are you sure we've gotten the correct ball?" Dad asks
I nod and we all step out of the car. Instantly Remus greets me with one of the biggest hugs ever.
"lily you look...wow" he says with a big smile
"Thank you. Mum dad tuney this is Remus. He's one of James' best mates"
"Nice to meet you" Remus shakes each of their hands
"Likewise" tuney responds with a smile
"Lets go find James and his family" I say with a smile
"Remus are you coming?" Dad asks as Remus thinks
"No, I'm actually gonna wait for the Tonks family to arrive"
"Ok, let's go" I say trying not to sound as rude as it came out

We enter the house and I instantly see James standing at the top of the staircase
"LILY" he eagerly shouts as he almost slips down the stairs. He runs to me and picks me off of the ground while he spins me
"I've missed you so so much love" I say kissing him. We break apart and James greets my family
"My parents are upstairs, would you guys like to join them?" James asks as my mum smiles and nods

We walk up the stair and go into the library where his parents along with Sirius and Marlene currently are awaiting to meet mine
"Hello" Mum says formally walking up to the potters and shaking both of their hands
"Hello, I'm Euphemia and this is Fleamont. We're James' parents, and this is Sirius our other son and Marlene but you must already know them"
"I'm Elizabeth and this is my husband Allan and our eldest daughter Petunia"
At this point Sirius and Marlene made there way out.

"It's such a pleasure to meet the family James always goes on about. He surly does love your daughter" fleamont says making me smile
"Mum, Dad would you like to ask Elizabeth and Allan if lily can come with us this winter?" James eagerly asks with a grin
"James you bloke theres literally nothing left to ask" I say through my teeth wide eyed while slapping his chest. James is 6'1 and I'm only 5'2 so being able to reach him is hard without my heels
"Oh yes, we're traveling this winter break and were wondering if lily would be allowed to join? James can't go on a day without this young lady" Euphemia asks gracefully
"I don't know about that" Dad debates while looking at his wife
"Allan let lily have a break for gods sake" Mum cried out
"So I can go?" I ask
"No-" dad try's to deny before Mum gives him the death eye
"Fine" he gives up. I quickly turn to face James and wrap my arms around his neck
"So you, me and New York for a month?" He asks with a cheeky grin
"I dunno...." I kiss at my teeth and look up
"I'll give you my jumper" he says
"Deal" I say kissing his nose

As our parents continue chatting James and I make it downstairs to see a ballroom of people dancing.
"Look there comes Sirius" James says
"Mate Marls and I are doing it" he gleams
"Yes Sirius thats how you got her knocked up" I say with a smile
"No you blithering ogre, we're announcing marls' pregnancy" he whispers with a smile
"Sirius are you sure mate? There are a lot of people here-"
"No the black family is here and I wanna do it now"
"Ok whatever tickles your pickle" I say with a smile.
Sirius runs up to Marlene (causing me to laugh for a strange reason) and he grabs her hand and walks to the piano. He looks over and grabs a glass from a random lads hand and a spoon from his wife who was eating ice cream.
"Of course" James chuckles
"If he ever stole my spoon I woulda kick him in his biscuits" I say with a faint smile

Sirius taps on the glass with a spoon and says "ladies and gentlemen may I have your attention please"
Everyone stayed quite, especially the black family.
"It is to be known that I, Sirius Orion Black and my stunning girlfriend Marlene McKinnon are to be expecting a child soon." Sirius says
Many gasps were shared and the volume got loud but James wasn't having it. He calmed everyone down by yelling "I know this isn't the ideal lifestyle but in my opinion as long as the three of them are happy and healthy I'm all in"
"I agree" I chime in
"So do I" petunia yells
Out of nowhere people started agreeing and cheering from all around the ballroom. Marlene and Sirius were receiving congratulations left and right

"What is all this havoc?" Mum asks us as she and the potters walk down the stairs
"Mrs Evans I dunno how you're gonna take this but I'm pregnant with Sirius' child" Marlene says as she puts her hand on her belly.
Mum stood there is shock.
"Marlene since when were you and Sirius together? Pregnant? Do Euphemia and Melissa know? Aren't you guys too young to be sexually active?" Mum asks in one breath
"Now Mum I do-"
"We got together a week before lily and James did, yes Marlene is pregnant, yes both mothers know, and lastly we are not too young to be active since it is part take our last years in high school" Sirius answers with a smile as he puts his hand on Marlenes shoulder while standing behind her.
"Lily is there a chance you could be-"
"no mum" I laugh out
"Are you active?" Dad asks
"Dad I'm not talking about my personal life Infront of 3,000 people"
"Hey what'd I miss" Remus asks as he, Peter, Alice, Mary and Frank come out of the shadows
"Lily's dad was asking about her sex life with James" Sirius loudly explains
"Hush now Sirius we don't want the lads to be embarrassed now" Marlene laughs out
"Oh really? Well you're knocked up and you got a girl knocked up" I blurt out
" touché Evans" Marlene points her pointer finger at me while squinting her eyes and smacking on her gum
"Lily darling would you like to dance?" James asks as he reaches a hand out to me
"Do I have a choice?" I ask
"No you don't" James says grabbing my hand and spinning me into the dance floor

As we dance we talk about school.
"Lily what do you wanna do after university" he asks me
"Most likely a doctor or a OBGYN like your mum" I say. When I saw the smile on Marlene and Sirius' face when they saw the ultrasound o was filled with happiness. I would love to see that everyday.
"What about you Potter?" I ask
"A police officer" he says with a smile
"Well what about your wife and kids? Wouldn't they feel worried about their dad being a officer?" I ask with my eyebrows raised
"You 'nd the kids will be fine" he rolls his eyes suddenly realizing what he says
"So we're married and have kids now?"
"Not now but soon" he says smiling
"You're a piece of work Mr Potter"
"As are you Mrs Potter"
We spend the rest of the night slow dancing away.
