"She has been in there for a while now, I do hope she alright," I spoke with sorrow.
"Stellar? She is one of the toughest ones I know," Via replied.
"You said that about me before I left the group," I shoot back. Jake didn't know what was going on, so I simply watched him get up and head to the bathroom where Stellar was in. He knocked a couple of times, we didn't get much of a reply the first round. I shrugged and he tried again, this time a knife came piercing through the door almost hitting Jake in the nose.
"Okay, I think maybe you back off a bit, I can tell she is not the mood for people. Plus I forgot that she had a survival knife with her so partly my fault," I started to relax on the bed.
"Why wasn't I told this info?" Jake shoot me a death glare as he asked the question.
"For the people's protection," I answered. He replied with a facial expression that read, why?
I smiled a bit. A little shadow that looked like a strange looking cat. I looked around to see where heeh shadow was coming at. I saw nothing. I looked back at where the shadow was, it's gone. Something is up in this school. The events seem to order. Like someone is writing our lives, but that's not possible we're living our lives as it comes. Maybe it's just a bug flying by. I'll try not to hard thinking about it.
Stellar opened the door. She was different. The clothes still fit her, but her hair was weird. She was hanging her head low. The day barely begun and it was already hell. I watched her try and reach a bit over her head on the door for her knife. It was surprising how high the throw was with such a short person.
"STELLAR!!", Jake yelled as he hugged her.
"Jake I think you should let go a bit. By the way you're hugging her you could make her lose breath," I spoke.
"Sorry," he said as he let go, "Oh, and Via went to her class, if that's okay with you?"
She nodded yes. Her pale skin was stained with dried tears. I got up. And went to grab her bag. I was going to skip the rest of the school day with her and possibly Jake if he wanted to. Knowing Stellar, she drove to school today. Most of the classes today where just the same thing we learned, anyways.
"Want to ditch the rest of the school day?" I asked as I flung Her bag over my shoulder.
"Well," she started, "I have to do something with my home slices later, they said they wanted to go out for coffee or something, but I don't think that won't be until later."
"I'm good," he told.
"Well I'm not going to let you go back to class, not looking forward to classes anyways, so I'm taking you guys out to eat," I told them, "Stellar, can I drive?" She nodded okay.
"Great let's go then!!" We started heading out the nurse's office and the school.
In the parking lot held a lot of cars the closest rows held what everyone called the revered rows because you have to be known and loved by everyone to get those. I have a spot in there but I never use it. Then was everyone else, I remember what Stellar's car looked like. And 60's blue mustang. Very classy. I was leading our little group. I pulled her bag in front of my and dug around to find her keys. Which was at the bottom past all the tiny junk, then unlock it. Open the door and hop in the driver seat.
"Any questions?" I asked as they came in the car.
"Yes, are you drunk?" Jake asked.
"Oh, I forgot you saw that," I answer, "but NOPE!!" And started driving.
We all agree to go to this one diner that wasn't to far away from the school nor the middle of town. We have been there a couple of time the service isn't great but hands down is one of the greatest american food I'll probably ever had in this world. Rose Diner is what the name was. I try and go there at least two times when I'm back here in Eleanor. It was kinda like a little tradition to eat there.
Stellar was in the passenger's seat and Jake was in the back taking up all the room. The car surprisingly of how old the car is, it runs just as well as a brand new car. Jake was telling jokes and past stories from years ago. And then we went to spilling gossip just to speed the trip up a bit.
It takes about 15 minutes total to get there. I tried to park as close as I can to the entire but I could only get a parking spot in the second row. There was many cars here than a normal day, but I don't think it would be such a bother. I turned the car off and got out. The others followed out of the car. Rose Diner was a cabin looking building but with modern updates. We started walking to the entrance, I saw the shadow again. It just stood there. Moving and all but with no body to belong.
"Do you see that?" I pointed to the shadow.
"What are you talking about?" Stellar asked.
"IT'S RIGHT HERE!!" I ran to where the shadow was.
"I think the hunger is getting to your head, let's go, plus I'll play my treat," Jake walked by me.
"Woah there mister, who said you were paying?" I went after him. Stellar giggled and followed. I pushed open the door and walked in and took a seat at one of the tables and sort of moved over so one of them if they want can sit with me. Jake sat by himself and Stellar came and sat with me. She was sort of a crush of mine but I have a "boyfriend", all he's is used for was celebrity gossip. Basically everyone likes Stellar, but sadly she liked no one.
The waiter came by. "Sorry for the wait, we're a bit busier than normal," he handed us menus, "Can I start you with any drinks?"
"I have ice tea, please," I open up the menu.
"CRUSH!!" Stellar yelled in a childish voice. That almost made everyone giggle.
"I'll just have a water," Jake order. The waiter nodded and went to get the orders.
"Why do you do that?" A voice spoke over our small convocation, "Do something to get yourself attention or make everyone laugh? It's sicking."
"Do you want to start a fight?" I threatened.
"That will certainly make this town a bit more interesting, but I'm guessing you don't want you fighting a random kid on the papers tomorrow?" The person fired back.
"What do you want?" Jake asked with a stern voice.
"It's simple, really," The voice took a breath, "For y'all to burn in hell."
"Listen," I stood up and turned to face the person, "I don't know what you're playing at here, but I won't have a kid like you trying to make us do something that we can't possibly do in a long time, so why don't you back off and probably both of us can make it out alive."
"Oh Audrey. The only one that looks stupid now is you. After all it seems now that you're holding a 8 year old kid by the collar," It disappear, and I saw the child.
I slid back into my set. I put my head on the table, "Please tell me that I wasn't the only one that saw that person?"
"It was just you," Jake reply.
"BUT I HEAR YOU TALKING TO IT!!" I slammed my hands on the table.
"Are you sure you're fine?" Stellar asked and placed her hand on my forehead.
"I'm fine," I pulled her hand off, "I just hope I'm not seeing things."
"That's what she said." We started cracking up.
The waiter came and took our plates away and handed the check to us. I paid for it as I promised but Jake insisted that he would do the tip cause I didn't let him pay for lunch. But it was mostly good time. They wanted to go this new store that wasn't far away it was kinda like a music store but with like with more instruments than guitars, but that took us to two o'clock. Then we went to my theatre/home for the rest of the time. We took down the random posters and tape that was over the place. And sweep the place up a bit. So technically we were cleaning. After words we hang out around the stage a bit.
"I started working on this song when I was tour. Would you like to hear it?" I asked.
"Sure, why not," Stellar answered.
"Okay," I started tapping my hands on the ground.
"As we were children you said that we never let go,
But look at us now,
I don't think I even know you,
We changed and now you're just like a stranger,
But I have changed to,
And we grew apart and we became two different people,
Do you still look back,
On those memories we once shared?
Or is it too late now to make new ones?
Cause now it seems you're like a stranger" I sang.
"That's all I have so far," I informed.
"Audrey..." Stellar started, "That's really beautiful."
"Well it's a change from your normal songs."
"Jake!" Stellar slapped him in his chest, "Don't be rude."
"It's okay," I said.
It's okay. I need a break from my normal. I wished I was home. It's getting sickening here, but I don't want to leave the ones I love.
